It’s funny that chat says “the algorithm is just broken” but that Twitter ad got Clint talking about it, didn’t it? It got this whole video made. I’d say that’s the algorithm working exactly as intended.
It also is supposed to used as a sort of data analysis tool. If State Farm is the one sponsoring this survey, they are looking to see what auto insurance brand, if any, comes to mind when thinking of gaming and professional gaming. State Farm for example is massively sponsored in the League of Legends scene, I imagine they are with other Riot products too. So the results of these surveys are just so see if their brand awareness is subconsciously spreading just by being in the gaming space a lot.
Not really? That ad was a survey meant to gather data. Sure it ended up being advertisement on this stream and video, but it ended up being an ad for all 4 companies, so whichever company bought that survey just paid to have 3 of their competitors advertised as well

As far as I know, at least three of those insurers sponsor some kind of gaming event/team/etc. They're probably trying to find out if there's any brand association yet or if it's a pointless sponsorship.

Companies trying to get involved advertising with video games just shows how desperate they are to market.. When i was really into games it was because i couldn't afford anything else and it was a cheap affordable thing to do at home by myself. It's literally the worst group of people you can advertise towards, they will need to use their parents money to pay for your service..
