    About Outro: Tear Suga said: "the lyrics for Tear were written for the members. When I was writing the melody, at the time, we were deeply contemplating whether we should quit or not. When I played the song for the members we all cried together".
    Also RM is saying "Tear" as in crying and Suga as in ripping something apart. I recommend you to watch live performance of this song if you haven't seen it yet

    Now that you mentioned that everyone has their own world when you were talking about the rap line. Well, in the fandom we use to describe them like this:
    Rm -> Analyze the world
    Suga -> Criticize the world
    J Hope -> Visualize the world

    • @caramelsimon7472
      @caramelsimon7472 4 ปีที่แล้ว +46

      And it's really amazing that it's a cycle. When you analyze something you'll notice it's bad sides and you start criticizing it. But once you realize that there's good in the bad, you'll start visualizing it positively. 💜

    J-HOPE is so under appreciated in the rap scene because he is a mix between hip hop and pop.
    Magic shop is an actual term/therapy psychiatrist do to exchange people's fears or problems.
    Anpan man is like the weakest superhero. Anpanman has a head of bread and he offers part of his head to feed others low in energy but Anpanman also gets low in energy. Anpanman still try to fight off bad guys.

    RM is the only member that was involved in writing truth untold. Joonie is really a genius as he written/composed/produced most of BTS songs. At least around 130 to 200 of BTS Songs, if u don't count his own albums and songs with other artist. Yoongie is second has written around 100 or so BTS songs. And Jhope helped a lot too with around 90 or so. The singers haven't written a lot of BTS songs, it's only recently they started writing songs for BTS so they have around 10 or so songs.

    • @ebz8001

      And if u really see the amount of songs they were involved in before 2020, it's only around 10 or so but this year they have improved a lot more and been involved a lot more. The thing about the rappers is that they are able to gather inspiration from their members thoughts and feeling and express those feelings to a higher standard. Which is so beautiful.

    Paradise was inspired by Suga’ New Years greetings to fans. He said that society breeds competition and makes it seem like everyone needs to have a dream they’re pursuing but society never teaches us how to dream or what a dream is.
    He said that he hopes this song can comfort those who are tired of the competition.
    It’s also kind of the antithesis of their debut song “No More Dream” where they were telling kids to stop following the “dreams” forced onto them and to find what they’re truly passionate about and pursue that instead.

    So about BTS as a group: I've been a fan for more than 5 years now, I've seen many people who worked with them behind the scenes talk about how genuine they are AND how close they are. Jessi, the K-rapper once said that she knows many kpop groups whose members don't get along, and she said that when she worked with BTS (it was a commercial) they were actually really good and close friends. There are hundreds of examples like this. 2018 was a really difficult time for them (beginning of 2018)., they've said it many times, they always talk about the start of 2018 as a very dark and difficult time for all of them. At first, no one noticed, at least, I didn't notice that something was wrong, but then they started opening up and they even said that they even discussed on whether to continue or disband. Outro Tear was written at that time, and I believe Yoongi was the one who said that when they listened to it they all cried. Thankfully, BTS just all seem different lately. The really seem genuinely happy and proud of themselves. I noticed they started to feel more happy in 2019 ( boy with luv era when they were doing concerts and stuff). Now, with the whole covid situation , they're definitely having a hard time bc of that, but it seems like they are hopeful and positive about it. Jimin cried last month when he talked about it, but he's strong, they are strong, they'll overcome it.Also, sorry for my English. I'm doing my best, I get confused bc I speak arabic, spanish and french at home lmao. I only use English for social media ...and when I was in high school...that's a long time ago :) love from a Moroccan who lives in Spain

    What Efra said about life is an endless hustle is exactly what suga said about Paradise. Suga said that society have taught us to always compete. He hoped this song would help people who are tired of the nonstop competition.

