The Jerry Meals call is still hilarious every time I see it. Either he didn’t think the runner was tagged or was just like “Fuck it. I’m tired. I want to go home.”
Kuruma Uzamaki you gotta be some kind of stupid to think he missed the tag hahah especially from the perspective of the umpire right next to him the replays all show him tagging
Brendan watch the TH-cam video called “why the worst call in baseball history might have been right” or something like that, he actually completely missed the tag, good eye by the ref
@@imperson1785 even with the shit in that video the guy says it could go either way. I still think still shots show the tag was made and from Meals angle there is no way he would have had the ability to see otherwise. This was nothing more than him wanting the game to be over

I remember that 19 inning game at 1:38. I started listening to the game when I got off work, came home and showered, went out and got lunch, then came home and hooked up my boat, and listened to the game the entire time I was fishing.
1:38 was the longest game I ever watched. Bauer actually is a starter but we ran out of bullpen arms. Fun fact: that game set a franchise long 14 game win streak. The win streak was broken the following year with an MLB record consecutive win record with no ties of 22 games. I started listening to the game 30 minutes before I went to dinner. Followed it throughout dinner. Drove home from dinner and sat and listened for two more hours after I got home.
0:26 This play still resonates with me to this day. I remember staying up with my family to watch that game in our hotel room while away for vacation. I can't even begin to describe how much frustration it caused.
After the first two clips I was thinking "No way...is Vargha gonna make an entire clip of groundouts and flyouts with no walkoffs just to troll us on April Fool's?" Glad I was wrong.
Tim Murphy a monkey couldve managed the yankees to nine straight wins with the way they’ve been hitting the ball. Not challenging the stanton tagging up play on friday was almost as bad as the girardi no challenge play in cleveland. Luckily the yanks won and its only april so everyone will forget about it.
mrjimi1 I still remember they put in roger Clemens to pitch in the final innings. When asked how long he planned on being on the mound he said he was prepared to pitch 9 innings if he needed to.
The REAL mike thegamerguy24 Extra Innings are usually kinda dull other than a walk off, like it’s mostly scoreless innings and not much offensive action.
I was at that yankees cubs game last Spring that went until 1:00 in the morning. It was the craziest thing ever. I stayed for the whole thing. I got home at 5 o'clock in the morning and I went to work 2 hours later. I don't regret it for a minute. The weather was absolutely frigid that night for May game. Think it was in the lower 40s. At Wrigley, it was a true surreal experience. Pretty much everybody left their original seats and went up to the front. And we all started cheering some of the most inappropriate jeers you can think of and the Ushers just let it all go. A great time despite the loss
I was at the Angels game in the thumbnail! My brother and I went together and I was supposed to find both of us dates but I couldn’t and so he was mad. He ended up happy though because if we brought dates we would have to have left early😂😂😂
As a Phillies fan, I remember 3:55 when it happened. The Phillies had no more relievers left in the bullpen to pitch the top of the 19th, so they had Wilson Valdez pitch the inning and he ended up getting the victory that night.
I was at the Red Sox-Angels game with Pujols' walkoff. First game at Angel Stadium for me, and they went to New York to review if it was a homer or fan interference.
If this video was updated, that Astros at Mariners ALDS game in Seattle in 2022 would be in this package. After 17 scoreless innings (yep...), Houston won that one 1-0 in 18 innings. Regular season games nowadays have a runner on 2nd base in regular season Extra Inning games. Though, some still do play some pretty long games.
2:00- I was there and it was, to say the least, a very exciting and thrilling game😂 everyone screamed for a good few minutes after Pujols hit that homer
Watched a video over the call at 0:30 and it’s actually a lot closer than you think... called “the worst call in baseball might’ve been right” or something like that
"I'm going to stay and watch this 18-inning regular season game that means very little in the long run, and be a zombie at work tomorrow." - nobody ever
0:28 Call was shockingly correct upon further inspection. This was ages ago too, so there's no point in still whining about it. 1:47 Probably the quietest walkoff win ever. Even the announcer was lagging. 3:38 Definitely an awesome way to end a long game. I think this was the game where scrub Edward Mujica tied up the game in the 9th. In fact, a lot of 18+ inning games seem to get tied up in the 9th. 4:01 A for effort at least. 4:12 4/17/08, Rockies beat the Padres 2-to-1 in 22 Innings. Tulowitzki drove-in the go-ahead run. I'm sure this game is the ultimate butt of any anti-baseball joke.
@@Basetornado And a better camera angle showed both "tags" missing. I'm pretty sure the consensus was: grazing the very edge of the runners' clothing with the tip of the glove doesn't suffice, as it lacks strong enough visual evidence there was contact.
The Jerry Meals call is still hilarious every time I see it. Either he didn’t think the runner was tagged or was just like “Fuck it. I’m tired. I want to go home.”
John Migliaccio to me it looked like he missed after watching it multiple times in extreme slo mo
i think he missed the tag
Kuruma Uzamaki you gotta be some kind of stupid to think he missed the tag hahah especially from the perspective of the umpire right next to him the replays all show him tagging
Cole Parker no the catcher wiffed on him and never tagged him watch I on extreme slo no he was never tagged and that why the ump was saying he wiffed
Kuruma Uzamaki you do realize this was reviewed thousands of times and was a confirmed tag right?
I can’t be the only one that’s still mad about the Pirates call
You aren’t
Brendan watch the TH-cam video called “why the worst call in baseball history might have been right” or something like that, he actually completely missed the tag, good eye by the ref
Kade Hicklin *ump* but yes you are correct it was a good respectable call, Connor Martin look up that video

