Hey Kiana! I really enjoy your videos.. a great topic for behavioral change (and cognitive dissonance) is why people won't go vegan even though it's more morally aligned with most people ethically.. Bite Sized Vegan just made a great video called, why people hate vegans.. I think you might appreciate it!💗
if she was 700lbs of water she would fit inside a large travel bag, since fat is less dense than water, it takes more space for the same mass. If she was 700 lbs of water, she would be only 0.3 cubic meters.
@dormiebasne3578 Atoms are 99% nothing, so technically, we're all just cosmic dust with an identity crisis. In Schenee's case, she's practically the poster child for existential pondering, being only 1% Schenee and 99% interstellar uncertainty. And let's not forget, the human body is 70% water, so really, Schenee is just a drop in the ocean of the universe, a mere 0.3% Schenee and a whopping 0.7% aquatic aspirations.
He needs to leave her and let her try to live by herself so he can go find someone who actually appreciates him and doesn't need him to wipe their ass.
After being an alcoholic for several years and recently giving it up to focus on my health, your content really helps me. Denial is rough, I did it for years. Thanks Kiana!
@KyleHultman Good on You, Brotha!! Alcohol is hard for a lot of ppl to walk away from! I know a few recovering alcoholics, and despite their struggles with temptations, they(like Yourself) know that they made the right choice by staying away from alcohol. Andrew Huberman has an excellent video on the effects of alcohol. Keep up the work, We stand with You!

"We ain't used to that kind of intelligement." It was this moment that my husband, who learned English as a second language, looked over at me and said, "that's not a word."
Imagine telling your spouse who wipes down your body that they are selfish. Freddy's commitment is above and beyond, and with no reciprocation. Edit: I am adding to my original comment. Apparently nobody reads replies, but I acknowledged someone's very early reply that I posted my comment before finishing the video. Upon further watching, I did realize that Freddy is definitely not helping. Please stop bothering to post your reply to that effect. It's been said. I know. You don't have to tell me for the five thousandth time.
I love how the topics Kiana talks about in these videos can be applied to so many parts of our real lives. I feel like I gain a lot of information from these videos 😊
Whenever my boyfriend and I are in an argument one of us will go "But, do you believe in god?" and it makes us both laugh and the argument usually ends. 🤣 So one good thing came out of that 600lb life episode 🤣
Dr Now has so much patience. I could never deal with personalities like these. I know they’re all addicts, but I genuinely would get so burnt out doing his job
I agree, they are not only in denial, but some of them are straight up stupid and mean as well. I admire his calm and patience. I couldn't face this degree of complete disconnect with reality, decency and absolute absence of manners.
@@raimeyewens7518That was the only reason why the husband stuck around. He'd rather wipe her ass and live off her government check than go out and get a job.
I literally have to do a food journal on an app to stay accountable to what I eat otherwise I will be out of control with the snacks. Writing it down really helps me with accountability, I’m not one of those people that can just eat whatever and stay in shape, I have to work at it and be intentional. Schenee should do a food journal!!
Same here--it's easy to think "it's one little thing" and then it's suddenly not. I was having a crappy day yesterday and hit the store and a big piece of carrot sheet cake was there. I considered getting it (though I'd mostly avoided sugar the past few weeks) and I checked the nutrition info underneath, thinking I could do an extra workout to compensate. 860 cals and 35 grams of fat. I put that thing down quick and walked away. No way was I gonna consider such a thing again. Though I love working out now (I actually don't feel human if I don't get my morning workout in), it would take hours to undo that damage, my stomach would hate me for the quick sugar rush and I'd get nauseous, my sleep would be interrupted and I'd overdo it on dinner and mess up all the progress I'd made the past week. Nope, not gonna throw a monkey wrench like that in when the scale is finally going down instead of back and forth on the same .4 lbs.
@@keepdancingmaria 🤣 I'm sure there are 1 or 2 food journals with flowy script, flowers, and bible quotes on every page. Every other type of journal seems to have a "devotional" version, after all...
It's necessary thing to do for everyone. Tracking your food through apps helps a lot. Thats how you stay in shape and have good health. Otherwise it will catch up with age most of the time.
I'm not into weight loss stuff. Never even had any problem with my weight but i just love your content. The only problem is that they ain't 1,5 hours long lol
Hahah well I mean all the videos are really about personal development / behaviour change so they're applicable to everyone!! I just can't seem to find many tv shows relevant to behaviour change that aren't weight related LOL & Thank you!

@@peterroe2993 Just keep her away from the Jeremy Kyle Show 😅 but seriously are there no reality shows covering substance abuse and other compulsive behaviours? What about "Hoarders?"
This is one of the best episodes of 600 lbs Life and if you watch it without realizing how you enable your bad behavior then I feel really bad for you.
Agree. This was such a crazy episode. I definitely played "My 600lb Life Bingo" to this episode!! So much denial. So many great Dr. Now quotes. Endless entertainment and education at the same time. I never want to be even close to having that mentality.
Sure, she's a piece of work, but there's no way she was taking herself to the drive-through or even walking to the front door to collect a delivery. Freddy was enabling her for sure.