  • @taesfilter3026
    @taesfilter3026 4 ปีที่แล้ว +47

    efra got the meaning behind outro:tear pretty accurately! as many have already explained in the comments, the song is about the difficult times they spent discussing about disbanding. i would also like to point out that namjoon has said multiple times that the secret to their teamwork is acknowledging the fact that they're 7 very different people with different dreams and goals. he often uses the analogy of all 7 of them being on the same boat with each of the member looking at different directions. though they all have different dreams and goals, they all sacrifice certains things for the greater good, for the sake of their entire team and therefore move in the same direction. such maturity is hard to come by and that's the reason why this particular analogy of namjoon's stuck in my head. thank you for the amazing reaction, guys! this is fav album, followed by dark & wild and wings following closely after.

    Love Yourself: Tear was the 2nd album. It was a trilogy and the 3rd one was Love Yourself: Answer.
    Tear is about love not being perfect and falling apart, and in the process forces you too look within yourself as to why that is? Why is it that the amazing love they experienced in Love Yourself: Her isn’t able to last?
    And obviously they have the answer revealed to them in the form of an epiphany, in the album Love Yourself: Answer

    what Waleska said at the end about them having goals as a group but having personal goals as well reminded me of how RM explained it, he basically said : " i feel like as a group we are on the same boat that's heading in a certain direction but at the same time each one of the members looks at different directions from that boat " , it always amazes me how they're so different from each other , but together they have this weird chemistry that brings light to each one of them and light up their path as a group as well , maybe it's how jhope said :" it might sound corny , but i think it's destiny"

    “That dream has finally become a dream”
    I think it means that when someone has a dream that he wants to achieve like BTS had a dream to create music together. But then they realized that that dream has finally become a dream, meaning, it’s not real, it’s only in their mind and it will be never come true. (Obviously in the end BTS definitely achieved their dream and even did a lot of other things no one including them have ever dreamed of.)

I'm kinda sad I miss the chance to hear this at their concert. funny that efra said he passed his dubstep phase.. this was a couple of years back so maybe this was jungkook's phase? lol. because what he produced after this esp still with you is so so good.
    so what is another song that i didn't like that much at first, but seeing the concert performance? i love it so much now. the energy with the crowd jamming to it is incredible. as far as I know, there's no choreo for this? this is just them vibing and having fun with the crowd.

    I think 'the dream that we dreamt together has finally become a dream' is said from the pov of when they were really serious about whether to disband or not (probably fought/argued/had heated discussions a lot too over it all). BTS at some point started saying that they always wanted to be together and make music together and i think they truly believed that they'll basically continue to be BTS/team forever no matter what, but when reality hit them hard with whatever hardships they were going thru and they realised that maybe they might not stay together now. the dream that they dreamt together (of how things will be) was just a dream now (and not reality), personally i think this also refers to how they thought fame/success will be vs. how it really turned out to be. BTS was always i think really set that they will be together regardless of how many fans they have once they made it (with their whole fame is a temporary thing line of thought).
    같은 곳을 향해 걸었었는데
    We used to walk towards the same place,
    이곳이 우리의 마지막이 돼
    but here becomes our last
    영원을 말하던 우리였는데
    We used to talk about forever,
    가차없이 서로를 부수네
    but now we mercilessly destroy each other
    같은 꿈을 꿨다 생각했는데
    I thought we dreamed the same dream,
    그 꿈은 비로소 꿈이 되었네
    but now the dream truly became just a dream
    Obviously they got themselves together again and decided that they will indeed continue with now a greater appreciation of just how fragile and strong their bond to each other/fans/themselves is.
    They hv said many things regarding this song and just what it meant to them in bits over time.
    Hope it all makes sense 😅
    It did in my head lol

    RM once said that the 7 of them are on a boat, all facing different directions but they are heading to the same place. I feel like that imagery really breaks down how 7 different people are able to coexist even if they have different dreams. They have come to the agreement that as a group they all want to go to the same place aka the group dream. but within that they have different directions they want to go too along the way.
    Ofc that does put a limit on what they can actually do individually if theyre all on the metaphorical boat. One of them can't totally run off into the ocean, they are anchored to the boat aka bts. But they have agreed to that and thats why theyre able to do so many different mixtapes and take on so many individual projects along the way. But they will come back to bts at the end of the day.