would have
What's up with the Blue Jays and long ass games on Canada Day?
0:26 honestly if I was umping that game I would’ve done the same thing
Everyone just wanted to go home
You can see it in his face he has no argument and nothing to say. He just wanted to go home lol
The catcher missed the tag
Dylan Foster no he didnt. If you look at the runner he got up cuz he was out, then stepped on the plate again after he got called safe
0:30 The ump obviously just wanted to go home.
4:08 are we not going to talk about the same guy got rejected with both hands on the left side of the screen?

0:26 This play still resonates with me to this day. I remember staying up with my family to watch that game in our hotel room while away for vacation. I can't even begin to describe how much frustration it caused.
It’s probably the best case besides the blown no hitter for automated umpires. That guy clearly ended the game because he wanted to go home.
The outfielder at 1:17 runs like he's thinking "YES, I finally get to get out of here!" Like he doesn't give a shit that his team just lost, lol.
I still believe that the ump for the Braves-Pirates game thought to himself: "screw it, I wanna go home".
After the first two clips I was thinking "No way...is Vargha gonna make an entire clip of groundouts and flyouts with no walkoffs just to troll us on April Fool's?" Glad I was wrong.
I considered making a Matt Vasgersian calling routine plays for 4/1
That 3rd ump channeled his inner Angel Hernandez and Joe West
There was a 25 inning White Sox game in the 80s
1:32 sounds like he’s saying “we cannot go home.”
0:26 the runner was genuinely safe: change my mind
I remember staying up for that 2014 NLDS game against the Nats. So much greatness that year.
I'll never forget that Giants @ Nats postseason game. I was living in England at the time. It was a 12am start and a 6am finish. What a night
Im just confused of why they are allllll in the 19th inning

Is the Rogers Centre cursed to have super-long games or something?
Alstor nah. It's the red jerseys. It has happened at least twice in recent years with those jerseys
It’s either the blue jays pitching is really good or the hitting is really bad
Joseph Schroeder nah the jays pitching was so bad that the hitters bailed em out but couldn’t get the job done sooner

you forgot A-Rod' s walk off homer against the red Sox

Do “1-0 games where the only run comes from a home run”
Elliot Beach I was at a game when that happened my braves beat the padres in July
Game 3 of the 2017 ALDS.
That's exactly what happened tonight with the Braves. Acuña homers, 1-0 Atlanta the final in seven innings.
