Si I got the same sensor from amazon and had a mechanic change it for me , however the code kept coming back and I ended up taking it to the Mazda dealer and all it needed was an update to the pcm. Now it’s all good!
Hi, I'm from the French part of Belgium so please be tolerant with my English. My car is a Mazda BL 1.6 petrol 2013 manual transmission. I have a very bad MPG. I changed air filter, spark plugs, fuel filter, MAF, throttle body, resetting throttle and still bad 28 mpg while riding very cool. It's a second hand car 60000 miles and what is strange is that friend of mine scanner diagnosed that my engine light is "deactivated" and no way to reactivate it. So Mirza, be careful they simply deactivated your's instead of "updating" anything.
Is there one of the O2 sensors that fails more often than the other (up or downstream)? I have a 2010 and getting that engine code error. Was debating changing 1 sensor first to see if the problem goes away
416 DIY yea I do, p2096 catalyst fuel trim system too lean in bank 1. 4 cylinder so only 1 bank. But, also have a p0137 idk if that has anything to do with it, it’s a circuit low voltage code.
Juan & Josh I used to get P2096 about once a year, if I reset it with a scanner it would come back in a couple days. What I would do is disconnect the battery cables and touch them together, then it would go away for a year or so.
Juan & Josh there are a few thing P0137 could be, but more often than not it’s the O2 sensors. I know you’re not supposed to “throw parts at the problem” but sometimes the part costs less than a diagnosis by a mechanic.
416 DIY I can try that for sure, I’ll let you know if it happens to work. However, I’ve had a fuel trim lean problem the past month, before it was just p2187. For the other code, I replaced the down stream o2, but not upstream I’ll change that out as well. Also, random question, I just changed the booster it’s non adjustable, and my brakes engage gradually until the car doesn’t move anymore. Not sure if I didn’t bleed it all the way. Pedal rock hard when car off... sinks to floor with car on... thank you for your time!! Much appreciated
Hi @416 DIY, I have this vehicle and need to replace my O2 sensor as well. Could you share the link to the part that you purchased? And are you satisfied with the quality of it? Thanks!
my ODB code sensor gave the following message: 'P0138 Confirmed O2 Sensor Circuit High Voltage Bank 1 Sensor 2' . Does this mean that the O2 sensor is the second one, not the one demonstrated in the video? ( it also shows this code : 'P2299-00 CONFIRMED Brake Pedal position/Accelerator Pedal Position Incompatible : No Sub Type Information' But that just doesn't make sense to me)
2maWs not certain but I don’t think so. Limp mode is to prevent massive damage from prolonged driving, having a bad o2 sensor is more inefficient than damaging.
You even explained how to clear the memory code, thank you man!
Someone needs to stabilize the cameraman.
Great, saved me heaps of bucks from a workshop!
Thank you for the video, God bless.

Mirza Gonzalez how much they charge you for the update?
Alfredo Moon $140

Roy oh... I’ll have someone check on that! The car is riding smoothly

The codes will be different depending on the sensor that needs replacing.
@@416diy Thanks. I went to a parts store and they used a handheld tester to find its the bank 2-downstream sensor.
I have the same car, it this part is bad can it cause a lean condition?
It could, do you have an engine light on?

Why’s the videos frame rate so low? Video was a lot of help but the experience was jarring.
Was still learning, that mistake is no longer being made.
I replaced both and it still comes on
Would installing the downstream O2 sensor be the same?
Jake Mckishnie virtually they same procedure, just in a different spot.
Hi @416 DIY,
I have this vehicle and need to replace my O2 sensor as well.
Could you share the link to the part that you purchased? And are you satisfied with the quality of it?

Danny J NTK 24355, got it on Amazon. Amazon may say it’s not compatible with your Mazda3, you can ignore them on that.
Puttin the cables together does it only take away check engine light or any other light on dashboard ?
Couldn't tell you for sure. If you do clear a trouble light and you still have a problem, that light is coming right back.
do you need to program the car after? or will my check engine light just go away
No programming needed here. The light may go away in its own, but I always clear it with the scanner because I don’t want to see it.

Yeah I have the same problem now. It’s the other 02 sensor.
@@matthewshean1991hey did you fix it?
from where store do you get the tool i need one thank
2012 sensor is placed horizontal and has a male adapter. Wth.
So is the 2013 mazda. And mounted in the tight space in the back of the engine bay. Can't even get that bitch off lol
Could you just use a wrench instead of buying a whole kit?
You can certainly try, there's just not a lot of room to swing a wrench in there, and you're going to need some leverage.
@@416diy thank you I appreciate it
Is this common to break on this car? I already did the intake solenoids on mine
Jacob1986 oxygen sensors are a common failure point on all cars due to the excessive heat they’re exposed to.
The touching of the battery terminals is just killing me
Hello sir I got the code p 2096 post catalyst fuel trim system too lean bank 1 do you think is the same problem on this vedeo thanks a lots
Hi, i have this code aswell. Did you find a fix yet?

You more than likely have a failed transmission control module, (TCM).
Is it 22mm?
Yes 22mm or 7/8
Ugh, that frame rate is terrible...