@doradodo1503 _sabotaging her intentionally?_ You've heard Schenee complain and whine and you jump to "sabotaging intentionally" and not "worn the fuck down and doesn't know what to do anymore because any attempt at genuine help would be met with emotional abuse"?
Kiana's room decor is so cozy and gorgeous, I love it! Also this is a potent example of denial that can be applied to any addiction; another banger as always!
9:31 "The only things you do is wipe my a$$ and wash up." Good luck finding a partner that is willing to do that. If he's willing to do that, he's already doing far more than what's expected in a relationship. To downplay those actions, shows how she doesn't understand how relationships normally works. She basically just views him as a caregiver instead of a partner.
Just like in cheating situations, the one cheating starts accusing the other partner of misbehavior. Everything she’s yelling at him, she should be saying to herself. People really only see themselves.
Reminds me of my father that was over 300 pounds and also said all of his weight was water weight... He died of an obesity related stroke in his sleep at age 50.
Such a great video. I spent a decade ignoring red flags in my marriage and it took another decade to unravel it all and get back to reality. Denial is powerful AF.
My sister is like this. No matter how much I point out her blatant bullshit she ALWAYS talks over me and ignores everything I say. Why won't she just listen??
It's always the enablers in this situation that I find most fascinating. Like literally what does Freddy get out of this relationship? He's wasting his life talking care of this thankless, awful woman. She's an anchor around his life literally pulling him down. Get out, Freddy! Run!
People are like that because of enablers…. I have had depression episodes but with a child de care for and no one around to clean my shit, I have to work and function everyday… Other people just lay in bed for weeks because their bills are paid and have someone cleaning their shit…. And I have zero tolerance for that! If there were no enablers…. i don’t think we would see millions of depressed people in the street… they would, like me, keep going!
@@relaxo2739 What a freaking cop out. People are like that because of enablers? Really? Like she can't take responsibility for her own addiction, and because he picks up her drugs, it's all his fault?! What he has is kinda like stockholm syndrome, except the emotional attachment happened first, then he became an emotional hostage. If it were the other way around, and the man was emotionally abusive while being overweight and requiring his wife to go get his food, I wonder how your perspective would all of the sudden change...
@@WhatIsMisophoniaI think what they meant is that enablers allow people to not face their problems and keep indulging in the destructive behavior whereas if they had no safety net they would be forced to change. Not that they aren't responsible for their own actions

That level of denial is truly scary. I can only imagine what set her on that path. Addiction is a tragedy. I hope both her and Freddy are in a much better place in their lives now.
Her mother is short and over weight as well so IMO I believe she has been overfed from birth. She really didn't even try and wasted an opportunity to change her life.
I'm not even happy for Shenee and her progress. :( She is such an awful human being that it's almost impossible to root for her even if she has lost some weight. I pity her baby. It's up for a lot of trauma.
Sometimes when someone does everything for you, you come to expect it and lose your gratitude towards the situation, its very much observed in parents who spoil their children.
Honestly, thanks to informational content from TH-camrs like you, Michelle McDaniel, Will Tenny, Coach Greg, etc; I managed to rewrite my habits and get back in shape. Went from 265lbs to 195lbs, thanks in no small part to your educational material. Keep up the content. 👍
I love that you made this video. Denial is so downplayed (or maybe I fear it in particular) I've grown up with people who are hardcore deniers. You can watch their eyes glass over and lose their luster as the denial script takes over their body. Chills me in my marrow every time 😢 that husbands life is my nightmare fuel
It is funny how perfect the timing of this video is. I passed an engineer exam a long ago and the results are not something to be proud of. Because at the time I was preparing I was at a very low point in my life. But today (wich is the day the results are out) I accepted my reality and decided to try again next year. Embracing whole heartedly the fact that I poorly prepared and that I can just try again. Typical me a year ago would just be mad and sad thinking why did I fail and not do well compared to other students. Your videos are like a reminder to me that my worst enemy is my self and that I should be more aware and more gentle to my self. Thank you, you deserve all the love and success
Damn she pulled the God card, the one guy who they say will literally hold you accountable for all your actions and judge you, the dude who gives you a manual for living that includes "don't overeat" right on it! holy moly she's so crazy...
Point me to a verse that says "don't overeat". Like, explicitly. There's maybe one in Proverbs, but that more decries it for inducing poverty, comparing it to alcoholism. Sort of. That "Seven Deadly Sins" thing? Yeah, they're not explicitly in there anywhere. That's a product of later theological interpretations.
