Happy #Easter, Everyone! 🐰✝️🐣🙏🏽💛
Last weekend, I was in #fatima because Jax had a huge international dance competition in #Ourem, which is about 20 minutes away from Fatima. The parents stayed in a separate hotel in Fatima and it was so easy for me to walk to the sanctuary and even go to #palmsunday mass.
For those who do not know, Fatima is a Portuguese town that's home to the Sanctuary of Fátima, a #catholic #pilgrimage site. Around 6 million pilgrims visit Fatima annually, making it one of the most visited shrines to the #virginmary (alongside Lourdes in France and Guadalupe in Mexico). The Capelinha das Aparições marks the spot where the Virgin Mary allegedly appeared in 1917. 😇
In 1930, the Vatican recognized the Virgin of Fátima as legit. Today, millions of believers come every year to rejoice in this modern miracle.
As a Catholic, I feel very lucky and privileged to live in Portugal and somewhat close to Fatima where I can visit easily via a 3 ½ hour car ride from the #Algarve. We’ve been here many times and I love the peace and tranquility of Fatima. Whether you are a believer or not, it is such a beautiful, meditative, and calming setting. 😌🪷☀️

Thank you for sharing. I am currently in Portugal on a work exchange. I wanted to visit Fatima and do a tour there earlier this month, but I didn't plan well and missed the opportunity. :(
