Chad - look closely at the windshield in comparison to the rest of the glass. Halfassed Customs chopped a Hudson like this and he discovered too late how small the windshield looked after he lowered the the top. Hudson cars were designed with a higher cowl making the windshield appear smaller. That is a feature that set Hudson apart from the competition. Brent had to do a lot of restructuring to make it look proportional. I believe Chad is opening a huge can of worms.
For sure, I can see that happening. It’s an old story when you’re customizing cars……… sometimes less is more, as far as looks are concerned anyway. I’d suggest taking a ¾ view photo of the roof and hood and cutting & chopping the photo to get a preview before cutting any metal. ~ John B
Once Chad gets something in his head he does it, it doesnt matter to him if he makes a car that everybody else hates, it just doesnt matter to him, he already has a shed of Frankenstein's to prove it. Which by the way were built during his T.V. show, so they werent built by him alone.
Yup. Instead of a full chop many would only pancake the roof on these as the windshield was small enough. The side windows would look weird being smaller then the huge bubble roof above them, the 4 door Hudson had weird roof proportions, they were aiming for more visibility and lowered the side glass down from the cowl line.

Well, whatever you say about Chad, you have to admit he did whatever it took to get Jolene to make these videos. He really owes everything to her and of course the guys that built the cars when he apparently had a TV show? I don’t blame him one bit for taking advantage of the situation. Well, I miss the free hat drawings. I know it was just to get more viewers, but that didn’t bother me at all. It was good business and it worked out great for Jolene.
Square headed screws were invented in Canada and the inventor took the idea to Henry Ford since it was such a perfect idea for powered drivers. Henry was so impressed, he wanted in...but he wanted to buy the idea and then market himself to the rest of the world. This is why Robertson-headed screws have remained a Canadian-only product for about the last century.
I put my decking down with square drive screws about 6 yrs ago in Australia. I was really impressed with how they performed, never had an issue, but I don’t recall them being called Robertson screws so maybe someone has pinched the idea. 53:01 😊
In the movie industry in Vancouver most of our shows are LA studio productions. At show rap lots of props, set dressing and even set pieces get sent down for possible reshoots or display. The most fragile and valuable get special crates made screwed together with Robertson screws, screws are circled with a Sharpie and thoughtfully a note is usually left on the crate… …“BIT INSIDE”

I don’t know why chad didn’t correct the previous owner that he was going to chop it and make it unrecognizable. Don’t get me wrong I love it when he takes junk and turns it into a masterpiece. But this would be like turning a Camaro into a clown car.

Chad and Jolene. The Australian videos were over the top. I did not realize that the car culture was as great as it is down under. The have the warm weather that works on their behalf, unlike some of us who have to deal with the winters.....
Hi Chad & Jolene, hopefully you two got the opportunity to get a little rest after your travels and work at the motorama doing the chop and the rest of it all. It is very nice of you to offer the car up for sale so that if someone feels that strongly about restoring the Hudson and can afford it they have the opportunity to do so. Thank you to both of you for all your hard work providing us with great learning experiences as always.
G'day Brad and Jolene. This is going to be awesome. The direction you're taking for the chop is one I'm looking forward to watching. Also thanks for visiting the best country on earth. Watching you guys touring around made my day. You and Jolene put a smile on so many faces. ✌️ Peace from Melbourne Australia.
After your Aussie trip I was very proud of you. Now you are telling us that if we are not happy with chopping the top we can buy it for he absurd price of ten thousand. I restore cars and trucks as drivers and your estimates for things like glass, brakes and tires is totally crazy. Tires from Coker are about $250 each. Brake shoes are about $20 an axle from NAPA. Flex lines are $15 and you would need three. The windshield is flat glass at about $200. The old man who owned the car was very happy that you were going to respect his old car. So now I can predict that you will chop the top and then forget about the car. I think you are a sheet metal wizard and did a superb job on the 33 in Toronto and watch all of your shows but today I have lost faith. I won’t watch the the remaining videos on the Hudson.
Just cut the roof off at the upper pillar ,throw the rest of the body away and then weld the roof to the chassis. You'll have the look you're after. Actually, you could make it even sexier by channelling the roof over the chassis so the edges are dragging on the ground. That would be low enough , wouldnt it?Or put the roof on the ground and weld the chassis on top. Wow, the possibilities are endless.
It is so respectful of you guys to offer up the Hudson to anyone who feels strongly enough to restore it. I am glad you seem to be back to your normal self today Chad. I certainly hope you are over your jet lag. Have a wonderful day Chad and Jolene. 😊
Bad Chad, a name is everything, especially when you are concerned. Much respect. I think this car would look great chopped and left a four door. You the man. I lost my best friend a couple of years ago, my cousin Nick, you remind me of him, it is uncanny. He was a great artist as well (oil painter). Anyway, keep working dude, the world needs these cars. Tony
The more i think about it - the maximum I would chop would be 1.5". Keeps the original look with a slight change that would be exquisite and clean. Lowering is not an issue and i agree that it would look good. It's your call Chad. Jolene is amazing with her camera work as always. FINA is so sweet.
Wow! Nobody gives a rats what you think. Your such a blohole just slob all over Chad's D. If there's a award for being a beta Ahole sucking douche. YOU ARE THE WINNER.