@@Nixeu42 Is theological interpretation by the church not valid then? Because the whole bible is the product of theologians interpreting different books, passages and letters according to tradition in the Holy Spirit and discerning what is to be included and what is to be labeled a heresy. The correct question is “does the tradition of the church hold gluttony as a sin?” There is definitely an answer to that question if you are interested. And yes there are passages alluding to overeating, more notably Luke 6:25 “Woe unto you that are full now, for you shall hunger” where Christ was going through all the excesses that could damn your soul, the rich, the famous, the glutton, the immature. Christ constantly spoke against excess giving his disciples specific instructions to "take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness" (Luke 21:34). Surfeiting literally means overeating. This warning is carried forth by Paul in a letter to the Ephesians: "be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess" (Ephesians 5:18). His warning is about excess and his example is drunkenness. The seven deadly sins of the Catholics are based on the 8 deadly passions identified by Paul in Galatians 5, which includes drunkenness. Paul often uses the word drunkenness to describe excesses of the stomach, as over drinking in those days was much more common than overeating. Beyond that we also have very specific instructions from illuminated Saints that are much more clear.
@@steelfalconx2000 Interpretations are opinions, and I suspect you know what they say about those. That's one reason amongst many that I'm an atheist. I'm also someone who thinks looking for metaphor and symbolism in a text is closer to a Rorschach test, 99% of the time. Tells you way more about the person making the judgement than either the text or the original author. Since I also don't believe in the Holy Spirit, that argument falls flat too. Honestly, you'd be much better off reading it straight through and learning the historical context of the Bible if you actually want to understand it, IMO. Especially the letters of Paul. How those ended up going through the Councils and getting canonized is a mystery to me. That said, I will admit that there does seem to be more basis to your claim than I found, though I still would love to know more about the context of those passages. I don't think you can pull lines from a text and understand them properly unless you know what the lines around them are saying. Finally, and amusingly, i do believe that all of what you cited is New Testament (though I could be wrong), so I guess none of that applies if you're Jewish. Maybe the dietary laws around what's kosher are complex enough that they figured it would dissuade gluttony. Cthulhu knows my dad (who's an Orthodox Jew) has a hard enough time finding places to eat. Tends to cost more, too.
@@Nixeu42 I get what you're saying, and honestly most of the Bible is interpretation. The protestant view that the Bible is the only truth is also flawed because it misses the complete lesson, one that can be understood by both Scripture and the tradition. It would be hard to accept interpretations if you also don't believe in holy illumination, when one can obtain discernment from God to make some judgments about the faith. In the early days only the word of people who clearly lived in the Spirit was taken seriously, and even then a council would decide, according to the Scripture and the oral tradition, whether or not something had any merit. Unfortunately there are few Christians like that today, especially in the West. You can say I'm a Christian but I don't identify with most people that call themselves Christians today, they are a sinful judgemental bunch, unwilling and unable to actually carry their own cross. In order to live in Christ you must give up yourself. On your last point, yes it's mostly all new testament except for Proverbs. I give a lot of weight to the word of Christ. The thought of Jews not being able to overeat anyway due to really restrictive rules is kind of hilarious. Also remember that Christians also have the traditional fast they are supposed to keep, every Wednesday and Friday, as a way to temper the passions of this world. Modern Christianity has conveniently forgotten about that. Anyway, I appreciate your respectful tone, I hope one day curiosity gets the better of you and you end up in a church service 😆.
The perfect response Doctor Now should’ve said when she asked if he believed in God is this and I would say the same thing, “Okay think about this, what if God’s plan was to send me to help you and you’re not accepting God by not letting me help you because he gave me the knowledge of science to pass on to you to help you and you not following this plan is you rejecting the Lord’s help.” There is a great story where a man is stuck in a flood or a fire and multiple people try to help him including neighbors, firefighters and police in helicopters, but the man says no and claims God will save him. The man dies and goes to heaven and says to God, “Lord why didn’t you save me, I prayed and praised you and asked you to save me.” And God replied, “What are you talking about, I sent help to you. I sent your neighbor to save you and you did not respond, I sent the police to save you and you didn’t respond and I sent the firemen to save you but you rejected their help.” The lord works in mysterious ways, some ways you never expect
I think lying to yourself is super dangerous because people normally who lie to themselves will never believe anyone until it's too late you can't run away from the truth because it's always there and I think just putting it to water weight is super unhealthy and just gaslighting yourself.
I'm struggling with my own weight and eating habits... your videos always serve as a healthy reminder of what paths/mindsets NOT to go down. Your content helps a ton :))
I absolutely was in denial about my weight for a while. I saw my photos and knew I looked bigger. But I convinced myself it was due to bloating. Then I went to the doctor and stopped on the scale and realized I was almost 180lbs at 5ft 2in. That shook me. I always said I'd do something if I got to 180lbs, but I never believed I would get there. I've totally changed how I eat and added exercise. I'm down at least 10lbs now. But yes, denial can be very dangerous.
