New federal budget good for ‘working people’

  • Australian Council of Trade Unions President Michele O’Neill says the new federal budget will be good for “working people”.
    “We say that because you can sum it up by saying two words, which is ‘higher wages’,” she told Sky News Australia.
    “What we’re seeing in this budget is that wages are going to continue to go up. We’ve got to remember that’s after a decade … of stagnant wages under the Coalition government.”

    Australia's workplace laws are now risk-based instead of prescriptive and unions contribute to productivity gains by performing job safety analyses. There will be fewer workers accessing the NDIS thanks to the unions.
