    Thank you for creating content that help us newbies or even experienced people with useful information. My favorite beginner coral…that’s a hard decision. I’d say it is the toadstool with clove polyps as a close second.

    Been researching reef keeping since summer and gonna be giving it a go soon, nice simple setup like this here amazing. Fav coral has to be frogspawn and hammers, acans are nice to

    I'd love to win! Crazy low tech. Question: you talked about starting with the water from an aged tank. Was the sand also from an existing system?
    Also, using that much sand basically eliminates the need for live rock I would imagine and the mangrove helps control nutrients, right? Lovely system!

      I used just older water and some biological media to start it up. Mangroves are to small to do anything. Mainly just for the look!

      @@ReefUnderTheRoof I currently have a 5 gallon AIO (just tore it down). All I ran was a $50 Amazon light and the stock return pump. I had a sponge in the back to catch the big stuff but as considering setting it up as a work desk tank with mangroves in the filter section.