Anyone who tells another man what to do with his car is goofy and probably doesn't have a car and Def never built one. There is no history with this car, every old car has its own story so if u watch this channel you have to know every car he's chopped and built is the same situation. Chad made the offer so if u don't buy it then keep it to yourself. Chad is here to show people how to do this stuff while u all watch. Its been sitting for 40 yrs with the guy who loves it more then anyone and never did the work so hard to believe people making these comments will.chad doesn't have a ton of options of old cars like we do in the states,it is a 4 door car! Nothing more,he's going to make it worth way more and get it back on the road, isn't that what we all want? So enjoy watching it get there,it'll get more love and work do e to it in 30 days then it has in 30 yrs. I know I can't wait to see that ugly top come down to look better and car vack on the road.
Dennis Collins recently had a video where he was at a house that had an old 4 door that was converted to a 2 door by moving the firewall and windshield back and making a long hood. It was really cool looking. Just a suggestion. Not sure you even read these comments. Love your work and enjoyed your trip. Keep up the good work.
The front doors will not open with sidemount spare tires. It would look much cleaner without them anyway. Enjoyed your travels, but glad your back in the garage.
You are very clear as always BC , it’s a passion of yours , It’s a kindness of mind you allow by offering it to a viewer to pull it at $10k . The evidence of restore cost is why a lot of cars sit in garages for 10 plus years , I find my process by flipping some mid eighties Mercedes Parker’s is to stay away from rusty cars or ones were interiors are shot for flippers or keepers . You and Jolene are way ahead of the process , keeping the restore game in a much easier state of mind , fix it and send it.
Hey Chad thanks for the shout out , it means a lot to me, sure was cool spending time with you in Aus.......Take care mate.......You're the best... Dave.
Given the costs involved, this would be a great car for a diy car enthusiast, to minimise the costs involved. I’m sure if you lived back in the cowboy days, you would also be known as Bad Chad with the itchy trigger 17:08 finger! 😝
Car is in greatest condition you can find a 83 year old car. Its not a piece of scrap than your other projects started with. So in my mind it´s a shame to destroy it for clickbait only...! Look for a mechanic and upholstery in your neighbourhood and you can fix it for a reasonable amount...! Kind regards from Germany.
I have come to the conclusion that Chad is a metalworking artist and not really interested in building anything that will actually ever see the road. Take it to the 50% point and push it in the barn to rust. But I guess that is what you get when you are trying to produce an hour of content every day. Your car though, do what you want.😊
I think the 2 pieces of tape would be enough and work out better if you watch it back you only have 2 in the back and I think if you do different amounts it will cause problems you don't need. I will be surprised to see anyone step up and buy it but it is pretty complete. Good luck with it either way maybe wait for an extra day before you chop it 😉 😜. Jolene great camera work. If I had my choice would rather see you ramp up the work the Bugatti.
4:20am here in Australia! I have been thinking about the Hudson... rather than chop the top, go the other way. I have a very dear friend who is crippled by arthritis, spending her days in a chair. Her husband is doing a vehicle with a lift in the back, anchor points inside for her chair, etc. The Hudson would be a perfect candidate with the lack of wheel arches and flat floor to create a mobility vehicle for people in a wheelchair . So the opposite of a chop! Lift the back from the Front door pillar (A pillar?) to provide height, with windows for the person in the chair to see out. Access from the rear via a ramp. Swing the back up from the high point on the roof (window included.) Problem: structural integrity of the rear parcel tray will need to be altered (but you can do that I think.) My point: people in chairs deserve a cool ride too.
Further thoughts: ... donate the car to a charity (MS Society, or the like) for their fundraising activities from the supporters and subscribers to your channel... call for donations as you build it, a small amount from each to cover your costs with the leftover donations as a cash amount to the charity. You could write on the side: Donated by supporters of Bad Chad (etc.)... The charity could take it to car shows etc. to raise awareness for their cause. You could make a big deal of the build. I am sure you would get a lot of people willing to help out with a small amount (or a big amount!) $10 each, to ... the sky is the limit ($100, $1000...???) people do give to a good cause ( at least here in Australia.) It might be a risk, but one worth taking I think.
I had a 1951 Ford F2 with the flathead v8 in it. My dad was in HVAC / Plumbing and when the exhaust went we used copper pipe on that ending with 3" copper out the back. Let's hope some one saves it. Good luck.
I think it’s your car and you can do whatever you want to with it. But if if was mine (which it isn’t) I would run some tape on the front windscreen to show what it would look like cut down. The front windscreen is much smaller than the side windows and could look way too small after the chop. Just my thoughts
I’m sure he will come up with something. He always does. Maybe the roof can be cut off and turned around? I don’t think anything is beyond his imagination. I think I would start by washing the car lol.
Love it, you talked about putting stuff in a bag and out of nowhere a box of sandwich bags goes thud on the car floor. Way to go Jolene. One step ahead all while filming. 👍😂👱♀️
When I did the frame-off rebuild of my 1954 Chevy pickup in the 1980s...as I took it apart, I bagged and labeled EVERYTHING. It made it (IMO) much easier to keep organized, as well as easier when I was putting everything back together.
I'm glad you said that about this car. Lots of people will tell builders don't do this or that. But none of them will put the money up to do what they want you to do. I've always said to your car do as you want with it. Give it a hair cut!!!
I think that car is in great shape for the year it is, it’s quite remarkable. And I think your decision to offer it up to anyone that wants to do a total restore is quite gracious of you, and I also understand you wanting to do it your way. I do like Jolene’s idea of not going quite extreme with the “haircut” personally I find the roofs on those old cars to be very high anyway and think they look great chopped. Great find.
Does every restoration require a chop? I love your work but it seems like everyone does chops to the older vehicles. I would love to see something like creating a collapsible top, I am sure that would be a real challenge .. Love you guys and I applaud Jolene for all the work that she does with the camera and everything else.