When you're younger, so many things are different... I'm 5'6" and in high school I was around 140 and could bench press 311. I had almost no body fat, and the only guy in my graduating class that could bench more than me was so big he couldn't even bench his own weight. However, I was a sugar fiend. My dad was a type 2 diabetic and died of liver failure several months ago. He kept warning me, saying: "I was around your age (late 30's) when I started gaining weight; Don't let it get out of control". I looked at myself in the mirror, saw my round face, the fact that I'd lost so much muscle that my arms looked like twigs compared to what they used to be, my lack of endurance these days, and finally, the fact that my stomach was sticking out further than my chest... I told my self a while back, "If I ever start getting big, I'd at least nip it in the bud before turning into one of these bloated monsters", and now I have to put my money where my mouth is, pardon the pun. I jog and do some resistance training on the regular now, and I'm on a mostly high fat, high protein, low carb diet, and I'm trying to get as much ultra processed food out of my diet as I can; It is freaking hard though. The food industry could stand to be a little less poisonous. Take bread as a perfect example: When you mill grain, the lion's share of the nutrients very quickly oxidize and become useless in days. This will also happen to the baked bread, as those nutrients are not stable just because they've been baked. Honestly, these days with all of the wheat we have available, we should really be more concerned about bread loosing its nutrient value than it spoiling, since it will loose its value before it spoils anyway. Back in the day, bakers would get grain shortly after it's milled and bake it fresh every day so that people can buy it every few days or so when they run low. In places like France where they still do this, people are pretty thin despite eating starchy bread on the regular. The fact that in the US we live in the so called "bread basket" of the world, yet in most parts you can't really get legit quality bread anymore unless you buy the whole granules and mill them yourself at home like our ancient freaking ancestors is pretty weird. Americans are so disconnected from their food, it's not even funny. It's really no wonder we're sick.
Powerful video, I’m a recovering alcoholic coming up to 3 years sober and 100% relate to denial and how it protected me, when I was no longer in denial I fell into a severe depression and my addiction got worse until I got sick and tired of being sick and tired and got help. Love your videos btw
I wonder if Dr. Now feels bad about how many people he could've saved but they just didn't wanna be saved. Sure, it's tough for these people too, but the amount of people that he sees and can't help must be depressing.
Nah. He might feel disappointed that some cash cow client isn't sticking around ,but there are always a dozen more hammering at the doors. This isn't a charity with some soft-hearted kindly old doctor, this is a TV show that needs drama to keep going.

My aunt works as a nurse in a clinic that specializes in eating disorders but mostly anorexia. She knows half of those teenagers will leave the hospital in a coffin and after almost 40 years it still makes her cry. Dr Now is probably no different, tho he doesn’t get to see his patients die.
As someone who works in a helping profession, you just gotta remind yourself that your patients’ choices are theirs to make and theirs alone. It really sucks seeing someone fall victim to the consequences of their actions but if I let myself take the blame for not saving someone I’d burn out sooo fast. All I can do is offer potential solutions, whether or not someone wants to take them is their responsibility
I appreciate that emphasized that Schenee is exhibiting behaviors that we all have plenty of experience with. You're not talking about her as if she is impossible to relate to, even to the extent of explaining her cruel treatment of her husband as a symptom of her denial. Very classy way of presenting the subject matter.
Kiana’s video’s always fuel my walks and sometimes workouts to keep that mental fire burning for a better life. The simple yet effective knowledge she shares is incredible.
She lost the weight because she got a new man. She needs external reasons to do the right thing. Many of us lose weight for reasons other than our health. We do it because we broke up with someone and we're back on the market, but as soon as we are in a relationship the pounds come back on. We need to be motivated by health and personal responsibility, but sadly, we're not.
As someone dealing with a different addiction, I’ll say denial for me was also about protecting myself. Nothing changes if nothing changes- but what is life after the change? Is who/how I am really fundamentally wrong? That’s hard to accept. It’s easier to say it was just that one day, that one reason, that one circumstance. The reality obviously is that one bad day doesn’t create five bad years- it IS YOU.
Bodybuilders are usually eating 10,000 calories of whole foods like baked chicken, rice, and broccoli. It's hard to choke down 10K calories of that. It's extremely easy to eat 10,000 calories of ultraprocessed, highly palatable, highly caloric chips, pizzas, takeaways, microwave meals, cheesy potatoes, etc.
@@victoryfaction oh yeah that's also true, eating a large pizza in one sitting is easier than eating an entire rotisserie chicken even though the pizza has way more calories (I've done both)
@victoryfaction not really.....my app lists 10,000 calories as 3 large cans of pringles 2*16 inch thick meat pizza's, two pounds of lasagna, one pound of chocolate and one pound of cheese. Its the equivalent of eating 5 pounds of pure sugar or two and a half pints of cooking oil. EVERY DAY!!!
@@peterroe2993uh, your app is wrong. Those are all high calorie foods but three cans of Pringles or a pound of chocolate or cheese is between 1,500 and 2,500 calories, not 10,000.
Ive had a patient with extreme denial before. 500-ish pounds. Tells us she hasntl't eaten for days, often goes days without eating. With us she ate so many snacks in order to have some for other patients we had to tell her we ran out. She would then the next morning say she hasn't eaten in days, didnt est any dinner, that we refused to give her snacks all night (we gave her something along the lines of 3 sandwiches, 5 ice creamq, too many graham crackers to count) She was ADAMANT she's starving herself and her weight makes no sense it must be water weight ect. Sometimes I think these people need to be recorded like that show Secret Eaters
Keep it up man! It’s gonna feel so fulfilling. I lost 60 pounds a couple years ago by having a physical job and staying distracted away from snacks:) You’re gonna love your results.
