It's not a bad shout too! Dates and marking up all the ventilation grilles sizes, we have data badges on the boilers, so should we not have the ventilation marked too! It's all part of the combustion process, you need the air on a open flued system. It's a good way forward. Great video lots of content 👍👍
Great video Allen! Good to see commercial catered for. Those Quanta’s are a great boiler apart from ignition probes breaking down on a regular basis and needing replacing!
Replace the heat Exchanger like that one in the REMEHA last month... it weights a tone...and a half! GREAT VID! and a very clean boiler room, top professional.
Those rpz valves are an over engineered backflow prevention device, they keep water downstream of the valve at a lower pressure and encorporate a prv (blow off valve) for any rise in pressure in order to maintain a downstream lower pressure along with the usual double check valve ...bit over kill for your home though lol
All high spec kit in the plant rooms. Remeha are, in my opinion, one of the best on the market. Great for maintenance. Lee, might be worth getting yourself a belt tensioner gauge. Fenner used to make them. It gives you a way of measuring the correct tension of your belts. Best on bigger, longer belts, but a useful thing to have (once had issues with new AHUs where they came to us poorly aligned/tensioned. No argument if you set them up with a tension gauge!). @@cliveramsbotty6077 they aren’t really a big issue, in my experience. Although we have a large building where the 610 boilers used to pop sections often. Once we convinced the water quality company that 13 ph was far too high to have circulating round the system, and got it down to a more realistic level, nearer 9, it stopped happening. Remeha’s are really great to work on.
I know, that’s not right condense will destroy the rubber seals and leak combustion gases into the area they should be solvent cement as per spec condense is slightly acidic
Hi Allen, your comment on the combustion air inlet was funny, you should never emit boiler exhaust gasses into a boiler room. I think your a bit out of your depth, Lee knows his stuff that’s for sure and that’s from a commercial gas engineer of 30 years, it would be nice to see a plant room a little older with some older appliances and old school fire protection fusible links and drop weights etc and if you can get access to a steam plant room that would amazing, I know from experience there not easy to come by anymore. Thank you so much for the comment. As I said many times I am a domestic engineer and have never seen these before. Someone on one of the other videos asked if it was the flue. I didn’t know at the time. I know a lot more about them now though.

No it's not dangerous. I've never had one fail in years I've been doing commercial.
Manufactured trap on flue and no means of cleaning and commerical gas meter in plant room not allowed...
