I had exactly the same problem on a 2007 Explorer. I first touched up the solder on the horizontal rows of small pins but this didn't fix the display. I watched your video and went back and touched up the solder on all the large resistors. This fixed the display problem. Appreciate you posting this video.
Brilliant!!! Fixed it in under an hour. What I found was as I heated one side of the resistor it moved. That meant the other side was not holding to the board and was basically broken solder joints. My display was totally out and now is bright and functional. Rocking and rolling!!! Thanks to all on this topic. This vid had what I needed!
Well I had that problem for a wile I never really cared but now the music is not working no more so I’m not sure what is the problem but I will fix that that now I know how to do thank you.