@@johnwhltson5319 Ok then, the idea is still understood. So, there are not many doing restorations because there are a very few vehicles with all factory parts for the classic vehicles. Engines and other additions which were not around during the time of the original builds.
You explained that really well man. To me it’s not restorable unless you have a deep pocket and helluva time. It would have to be a nut and bolt restoration, and it’s easy for someone to say do this because it’s not coming out their pocket, let’s face it half the people on here could not afford to restore that.
Hello Chad & Jolene. Jay Leno did a feature film on you tube on the exact same Hudson. It belonged to Johnny Carsons dad and it was their family car growing up. ...You will learn more about this car. They rebuilt it and it looks beatiful.
Thought you were keeping it original. Ashame to cut that beautiful car. I agree with Jolene keep her original Chad!!! I can’t believe you are thinking of selling her!!! That’s a rare gem!!! Love what you do though!!!
I listened as you talked yourself out of restoration. With the millions of followers you have I’m sure there must be someone willing to sponsor a restoration. Yes, restorations are expensive but sometimes having a respect and regard for the craftsmanship and beauty of past artisans is worth the costs. I hope someone makes you an offer because, although you keep asking followers what to do, it’s apparent you’ve made your decision. That’s okay, after all it is your car, but I wish I had the money and I hope someone offers to buy it because that car deserves to be restored.
Chad everyone has their own ideas what they would do with the car and if everyone liked the same thing there would be no hot rods no lowered vehicles are rat rods with big motors in them. I do what I like to my cars and trucks and some people likes what I do and some don't but I do what I like and I realize that everyone has their own ideas about what they do and I respect that but I think they should respect what you want and I'm all for what you do for you are a man after my own heart. Thank you Jolene for the great job you do with the camera and Chad do your thing. God bless you and and Jolene and have a blessed night
Good morning Chad and Jolene your right to bring it back like new world be very costly but perhaps another way to go is do the mechanics and have it look like a rat rod because the rats have been living in there anyway 😂but that’s when you could make a little extra money ,when people see it running and stopping, anyway love your show. only another suggestion,my 2 cents worth and here in Australia 2 cents doesn’t exist 😊
I'm curios to see if you chop it, what do you plan to do with the back glass? The way you chopped the 2 door in Toronto was perfect, leaving the glass intact. The 2 door sedan delivery would be awesome. One of a kind for sure!
Love your vision to the sides and the back. The back window does look like it will fit your vision perfectly! Just a thought, I did see a 1935 Hudson online that had a one piece Windshield that was flat. Probably more work than you were planning but it looked nice. Remember, just a thought.
Chad - Don't do a top chop on that Hudson. The windshield will end up too small. You have two ways you can chop it. 1. Do a body chop. A body chop will still let you keep the vehicles look. or 2. Leave you windshield and lower the back of the top down to the height of the windshield.
I rescued a car from Chad once, I bought the mercury wagon and started a TH-cam channel myself “My Classic Fords” As much as I like the old Hudson I can’t afford another one.
I am trying my best not to tell you what to do, but just to inform you that you do not have just an Antique Car but a Car that is also Steeped in Rock N Roll History. And not to take anything from Chad's Builds this car is MORE IMPORTANT in so many ways than any of Chad"s Builds. Please Preserve it"s Aunthenticity. NOOOOOOOOOO CHOPPPPP. It Is Complete as it is.!!!!!
Personally before I’d start cutting I’d take dead on side photos of it with what I call a chop ruler taped to the side. A chop ruler has alternating black & white one inch squares and can be used as a ruler later to determine your most pleasing roof height. Then I’d cut up that side photo and move the roof up and down till I was happy with the look. Sometimes it helps to leave the altered photo where you keep seeing it during the day to really decide you like it. Once your real happy with the look cut the chop ruler out of a photo to measure the amount of drop. It’s obviously helpful to have at least 4 of the same photos to cut up. I like your sedan delivery idea much better than a chopped 4 door. ~ John B
Good idea. I believe there are several tools available to help facilitate lowering the top. A builders level is very handy along with various computer programs. I lowered the roof on a 33 Ford pick up and the first time I drove it I knew I screwed up. I guess if you don’t drive the cars, it doesn’t matter though.
exactly, my first idea was to take a photo of it and run to the printer so you can cut a photo just to have an idea, i even cut a diecast first for my project.
The older fellow who sold the car discussed his interest in preserving the car in a restored state and placed somewhere like a museum. From that video, Jolene agreed it should be preserved, as is, as well, I'm guessing, to honour the original owners desire. That said, Brad has a vision, not only to preserve a car like this but also give it a new lease on life. I completely understand his choice to make the car something that lives and breathes (and drives). It's nice to think all cars of this era cold be fully restored and placed in a museum but it makes more sense, in my view, to build a car that has a life on the road. We weren't privy to the decision making after the sale, nor should we be but I'm thinking it was a case of get the car fixed and moving, with the vision to modify , which is the decision of the present owner, despite (and I'm sure respectfully) going against the wishes of the previous owner to have it stored in a museum.
The 2 clips in the trunk is to hold the engine crank. I have a 1936 2 door sedan these are well made cars. I personally am going to restomod mine but not chop the top. Most of these cars had a color for the body and a different color for the fenders.
This looks pretty much like a kidnap hostage clip where they ask for the money to release the victim. You are even informed about what what parts of the victim get cut off :D Quite a thriller movie, hopefully no second episode.
As I watch this I can't help thinking that I would shoot a few side shots and do a virtual chop in PhotoShop. If you put tape on the the width you want to chop (before the photos) , then just move the top down in Photoshop that much, you can get an idea what it will look like, rinse and repeat until you find the right look. Good luck and take care.
Glad to see your back home safe and sound. Loved the vacation videos, a lot of cool cars in Australia. Was Fina super happy to see you and Jolene back home? Did you get new inspirational from what you saw down under?