    Okay it’s time for my random tidbits of knowledge again: 🤓
    Okay so Pluto isn’t a planet anymore bc it does not meet the criteria of a planet (I’ll summarize so I won’t bore you):
    • it does not perfectly orbit the sun
    • it’s way too damn small
    • lacks a significant gravitational pull
    • etc.
    So basically scientists have discovered that Pluto is essentially just space rock, which is very common and can be as large or much smaller than Pluto. Solar flares sent off from the sun tends to cause a bunch of that so be spread throughout space and it is beloved that when Pluto was being projected out there it collided with other stuff (other rocks) and accidentally got knocked into orbit with the sun.
    That caused it to look like it was a planet but once we developed the technology to really look at its orbit we see it’s not really orbiting the sun and that it actually looks like it orbits other planets sometimes.

    obviously there are an endless amount of ways to interpret the line about dreams in outro:tear...I think you can think of the word dream in different ways, either as something that can possibly happen or something that is a figment of one's imagination/subconscious.
    So the way I interpret that line is...they and the person they're speaking to once thought they were dreaming of the same future, but now that they've gone their separate ways, that dream which was once a possible future has now become unattainable: JUST a dream, a fantasy.

    Anpanman has a special place in my heart. Both the character and the song. Yanase Takashi, the creator, developed a superhero whose head was made of sweet bean (あんan) bread (パンpan). His superpower is sharing himself to feed hungry people. I was blown away when I learned that Yanase’s inspiration was from the second world war. He (and most of the Japanese population) suffered from hunger and he’d dream of eating anpan. I just...
    I learned about it in a class about the war that was being taught to Japanese elementary school kids and it hit me so unexpectedly to see their reactions that I cry cried.
    An anpanman book was also the first meaningful present I received when I moved to Japan and it cut my homesickness in half.

    paradise is an embodiment of comfort song.

    Connection; that is ultimately the core of what I think BTS wants/hopes/works to achieve. Connection between people, connection to music (art), connection THROUGH music (art). I really really appreciate that you both, at the heart of your discourse, arrived in one way or another at the idea of connection. Hmm, it's hard for me to fully express well, but I really do love & enjoy the connection you both have to music, and I'm so glad that you share it with us here on YT. You both have made me appreciate and connect to music (and art) in new & different ways, so, thank you.

    So! Paradise is my absolute favorite song, top tier, above all.
    I was obsessed growing up with being someone, with achieving great things, being the best artist best writer going down in history, living my mark in the world. The amount of stress that put me through. I was so unhappy, constantly running.
    At some point, I realized that wasn't life, it was about me being happy, and achieving something grandiose wasn't the most important thing, but not many people agreed with me, many so it as "settling", which I don't agree. Just surviving and being happy was my dream.
    And then, Tear came out, this was back when their albums came out at 6 pm KST so 4 am for me, and I was just sitting in my living room listening to the album and I got to Paradise, I didn't have the lyric translations yet, and somehow the song spoke to me. I cried on my first few listens, cried even harder when I read the translations, I felt comforted. Finally, someone, specially people I admire and love so much, were validating the way I felt. This song means a lot to me.

    Tear has a double meaning in Outro: Tear. Both tear as in crying and tear as in ripping something apart.
    RM raps about crying and Suga raps about tearing his heart apart.
    In the chorus they say you’re my tear (as in crying) then you’re my tear (as in ripped)

  • @laneylime
    @laneylime 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I completely agree about not giving a song/musicality a rating/grade. As someone who listens to almost all kinds of genres it always confused me on how someone could day a certain genre was trash, because it is true that it depends on your mood, what environment you are in, and the information or context you know about a song that will ultimately give your view on it. With So What, it was probably my least favourite on the tear album (not that I didn't like it, but was just lower on my favourability), but when I watched them perform the live version at the concerts, it basically became one of my favourite live performances from them (you could feel the energy) and the song was perfect for live concerts and festivals! Picturing myself at a concert or being their live made me enjoy the song 10x more and now when I listen to So What I get into such a good mood and have a blast!!
    The whole point is that it really depends on the context you are in when listening to a song, the atmosphere and mood, as well as the further dissection of a song that can really influence your perspective and like-ability of a song, so always keep that in mind before you trash or avoid a song/genre:))))

