    Hiya Jess and all. Wow! Anyone of these wonderfully talented ladies could win any of the three cateries. But I agree with where they were awarded. Six hours only! So well done and I loved
    Marketers, sorry I never could spell, helping to look for the white gold. Flush settings abound, I love them. In fact, I loved all three of the wonderful entries. The mentor was great, perfect help at the right time. I think this show sums up a lot of modern jewellery learning with places like YT giving free accurate advice for free. Everyone helping everyone.
    Thank you Jess for this, and I like forward to part 3! I've already watched part 1 several times. I love getting more each time.
    Stay safe, Steve...

    As a minimalist, these pieces reach out to me in an unusual way. The idea that the rings can serve both an edgy couple and minimalist couples as well is simply amazing. All 3 jewelers are unique and talented.
    Loving the retreat!

    I bet 6 hours seems a long time at the start. I think these sessions are good to show what it takes in time, effort and thought to produce a piece of jewellery.

    • @JewellersAcademy
      @JewellersAcademy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, so much work goes into a handmade piece of jewellery - it's great for people to see the craft isn't it. The jewellers all did so well too! x

    Ok, so when a jeweler doubles their materials cost and doubles labor, then, adds the hallmarking, etc, is that then wholesale? After which, retailers will double (or more) that amount; is that what you are saying? Thank you for clarifying. Really enjoying this series, thanks for doing this 'All that Glitters - like' series - but (sort of) more down to earth and realistic, it's a great idea, and has loads of room to excell. Next, I suggest perhaps participating in a less UK-centric, more worldly venue, that would be a great series too. Bravo!
    Also, the whole very short time constraints are just so much drama. A real jeweler [of the caliber shown] does not have those limits artificially placed on them, and it only inhibits good workmanship and expanding creativity - which is what a workshop is. A more realistic time frame (like the whole day) would reveal the fabrication techniques, and most importantly, the challenges that arise and the subsequent problem solving, and ultimately the true design beauty. There would still be ways to improve (learning) without the unnecessy (and vulgar click bait culture) handicapping of the artists. Imagine what these very talented jewelers could do without artificial and meaningless limitations foisted on them for the National Inquirer mentality! Parroting All That Glitters, leaves LOTS of room to improve on that drama. A higher class approach would be well received in our industry, I have no doubt. Raise the bar Jessica, you already have our attention!