"I can't eat spaghetti without sugar." Oof. That punched me in the gut. I used to put sugar in my spaghetti AND add extra sauce cuz that's what my Mom used to do. That hit real close to home.
Oh my! Never heard from of adding sugar to spaghetti. 😮 But more interesting though is I think how attached we tend to be to the food we ate growing up and to the way our parents made them. That is something that I, myself, had had learn to move on from. Now, I have learnt to make food that I can really enjoy but that is nothing like what I used to eat growing up.
@@sunniermoonif you're making your own tomato sauce from scratch a small pinch of sugar can help with the acidity from the tomato juice. Not a lot, just a pinch. If you're using pre-made sauce do not do that, they already added probably too much sugar.
Can you do a video focusing more on the partners of these morbidly obesed people? Like what drives the partner to keep enabling them… Maybe a sense of guilt, being too attached, or not having a courage to walk away. That would be an interesting & new topic! Big Fan!❤
I would say it's classic co-dependency as seen in the relationship between any other kind of addict and their spouse/enabler. A lot of times that behaviour is something that is learned in the family of origin. For example, my Father was an alcoholic and both my Mother (his first wife) and my Stepmother ( his second wife) had Fathers who were alcoholics.
For what I have seen, is ehiter abuse (the obese person would usually get verbally abusive towards their partner if not given food) and the partner gives in, in order to avoid confrontations. Or the partner is straight forward a feeder and seeing their partner eating and getting progressively bigger is a fetish
Food addiction is the hardest one to deal with. You can't just go cold turkey on food. I think the mental side of food addiction needs to be explored way more.
Everyone says this, but I actually disagree. You can easily find replacements for high calorie foods, eat those, and still get close to the enjoyable eating experience you had with the high calorie foods. You can just replace a habit with something similar. And you can still do it in the same situations as before - like while watching TH-cam or TV or whatever. You can still do the same stuff you did, but you get less calories, and your health improves. This is not possible with alcohol, cocaine, or whatever. It's possible to some degree with cigarettes if you use e-cigarettes. But other than that, cold turkey is the only way to go, and cold turkey is the hardest way to do it. You're not just replacing those habits, you're flat out removing them. Also, there isn't even any scientific evidence for "food addiction". Some type of food dependence, maybe, yea, there's some data, but even that's not that much.
"Food addiction" is actually not a scientific term. There are certain ultra processed foods that are addictive, but an addiction to food as a whole is not a thing. It's usually either an addiction to certain junk foods(that are basically made to be addictive) or a type of disordered eating - like stress overeating, BED etc. I know what you mean, I just don't like this particular term because an addiction is an actual medical diagnosis and shouldn't be used as a buzzword.
You are right! Therapy is the biggest thing that made me change my life. It showed me exactly why I was doing what I was doing and how to stop it. Learn to love myself.
@@kaoryakasaka6835 I don't think that even those processed foods are "addictive". Cocaine is addictive. Heroin is addictive. Nicotine is addictive. Even then most processed of processed foods just - isn't. When I've been in the process of quitting smoking, I've woken up in the middle of the night craving a cigarette. This never happens with any food, ever. People who say food is addictive have never been hooked on anything.
Kitty!!! Gotta love when kitties are seen in videos! Also this episode of My 600lbs life was really shocking... I really admire Dr Now for having as much patience as he does when trying to help these people as they are a lot of the time, in denial of the severity of their situation and sometimes also unwilling to change until really getting a proper wakeup call. It's also awful how things just go this far for people, where they get so big that they lose their independence and not even being able to bathe themselves, cook, go to the store etc. Like WTF...
Im two months out of a relationship that had too many red flags. It was hurting my health physically, I started drinking too much, gained weight, and just stressed and pessimistic all the time. I feel a lot better and still wish the best for my ex partner, just separately.
You’re not mean or unvirtuous if you don’t wish you shiddy ex well. It’s totally fine to not gaf, or be happy that they have to live with their bs without you.
As a former morbidly obese woman, I didn’t start losing weight until I wanted to. Nobody can do it for you. I was 265 pounds in September of last year and I am now 183 pounds now. I am still going strong. And I have a rare genetic heart condition(ventricular tachycardia with Long QT Syndrome). I went into cardiac arrest 9 times and was without oxygen for 15 minutes and I wasn’t supposed to walk out of that hospital bed. But I woke up(by the grace of Jesus Christ) and I had to go through intensive physical and occupational therapy for 5 weeks and I was able to walk out of the hospital. I have a ICD(Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator) and it took me 4 years to get into shape because I was so exhausted and depressed and I was diagnosed with PTSD from being in a coma and I ate my feelings for a while. After my boyfriend broke up with me I started losing weight and working out at home and I have never been happier or healthier even with my heart condition. I will never be that big again.
This reminds me of amberlynn reid..when she loses any weight she claims it is her hard work and when she gains any she claims it is water retention...smh
I'd like to watch a documentary about people like Freddy because I often cannot tell whether they are villains or victims in the stories of these Super Obese people. On the one hand when someone is literally too fat to move on their own does that not mean you can control whatever they eat? On the other hand there seems to be an underlying relationship dynamic where the obese person guilt trips and manipulates their loved one into doing what they want.