Dual sidemount spares would look sweet on that. Have you thought about, or do you start by just taking a 11/2 to 2 inch chop out 1st, then stand back to see what it looks like. And then work your way up to say 3 or 4 inches ? or do you just usually take it all out in one fell swoop.
I feel like I just took a class on chopping a tip. My only question is the back angle? I wonder if the angle of the truck would need to lean forward after 3” lowered top? I mean I honestly don’t know. Oh and the way you work around the back window is genius. Thanks Chad
Love it guys and you do what ever you want with it, the car is yours no doubt and not my decision. My only suggestions is you put in some very dark glass that will give it a really nice gangster edge. Thank you, take care and peace out.
I like the idea of the body stretch to the length of the rear fenders, then hearse or sedan delivery. you can do anything and your style does not seem to be restored cars, but once again it's yours to do how ever you want. Anxious to see where this goes.
Good choice, I like your idea of chopping a little bit. Not worth to restore it, more money than the final product. Thanks Chad and Jolene for another great video!
What do you mean it not worth restoring every thing Chad said sill needs replaced the glass everything for the brakes the interior every thing to get the engine running if it not Seized up All the exhaust new tires and fixing all the dents and the rust holes in the back then pant. One of my favorites in the early 1950s was a 1951 shoe box Ford 2 door coupe with a four inch section. I think a lot of your viewers would gain some traffic knowledge from such a procedure.