    The song So What is honestly such a hype song at a concert, you would get fireworks going off, you would have everyone jumping around getting hyped up, you would be able to hear more of the backup vocals, and the members would start having fun and running around on stage, I wish I went to their concert this year and experienced that but COVID happened😔

    02:13:33 RM's speech regarding their group and personal goals from festa 2020, It's my favorite moment from festa:
    "I want to put it this way. I believe that a team is better than one. We all want to do different things and our goals are different too. But instead of doing things alone I held back what I wanted a bit to do things as a team. I believe we create something better when we are together as a team and with our fans. That belief keeps us going. Otherwise someone could have left the team because they are exhausted or for whatever reason. Instead of thinking I can do better alone, I believe doing something as a team would lead to much more meaningful life for me."

    I knew you gonna love this one heck of an album!! Lyrics wise as well as the music wise it's a freaking GEM! I'm bawling my eyes out reading the lyrics while listening to Magic Shop, 5 hours after they released the album in 2018. Lyrics was immediately translated by Armys an hour after the release. Like in my mind I was talking to myself, "they are singing my story, they interpreting what's inside of me that I can't put words on, expressing my hurts and pains like i'm seeing it in the mirror" This album is the closest CLOSEST to my heart.

    i’m going to go on a bit of a rant bc i just love pluto, 134340, soso much.
    As you guys read 134340 is the number scientist use to reference pluto now that it is not a planet. The reason why pluto no longer is a planet was because scientist had found another space rock , Elris, that was larger than Pluto, which made scientist question if pluto was truly a planet. Which now we know led to Pluto no longer being called a planet.
    Rm and Suga both mention -248°C which references the actual temperature of Pluto. The temperature in pluto is actually around -230° - -240° But the reason why Rm and Suga use -248° which isn’t the actual temp. is to show how much the other person broke them. Their heart is now colder than the actual temperature of pluto and it stopped the day they left them.
    There is so much more i could say about this song. It blows my mind how bts can always take something so everyday and so normal like coffee or a planet, and change it to mean something so much more meaningful. Like using pluto as a reference to loss, love, and hurt.
    i wish i could comment about every song but then this would be a way too long comment haha! this is maybe my favorite album but dark & wild never lets me forget it’s existence lolll i hope you guys get to react to that album. It was actually made in a garage in la while they where there shooting a show (hustle life) !! and has a lot of my favorite bts tracks out of all of their songs. (If i where to make a list of my favorite bts tracks the top 5 would be 4/5 from dark & wild( the 1/5 would be 134340 lmao))
    It is so interesting getting a look at your guys mind and thoughts about music. It makes me love the music even more because sometimes i get to look at it from a different perspective. not sure if you guys will even read this but i hope who ever does has more of an understanding or love for 134340, that song is way too underrated rip

    Waleska might be right about how the album came out to be .
    Rm mentions it in a concert that he wished to learn to love himself and he thought" what if we could go on this journey together?"
    You can tell he was pretty depressed,if you hear his solo Reflection. He mentions always going to Han River ( a popular place where alot of suicide takes place). Especially the last line at the end of the song just chants. "I wish I could love myself " .
    If you ever have time you should check out his speeches in love yourself concerts. They're beautiful.

    So what is definitely a song made to fire up fans at their concerts. BTS really choose their songs carefully and always create songs for certain moods and performances. So What is really not my type of song and even RM mentioned in a vlive it's not his fav genre, but then in the concert it was one of my favorite songs because it was like the second to last song that just got everybody hype. It's just amazing how thoughtful they are with their song selection. Everything has a purpose.
