    Glad to see you didn't mess up your prop. Even on a busy crowded day it was a success. Congrats

      Thank you. Yeah, with the jackplate I do put a hurting on my props. I just try to be responsible and stay off of the grass flats, and only run in the common lanes and channels, or where I know it's just sand or mud bottom.

    Great report! That first Red was mighty fine! WOW... that negative low water in the lagoon is scary! Hope it comes back up to normal soon. We're looking forward to seeing you out there one day!

    • @JeffHammerFishing
      @JeffHammerFishing  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes and no. While the low water does make it tough to get around, it also bunches the fish up in the deeper pockets. So, it's always a trade off. I'm sure we'll run into one another out there eventually. Actually, there is a mini rally in St Augustine on Saturday that I may go to.

    Good Video... Thank you for sharing. Great music by the way. Good weather...and fishing too. Wow, what a Rush! No pun intended.

      LOL, thanks! That's not just Rush in there though. It's one of those rare mashups that I really liked.

    Great video. I fished the goon the week before this, Monday through Friday. I have never fished it on a weekend. and now I see why I don't. But boy that water was low. Went out last week there and it was about a foot higher.

    • @JeffHammerFishing
      @JeffHammerFishing  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Eric! Went out today and the water was a lot higher. Back to more normal levels I'd say. I did notice that some of the areas that were crystal clear two weeks ago are now clouding up a bit.

    Nice to see you posting again brother. The negative tides were definitely crazy, eh? Lowest I've seen all year!

    • @JeffHammerFishing
      @JeffHammerFishing  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you George. This time of year I usually don't have time to post every week, but by April or so I should be able to.

    Nice video! I went out Sunday as well on my Kayak. caught 10 speckle trout but no red in sight. Hopefully I get one this weekend.

    • @JeffHammerFishing
      @JeffHammerFishing  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I really haven't been seeing many reds by themselves. They are pretty much schooled up, so you're going to have to look at places where bigger groups are likely to be. Most of the schools I've seen in the past month haven't been in grassy areas. They seem to be gravitating to large, bare sandy holes.

    Great stuff man! Keep it up!
    This time of year is so tough for those of us without Gheenoes

    • @JeffHammerFishing
      @JeffHammerFishing  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! Sorry you don't have a Gheenoe. Have you tried finding areas you could wade?

    • @hipster707
      @hipster707 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've got an old runabout that gets pretty skinny but nothing like a Gheenoe. Recently I've only had luck on the drop offs and deeper flats

    • @JeffHammerFishing
      @JeffHammerFishing  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are right on. People were telling me they were running aground right in Slippery Creek, so thats crazy low.

  • @Victorkayak
    @Victorkayak 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    you know sometimes that's fish I went out there last week I had same problem really low tide and I am fishing on a kayak almost walk to oh well like always nice video👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

    • @JeffHammerFishing
      @JeffHammerFishing  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I hear ya. Even a kayak would have struggled in quite a few areas. The thing with a setup like mine is I can run several inches shallower than I can float at rest, so if there's 3" of water and the bottom isn't hard, packed sand or shell, I can get over it. But, if I have to stop...game over.

    was that slippery Creek? Was nearly dried up this weekend and was to late before I noticed... little sore after pulling out of that one..did find fish all weekend, but couldn't access many normal areas..water clarity is great, but seeing how much grass is gone is depressing

    • @JeffHammerFishing
      @JeffHammerFishing  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, it wasn't slippery, but I did run through there and it was low too. I was out this weekend also and the levels were actually quite a bit higher than this trip. You're right about the grass. Only time will tell how much comes back. Hopefully we'll be able to see it.

      HaMm3r wondering if I was to far right entering slippery

    • @JeffHammerFishing
      @JeffHammerFishing  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Entering Slippery where exactly? East or west end? If west, were you already past the sandbar, the slow speed sign or across Bissit Bay yet? If east, coming from the north or south? There's places to run aground all the way thru Slippery, so kind of need to pinpoint where you were a bit better and I'll try to help.

    • @richardgilliland3528
      @richardgilliland3528 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      HaMm3r southern side of bisset bay on west side, where you enter slippery

    • @richardgilliland3528
      @richardgilliland3528 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have run slippery more times than I can count in the same exact path, shocked to see I couldn't pass, less than 6"-7"

    Hey man, is there a kayak launch at riverbreeze? I haven't been up there in a while and don't remember.

    • @JeffHammerFishing
      @JeffHammerFishing  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, there is a small dirt launch on the north side of the ramps. There's a big sign there and short trail maybe 10-15' down to the water.

    How deep is shipyard canal right know

    • @JeffHammerFishing
      @JeffHammerFishing  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure Justin. I don't put my transducer on in the lagoon. There's not much point. But Shipyard Canal is plenty deep to begin with so, I wouldn't worry about it.

    Loving that gheenoe. I miss mine

    • @JeffHammerFishing
      @JeffHammerFishing  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Me too. There isn't a boat on the market I'd trade it for. I mean, there are a few others wouldn't mind owning, but I'd still keep this one.

    I am thinking about getting a talon for my flats boat do u like them or would u recomend something else

    • @JeffHammerFishing
      @JeffHammerFishing  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mine is a 1st generation Talon, so it is noisy. That's the only thing I don't like about it. The newer models are much quieter. Overall I like it a lot though, just wish it wasn't so loud.

      I've heard that once before from a good friend. He's blind in one eye and can barely see out of the other. I'm not making that up, either. Lol.