He was in denial almost as hard as her. It’s hard when you realise that the naive, beliefs and attitudes you held towards love and relationships, have just been tempered by experience. Good for him, getting out
Kiana: “Let me use an example we’ve all experienced. Having a relationship despite red flags.” Me: “Uhhh yeah. I can relate. That totally has happened because I’ve had lots of relationships. Uh-huh.”
Tbh I think the idea can be applied to relationships broadly, not just romantic relationships. I know for me when she said that my first thought was a friendship I had that, in hindsight, should’ve ended years before it did because they were just not a good person
@@abigailchiesa1337 yes exactly, i had such a toxic best friendship and i'm just grateful i got out of it when i did. it was 8 years of belittlement and manipulation though
I’m a Christian who received a very thorough and mature education in theology as a child. I don’t really need much of that to rip apart her silly excuses and abuse of religion to support her delusion. But even if people are NOT Christian-I highly recommend learning as much as you can about the dominant religion of your culture so you can deal with people misusing it. Not to hurt them (if you’re angry with religion, so something else please) but to make sure religion can’t be used in the terrible ways it sometimes is to hurt themselves and others.
He should have said, "Well I hope YOU believe in God, because you'll meet him before I do". Ok, that's mean 😅 Maybe he could have said, "I'm your doctor, not your pastor. You want to talk about spiritual health, there's a church down the road. I'm here because of your physical health."
Freddie walked out on Schenee in early 2020. She was homeless and abusing drugs for a couple of years after that. That's how she lost weight. Now that she's back in Indy she's put most of that weight back on. She considered her pregnancy an eat all you want free-for-all. Her baby was born May 1 and she hasn't lost a pound.
It's interesting that Schenee was able to lose that much weight even with pregnancy all. I'm wondering if this happened after Freddy got out of the picture or he left Schenee and that was the reality check she needed perhaps? If anyone knows something, please share! I feel like it's such a cliffhanger lol
I have an aunt who used to say stuff like "if God wanted me thin, he'd make it happen." Luckily she is trying to lose weight now. She was 4'10 and over 200lbs. Her body wasn't going to last long. Her knees are shot now.
My very religious mom always had a simple, but very effective, figure of speech that she used on my siblings and I all the time. I actually thank her for it now: "God helps those who help themselves." She drummed that into us constantly. And it's true! So damn true!
Well, sometimes doctors operate on outdated information; Sometimes the diets they recommend are not actually the best; Like telling you to go on a low-fat diet when the carbs are more of an issue, especially if you're diabetic and have no insulin sensitivity. Many doctors still operate on the old paradigm that saturated fat is a primary cause of health issues, or may have an outdated understanding of cholesterol. Personal bias also enters into the equation and can change from doctor to doctor. And of course they like to put you on drugs too; some being helpful, others not so much.
How does she get all that food? Does her husband buy it for her or does she order it herself? If the problem was that extreme with someone I cared about, I'd take away their phone and ask hospital staff to not let delivery guys into her room with the pizza.. ffs
That's really easier said than done... When someone is an addict, the only person who can help them is themselves. You can't forcefully sober someone up. No matter how hard you try. And when it's something like food addiction, it's even harder to change. It's not exactly like someone can go cold turkey on food. I have a cousin who's like this and her mom tried to take over and make her eat healthier and more balanced foods. All that did is just make her binging worse. When someone refuses to recover, there's nothing you can do.
@@CT-mw8lmit's different when someone is bed bound or nearly bed bound. If he stopped supplying the junk foods and fast food, she literally would not have been able to access it
I cannot imagine how much you have to eat to gain 30 lbs in one month. This is like what, 125 000 calories? A normal chocolate bar has 500 calories. That means 250 bars of chocolate in a month, so 8-9 a day on top of your daily intake to hold your current weight (which is not a small amount to begin with at her weight).
@@lotsaspaghettimamaluigi At least for us Europeans it's usually about 500 calories per chocolate bar. Our chocolate bars usually are 100 g (= 0,22 lbs). When you have fancy chocolate, like something with hazel nut or caramel or brownie something, it's even more, up to 560 calories per bar. I don't know what your serving sizes are in the US, so I wanted to clarify my reference. That means my calculation of 8-9 chocolate bars would be nearly 1 kg of chocolate (800-900 g) or nearly 2 lbs of chocolate every single day for a whole month on top of your normal calorie intake to gain 30 lbs in a month. No shaming her, just a visualization what it would take and how unhealthy a diet has to be to gain weight like this.
I remember this woman- saying if god wants her to lose weight, it'll happen. Whatever happened to "god helps those who helps themselves"...? So many of the patients on this show are just dismissive and cruel to their partners/spouses, I have noticed. There are definately bad support systems and bad spouses on the other end as well, but it always irks me to see someone who is basically giving up their life to live someone else's for them being treated as if they should be grateful.
16:17 I’ve noticed this about people with this mindset. This lack of self control. They do much better, even become happier, when they are in a facility and have a set schedule. Someone else making the decisions for them. I’ve seen this behavior in several people close to me as well. They are also morbidly obese.