In the movie industry in Vancouver most of our shows are LA studio productions. At show rap lots of props, set dressing and even set pieces get sent down for possible reshoots or display. The most fragile and valuable get special crates made screwed together with Robertson screws, screws are circled with a Sharpie and thoughtfully a note is usually left on the crate…

I would love to see you back working on Jolenes Bugatti. She certainly deserves it finished at this stage!
100%, or the Fuel Truck, or the Pick Up, Jolene's only been waiting 4 years for the Bugatti to be finished, so much for the 30 day BS. But to give Chad a pass, he is no mechanical or mathematical genius, without Jolene we wouldnt have these videos, unless Chad found someone else to do it.

Someone buy this! Don't destroy a literally one-of-a-kind! Pleeeeeze!
It is so respectful of you guys to offer up the Hudson to anyone who feels strongly enough to restore it. I am glad you seem to be back to your normal self today Chad. I certainly hope you are over your jet lag. Have a wonderful day Chad and Jolene. 😊
Please someone come up with the 10 grand, before this beauty is chopped😢
Bad Chad, a name is everything, especially when you are concerned. Much respect. I think this car would look great chopped and left a four door. You the man. I lost my best friend a couple of years ago, my cousin Nick, you remind me of him, it is uncanny. He was a great artist as well (oil painter).
Anyway, keep working dude, the world needs these cars.

