@rockinpiano1 I think the Cat loaders have a cab that leans a little farther forward than the Madills. To get a madill cab tilting forward takes the hydraulic cylinder to push it over center.
@skadill I found it! It's up on the Columbia about halfway between Longview, Washington and Astoria, Oregon. One thing about it, the guy wouldn't have had far to go to get to the Madill Factory at Kalama. I guess it's still on the river side of I-5, I haven't been up there in 15 years. Anyway, thanks for the two comebacks, you guys. This is interesting to us who have worked in the timber/road building industry, Now if we can just get Todd to speak ENGLISH, eh? Napa, no Knapa, no Knappa! (;>)
@Graveltrucking There's a guy here in town that had the cab flop forward on him and he damn near lost his legs. He came out of it ok, but it was close. I believe it was a Cat loader. I saw that trail heading off into the woods and I thought to myself, "Todd, don't you dare, you'll have every Piss-fir Willy in the country on your trail!" Napa, Oregon on Yahoo maps shows South of Post in the Maury Mountains. I hauled logs out of there in the late 80's. I never heard it called Napa though.
Just can't beat the feel of a big loaded.