Yo, the determination for you to redo this video! I can't stop watching your videos. XD You talk about the issues in such a down-to-Earth way. Even if the issues don't pertain to us, I always find you tie it back to some big overarching theme. Happy I got to watch new content today! :D
And it doesn't occur to her that perhaps God WAS helping her--by sending her to Dr. Now! I don't believe anymore, but the "convenience belief" or the "weaponized belief" like she was doing infuriates me most. I know some true believers who'd never dream of doing that, and a bunch of sunny-day ones who pull this crap all the time. It's like someone pulling out the race card or sexism card during an argument: they're just trying to get out of an argument they're losing more often than not and distract the person they're trying to convince with a non-issue. This crap is frustrating and why I don't deal with certain people I grew up with anymore.

"You're not 700lbs of water!" One of my favourite Dr. Now quotes.
😂
if she was 700lbs of water she would fit inside a large travel bag, since fat is less dense than water, it takes more space for the same mass.
If she was 700 lbs of water, she would be only 0.3 cubic meters.
Was that a water pizza. 😅
@dormiebasne3578 that is true for a regular person, not for a morbidly obese person
I also can't believe she actually told her husband he's selfish. SELFISH. How insane to see that amount of unawareness, it's horrific and tragic.

Writing it down really helps me with accountability, I’m not one of those people that can just eat whatever and stay in shape, I have to work at it and be intentional. Schenee should do a food journal!!
By her attitude, no way she would do that.
Only if the journal believes in god.

Damn she pulled the God card, the one guy who they say will literally hold you accountable for all your actions and judge you, the dude who gives you a manual for living that includes "don't overeat" right on it! holy moly she's so crazy...
@steelfalcon2000 Agreed!! gluttony is definitely a sin!!
The perfect response Doctor Now should’ve said when she asked if he believed in God is this and I would say the same thing, “Okay think about this, what if God’s plan was to send me to help you and you’re not accepting God by not letting me help you because he gave me the knowledge of science to pass on to you to help you and you not following this plan is you rejecting the Lord’s help.”
There is a great story where a man is stuck in a flood or a fire and multiple people try to help him including neighbors, firefighters and police in helicopters, but the man says no and claims God will save him. The man dies and goes to heaven and says to God, “Lord why didn’t you save me, I prayed and praised you and asked you to save me.” And God replied, “What are you talking about, I sent help to you. I sent your neighbor to save you and you did not respond, I sent the police to save you and you didn’t respond and I sent the firemen to save you but you rejected their help.”
The lord works in mysterious ways, some ways you never expect
I think lying to yourself is super dangerous because people normally who lie to themselves will never believe anyone until it's too late you can't run away from the truth because it's always there and I think just putting it to water weight is super unhealthy and just gaslighting yourself.
I'm struggling with my own weight and eating habits... your videos always serve as a healthy reminder of what paths/mindsets NOT to go down. Your content helps a ton :))
I lie to myself daily. "You're doing great me" "im not hungry" "your mustache is on point today ypu handsome devil you" sometimes it works😂
Wahoo! Self care and positive self talk is great help!! 💪💪💪
NOT FLUSTRATED!!! Girl you got me with that one, casual af 😂😂😂
@@juliajs1752pretty kind how he’s the only one willing to even operate on these 500+ patients.Other doctors turn them away no matter how much money they offer.
I think he has expressed how challenging this is. He wants to help but he can't enable them. He can only help those who want to help themselves. The statistics are really rough. 😢
Imagine seeing Dr. Now walking into your hospital room with a pizza box. That was her chance to come clean.
I wish I was this early to class.
Amen. 🙏
Wahoo!! Fuel that fire!! 🔥💪🔥💪
100%
Listen at her mom in the background "Scheneee" you right there eating with Schenee..She was her enabler..
Lol she got so mad at the doctor that she lost weight without his help just to spite him. I love when people are petty like that.
Reverse psychology?
How are you spite someone who wants to help you by doing what they wanted? XD That beyond me but that kind of a petty is good i guess
it's literally that looney tunes skit 😂 "you DONT wanna!"
Sounds like something I would do honestly lmao
As someone dealing with a different addiction, I’ll say denial for me was also about protecting myself. Nothing changes if nothing changes- but what is life after the change? Is who/how I am really fundamentally wrong? That’s hard to accept. It’s easier to say it was just that one day, that one reason, that one circumstance. The reality obviously is that one bad day doesn’t create five bad years- it IS YOU.
Perfectly said! Wishing you strength in whatever you’re facing, you got this
Bodybuilders with experience buling struggle with the 10k calorie challenge, yet Schenee casually eats that on a daily basis. This is insane.
you have to eat all throughout the day even when you feel like throwing up to be able to pull something like that off, unless you're 600lbs apparently
18:22 love the catto casually yawning and then picking at the flower
“Only” and “wipe my ass” should pretty much never be used in a sentence.
