What Howie doesn’t understand is the way Sandoval has spent years painting himself as “the good guy” on the show compared to other men who cheat and have classic toxic masculinity and painting their relationship in a certain way (ex: saying that because they aren’t married doesn’t mean their relationship is any less important than the married couples) and then he goes and carries out a 7month affair with his girlfriends close friend instead of just telling her and breaking up normally. Well the backlash is because Howie had Tom on his podcast lasting over an hour talking about the fact that he was having an 8 month long affair without ever having watched the show and knowing nothing about the people involved… Ive never listened to a 1 hr15 minute podcast where the podcaster knows absolutely nothing about the guest, and the only reason the guest is even there is because of his affair and there’s so much backlash because of Howie’s blasé attitude to Tom having an 8 month affair with his girlfriend of 9 years’ best friend…. “ What’s the big deal?” That’s just not something you say about an affair- Then Tom sits there for over 30 minutes, defending his affair, by saying that Ariana just didn’t catch on when he was dropping hints and throwing out hypotheticals and planting seeds of doubt about their relationship, and when she just didn’t catch on, he went on with the affair, and basically blamed it on Ariana‘s ignorance, and then blamed her for his not being able to break up with her because she was either too depressed or had too much anxiety or her dog died or her grandmother died so it was just never quite the right time to dump her… and pretty hypocritical of Tom to be talking about Ariana’s deep depression that made her isolate herself and stay in bed all day, and that made him really unhappy but then he excuses his own cheating behavior by stating how depressed and unhappy HE was about Ariana’s behavior but again, I think the reason so many people found Howie‘s podcast so bad was because his entire attitude was lighthearted, and not really addressing in a serious manner the extreme hurt and disrespect Tom caused to someone who’s only big mistake was loving Tom for so long…

I like that Howie did the interview with Tom because he was a neutral party asking the questions I'm glad he didn't know anybody. He was someone that was on the outside looking in and gave his honest opinion. Also whether Tom was speaking truth or not it was nice to hear from him. We've heard from everybody except for the three main people that was Tom, Ariana, and Raquel. I take mental health very seriously. I'm not condoning Tom's actions I feel that he is a jerk. However, it's time to leave Tom alone he knows what he's done and I do believe there is a little truth to his story. He says that Ariana punched him when he tried to break up with her. I don't know if this is true or not I was not in the room. However, there's a possibility that Tom may be the victim of domestic violence. And I don't play that.
Because he clearly cares about Tom.. can see that it's 6 week's later.. Tom's own 'friends' and present day and past castmates are weaponising their own podcasts etc.. so he felt it importnt to even out the playing field. The fact that it was done so randomly and evidently without any media training or much thought- indicates that Tom is deeply messed up with imo, mental health and addiction issues. I feel like many of the VPR cast are struggling or have struggled, with the aforementioned. The unfortunate part.. was the clear resentment Tom holds for Ariana.. whether that's justified or not, it was entirely inappropriate to show said resentment. What Howie doesn’t understand is the way Sandoval has spent years painting himself as “the good guy” on the show compared to other men who cheat and have classic toxic masculinity and painting their relationship in a certain way (ex: saying that because they aren’t married doesn’t mean their relationship is any less important than the married couples) and then he goes and carries out a 7month affair with his girlfriends close friend instead of just telling her and breaking up normally. The hypocrisy of Tom and the closeness of the friend group is really at the root of this scandal

Well the backlash is because Howie had Tom on his podcast lasting over an hour talking about the fact that he was having an 8 month long affair without ever having watched the show and knowing nothing about the people involved… Ive never listened to a 1 hr15 minute podcast where the podcaster knows absolutely nothing about the guest, and the only reason the guest is even there is because of his affair and there’s so much backlash because of Howie’s blasé attitude to Tom having an 8 month affair with his girlfriend of 9 years’ best friend…. “ What’s the big deal?”
That’s just not something you say about an affair-
Then Tom sits there for over 30 minutes, defending his affair, by saying that Ariana just didn’t catch on when he was dropping hints and throwing out hypotheticals and planting seeds of doubt about their relationship, and when she just didn’t catch on, he went on with the affair, and basically blamed it on Ariana‘s ignorance, and then blamed her for his not being able to break up with her because she was either too depressed or had too much anxiety or her dog died or her grandmother died so it was just never quite the right time to dump her… and pretty hypocritical of Tom to be talking about Ariana’s deep depression that made her isolate herself and stay in bed all day, and that made him really unhappy but then he excuses his own cheating behavior by stating how depressed and unhappy HE was about Ariana’s behavior but again, I think the reason so many people found Howie‘s podcast so bad was because his entire attitude was lighthearted, and not really addressing in a serious manner the extreme hurt and disrespect Tom caused to someone who’s only big mistake was loving Tom for so long…

I enjoyed the interview and watched it twice. Howie allowed Tom to speak. I dont think any other person in the industry does this better than Howie. He knows when to let the person get it off his or her chest. His daughter also knows how to do this. If you're going to have a guest on a podcast, let them speak. Hope they have Raquel on next.

The interview was really good. I love both Toms and Scheana is my fav. People need to watch Tom Sandovals and hear his side.
I like that Howie did the interview with Tom because he was a neutral party asking the questions I'm glad he didn't know anybody. He was someone that was on the outside looking in and gave his honest opinion. Also whether Tom was speaking truth or not it was nice to hear from him. We've heard from everybody except for the three main people that was Tom, Ariana, and Raquel. I take mental health very seriously. I'm not condoning Tom's actions I feel that he is a jerk. However, it's time to leave Tom alone he knows what he's done and I do believe there is a little truth to his story. He says that Ariana punched him when he tried to break up with her. I don't know if this is true or not I was not in the room. However, there's a possibility that Tom may be the victim of domestic violence. And I don't play that.

Because he clearly cares about Tom.. can see that it's 6 week's later.. Tom's own 'friends' and present day and past castmates are weaponising their own podcasts etc.. so he felt it importnt to even out the playing field. The fact that it was done so randomly and evidently without any media training or much thought- indicates that Tom is deeply messed up with imo, mental health and addiction issues. I feel like many of the VPR cast are struggling or have struggled, with the aforementioned. The unfortunate part.. was the clear resentment Tom holds for Ariana.. whether that's justified or not, it was entirely inappropriate to show said resentment. Personally, I feel like it's all a blessing in disguise.. and the people involved desperately need to be single for a while. I don't believe any of them are bad people.. just fucked up like most of us.. and I wish them all the very best.. including Tom and Raquel...
All of this happened in season 2 and im laughing at how everyone is freaking out. Ive never liked the Toms. They seem douchy to women, i actually preferred peter and jax, but anyways, kristen was gaslit by Tom and Arianna in season 2, and everyone stopped talking to her including stassi and katie…then they found out that she slept with jax , and of course they stopped talking to her, that was understandable. The point is, everyone swaps spit with everyone. Calm down everyone.
