I went here as a kid, and rode this train. They had wild west gunfights in the streets you could watch and hear and smell the gunfire! Its such a shame Tombstone Junction is gone. I would pay anything to take my kids there.
I remember this place from when I was very young. I recently went off-roading there, not much left but the parking lot and building foundations. I was surprised that the 2 hotels close to the site were closed down and pretty much vandalized and destroyed as well. Wish I had brought a camera with me.
(mad) Martigan Locke I went to the site a couple of weeks ago. Theres a video of the places condition as of this year on my channel. Only thing still standing is the old "Pa's Cabin" building and thats about to cave in on itself.
Thanks for posting this. I can just barely remember riding this in 90 or 91. I remember sitting in the cab and blowing the whistle and hiding the toy train my mom bought me under the seat during the train robbery.
Thanks for the info! My footage is from the early 70's and has Tanya Tucker in it when she first started. I will try to post it if I can. I believe it has the Train Robbery as well.
@vtxrider1800c Locomotive #77 is under restoration at the Big South Fork Scenic Railroad in Stearns, KY. The coaches were scrapped on site when the park fully closed in 1991.
No, I would have been 4 at the time. The VHS copy of this was given to me by the guy the ran as #77's engineer the last few years she ran at Tombstone.

Geezz no wonder old #77 was completely worn out by the time T.J. shut down in 1991.

I was gonna ask if it’s still around thank you
Weren't the coaches former B&O Cabooses?
Did you film this? If you did, you must be a very lucky man since it is a very rare video.

Fire burned down the park and the economy at the time didn't warrant rebuilding.
a series of two fires burned it down
The k&t will see steam once again :)
Don't hold your breath.
I think they had enough water.
right!?
Were the curves really that sharp?
yup.

Does anyone know what happened to it? I rode it as well back in the 70's.