"i will only agree to wipe your ass if you are a literal baby"
there's always a way :D
except when it’s your baby 😂
I’ll let someone who’s genuinely disabled say it (as in, not self-inflicted) but this chick ain’t that. 😮
Ive had a patient with extreme denial before. 500-ish pounds. Tells us she hasntl't eaten for days, often goes days without eating. With us she ate so many snacks in order to have some for other patients we had to tell her we ran out. She would then the next morning say she hasn't eaten in days, didnt est any dinner, that we refused to give her snacks all night (we gave her something along the lines of 3 sandwiches, 5 ice creamq, too many graham crackers to count)
She was ADAMANT she's starving herself and her weight makes no sense it must be water weight ect. Sometimes I think these people need to be recorded like that show Secret Eaters
Thank you Kiana. Your videos are helping me to stay motivated on my weight loss journey. 10lbs down, 60 to go 👍
You got this!
Keep it up man! It’s gonna feel so fulfilling. I lost 60 pounds a couple years ago by having a physical job and staying distracted away from snacks:) You’re gonna love your results.
What are you doing to loose the weight
Videos like this keep me motivated to stick to my intermittent fasting regimen
"I can't eat spaghetti without sugar."
Oof. That punched me in the gut. I used to put sugar in my spaghetti AND add extra sauce cuz that's what my Mom used to do. That hit real close to home.
That doesn't even sound nice.
that sounds disgusting
You're supposed to put a little bit if you're making sauce to cut the acidity of the tomatoes, but that's it.
@@StraightEdgeJunkieswear I've heard that sugar is more addictive than cocaine? and most of them are eating lots of it
Yes
That is outstanding 🎉 you should be so proud
This reminds me of amberlynn reid..when she loses any weight she claims it is her hard work and when she gains any she claims it is water retention...smh
Yup amber and FB are nothing but jokes
she just did it again last week lol
I'd like to watch a documentary about people like Freddy because I often cannot tell whether they are villains or victims in the stories of these Super Obese people. On the one hand when someone is literally too fat to move on their own does that not mean you can control whatever they eat? On the other hand there seems to be an underlying relationship dynamic where the obese person guilt trips and manipulates their loved one into doing what they want.
Her disability payments
Best part: her butt wiping husband moved on!
Hope he’s learned….
Denial-a real road to Hell.
Thanks for “cutting to the chase”, Kiana!
💜
He was in denial almost as hard as her. It’s hard when you realise that the naive, beliefs and attitudes you held towards love and relationships, have just been tempered by experience. Good for him, getting out
Kiana: “Let me use an example we’ve all experienced. Having a relationship despite red flags.”
Me: “Uhhh yeah.
Excellent advice.
this one is absolutely correct.
As a Christian from a non-Christian culture and region, you are absolutely right.
He should have said, "Well I hope YOU believe in God, because you'll meet him before I do". Ok, that's mean 😅 Maybe he could have said, "I'm your doctor, not your pastor. You want to talk about spiritual health, there's a church down the road. I'm here because of your physical health."
True…. Great advice
Over 10k calories a day. My brain can't even process that.
I'm a 6ft dude who is pretty overweight and she weighs more than 3 of me. That doesn't even seem possible...
she weighs about 5 of me...
Thanks for the update
It's interesting that Schenee was able to lose that much weight even with pregnancy all. I'm wondering if this happened after Freddy got out of the picture or he left Schenee and that was the reality check she needed perhaps? If anyone knows something, please share! I feel like it's such a cliffhanger lol
Kiana UGH I am so glad I found your channel - you are so incredibly talented in what you do and the way you speak. Keep ‘em coming !
Kiana I have to say, your room in the background looks so cozy and comfortable! Glad you seem to be living your best life
I didn't come here to be called out like this. 😂 this channel helps me to remember what I need to do. Ty
@pdruiz2005 definitely.. if you have the power within yourself, then you should take action. If you don't, pray for the strength.
Schenee was the perfect example for this topic. Imagine arguing with a doctor who has years of experience in treating people with her health problems

Classic 600lb Life reply..😂😂😂
I cannot imagine how much you have to eat to gain 30 lbs in one month.
This is like what, 125 000 calories? A normal chocolate bar has 500 calories. That means 250 bars of chocolate in a month, so 8-9 a day on top of your daily intake to hold your current weight (which is not a small amount to begin with at her weight).
@@Conval-wi5eh jesus chocolate bars have more calories than I thought
11:09 I love that you accurately quoted her as saying she's "flustrated", well done lol
Omg, she made me so mad watching her episode! Especially when she was confronted with that Pizza!
It's fast Freddie trying to pull a fast one 💅
Absolutely incredible to see she managed to turn it around. She was so in deep. That should give us all hope.
Don’t forget that using god as a n excuse in the way she did is against the bible. per her beliefs, shes going to hell for that one.
16:17 I’ve noticed this about people with this mindset. This lack of self control. They do much better, even become happier, when they are in a facility and have a set schedule. Someone else making the decisions for them.
I’ve seen this behavior in several people close to me as well. They are also morbidly obese.

*I got water weight* :/ it's tragic when people sell phrases to people to make money and people with real issues cling to them.