Sell it to Jim, he can restore it after he finishes the Olds.
$10,000 … he will sell it to anyone,, Jim just needs to bring a sack of cash 💰 Ching Ching
The more i think about it - the maximum I would chop would be 1.5". Keeps the original look with a slight change that would be exquisite and clean. Lowering is not an issue and i agree that it would look good. It's your call Chad. Jolene is amazing with her camera work as always. FINA is so sweet.

Very well said. My thoughts exactly....
It’s just a four door
Why chop a four door, seems goofy
Fina’s back in her groove in the Shop ! Ya know she’s a happy dog again !
Dave.
Have you seen Mike Hunt ?
Cheez mate
Given the costs involved, this would be a great car for a diy car enthusiast, to minimise the costs involved. I’m sure if you lived back in the cowboy days, you would also be known as Bad Chad with the itchy trigger 17:08 finger! 😝
Please don:t destroy that one.
10k doesn't seem bad for a classic in this condition. Unbelievable how little rust there is! 😮 glad he is at least offering it for sale.
I have come to the conclusion that Chad is a metalworking artist and not really interested in building anything that will actually ever see the road. Take it to the 50% point and push it in the barn to rust. But I guess that is what you get when you are trying to produce an hour of content every day. Your car though, do what you want.😊
If I was closer I'd gladly give you 10 to save this survivor
Swing the back up from the high point on the roof (window included.)
Problem: structural integrity of the rear parcel tray will need to be altered (but you can do that I think.)
My point: people in chairs deserve a cool ride too.
Further thoughts:
... donate the car to a charity (MS Society, or the like) for their fundraising activities from the supporters and subscribers to your channel... call for donations as you build it, a small amount from each to cover your costs with the leftover donations as a cash amount to the charity. You could write on the side: Donated by supporters of Bad Chad (etc.)...
The charity could take it to car shows etc. to raise awareness for their cause.
You could make a big deal of the build. I am sure you would get a lot of people willing to help out with a small amount (or a big amount!)
$10 each, to ... the sky is the limit ($100, $1000...???) people do give to a good cause ( at least here in Australia.)
It might be a risk, but one worth taking I think.
That was a lot of work just getting it into the shop. Time to take a good look. You do what you want with it and have fun
Yep it's his, if someone wants to spend the money & time it would cost for a restoration, they should buy one
I'm glad you said that about this car. Lots of people will tell builders don't do this or that. But none of them will put the money up to do what they want you to do. I've always said to your car do as you want with it. Give it a hair cut!!!
I love the Hudson brand, owned a couple and still have parts. They were never that special, so I'm keen to see it get cut. Restoring is boring.
Chop , chop , people are so easy to run their mouth when they are broke $
I think that car is in great shape for the year it is, it’s quite remarkable. And I think your decision to offer it up to anyone that wants to do a total restore is quite gracious of you, and I also understand you wanting to do it your way. I do like Jolene’s idea of not going quite extreme with the “haircut” personally I find the roofs on those old cars to be very high anyway and think they look great chopped. Great find.
Wow! 87 Years Old! And In That Great Of Shape! Awesome!
Does every restoration require a chop? I love your work but it seems like everyone does chops to the older vehicles. I would love to see something like creating a collapsible top, I am sure that would be a real challenge .. Love you guys and I applaud Jolene for all the work that she does with the camera and everything else.
Restorations are factory originals. Any chop or change would make it a restomod.

Chad back in action, Jolene doing an amazing job on video as usual, Chad going from rust to restoration to MAGIC, Happy St. Patrick's day guys.
Feel like I'm watching an execution, so, so sad. Wish I had 10K now.
I'm liking the sedan/delivery idea either way you do it. I love your content always. If I disagree I can build my own.😂
the front vindshield if you shop 3.4 inc it will be like an mail box lol
Chad - Don't do a top chop on that Hudson. The windshield will end up too small. You have two ways you can chop it. 1. Do a body chop. A body chop will still let you keep the vehicles look. or 2. Leave you windshield and lower the back of the top down to the height of the windshield.
Glad you 2 made a safe trip home from Australia and loved every bit of it you 2 are awesome and amazing people.
Chad, if you want to feel good about chopping it, call the previous owner and ask him how he feels about it?
I rescued a car from Chad once, I bought the mercury wagon and started a TH-cam channel myself “My Classic Fords”
As much as I like the old Hudson I can’t afford another one.
That seems like a great idea
Cut the roof Off? ? Why would anyone chop the top on a 4 door Hudson Teraplane ?
Jack do you know what the round hole located under the backseat, fitted with canvas, was for?

I hope someone picks it up, too nice not to restore, kudos Chad for offering it up, well done
I like the idea of the body stretch to the length of the rear fenders, then hearse or sedan delivery. you can do anything and your style does not seem to be restored cars, but once again it's yours to do how ever you want. Anxious to see where this goes.
I would like to see something finished
Good choice, I like your idea of chopping a little bit. Not worth to restore it, more money than the final product. Thanks Chad and Jolene for another great video!

What do you mean it not worth restoring every thing Chad said sill needs replaced the glass everything for the brakes the interior every thing to get the engine running if it not Seized up All the exhaust new tires and fixing all the dents and the rust holes in the back then pant. Chad, I feel with complete you can chop a roof. How about doing a sectioned video? Not just cutting off of the bottom but a real section by removing horizontal section from the center of the body. One of my favorites in the early 1950s was a 1951 shoe box Ford 2 door coupe with a four inch section. I think a lot of your viewers would gain some traffic knowledge from such a procedure.

I just bought a 1985 Fiero GT it has been sitting in a Heated Storage sense 1986 with a Blown 2.5L Engine. I did an Engine and tranny swap ,
Is now powered by a 3.4 liter V6 Engine from a 2006 Pontiac Torrent SUV FWD and has a 5-Speed Automatic Transmission . with 185 horsepower and 210 ft.-lbs of torque.
These videos do more to preserve the history of the car, by showing it to thousands than stuffing it in a museum.
I would make sure I checked all serial numbers first and make a couple calls . some of those are worth alot more than 10 grand unrestored.
Chopping the back is going to more difficult than you think…
When i chopped my 39 dodge I had to section it the same amount to get it back together.
Even Gene Winfield said that it was an awesome job as it was a difficult car to chop when he seen it!
It will be another rust bucket half done !
Do you even realize the money he will make from all the viewers watching him cut that old pig in half !! Get perspective kids geez 🙄
I think a buyer will know what it needs
All the issues you are finding, how did you decide $10,000 is a firm deal.
I like custom. But I wouldn’t cut that car at all. Don’t do it just for video material. It’s a cool car. But not worth a lot. And it is in pretty good condition. You’re not going full custom rebuild anyway. My suggestion (For what it’s worth) is clean it up a little. Fix the dents, get it running, and maybe lower it a couple inches. But you’re going to do what you want to do. So how about a one inch chop?
Do what YOU want Chad, restore this car will be expensive (and will rob us viewers from watching this car being chopped! )😄.
So you'll chop it but not make it roadworthy again if it is too expensive to make it running and breaking. Jeezz please be realistic
As skilled as you are, I wish I could save it from being chopped. Not everything needs to be chopped.
Iron Resurrection did a 1936 Hudson Terraplane Truck, There are videos on TH-cam. the Grille on these cars is certainly something compared to other cars of the day.
And it came out stunning. Sad the owner had passed by the time they got it finished, but the family get to enjoy it.
Just an idea, if you roll the front and rear windows up to the chop height, it may help visualize what it will look like after the chop!
A slight chop would look nice on this, you would have to give it a second look to determine if it even was chopped. Still a nice project.
Kenny's car was awesome when you chop the Hudson car it will be beautiful and I can't wait to see the results.
