Mother is from Dominica 🇩🇲 and she remembers her mother being informed by British missionaries that the ‘streets are paved with gold’ and we would live in lovely house’s have great jobs. My mum also says when she landed (age 14) she cried because it was so horrible. Those Caribbean people we’re teachers, nurses etc. They where educated people who came here to literally clean toilets. To add insult to injury many people (wind rush generation) where sent back when they reached pensioner age or there British citizenship was withdrawn meaning they could not receive a pension. Numerous family dynamics, various socio-economic backgrounds and educated to differing standards. So you have people who left Jamaica when they were preteens being deported. It's crazy

Let me remind everyone that Code Switching goes both ways. I grew up in the hood but I enunciated well and I didn't use slang. I took speech classes where proper enunciation and grammar were required to pass. My teacher made sure we didn't use slang, colloquialisms, or spoke with a southern accent. As a result, I was constantly made fun of because of it. I remember my mother's friends making fun of me because they said I sounded like a business receptionist when I answered the phone for them. I had to learn how to code switch to a black-cent, inorder to blend in. We need to talk about how we treat Black people who don't talk "Black."

I can say once I was at the Popeyes at westend mall in Atlanta and as I was at the window paying for my food, a homeless man came and knocked on my window asking me to buy him a meal. Shit scared the heck out me! I reached for my gun as a reflex and it could have ended really bad. I say that to say the employees may have came up with this rule because it can get dangerous. Now I don’t understand calling the police that was extra but I do understand them implementing such rule. It’s a liability.

Honestly I can see Popeyes point of view it use to be this homeless guy that would come to my job almost every day I worked at wingstop he would come in twitching,scratching,screaming, chasing people to there cars for money. We would give him food sometimes he would take it and eat it other times he would just leave it. Leaving trashing in the store. At the end of the day nobody had to deal with cleaning up his mess every day, dealing wit customer complaints cause they feel uncomfortable wit him doing all of this. At some point enough is enough, just because you work at a fast food restaurant doesn’t mean you turn into the soup kitchen.

Al, there is people out there who have toxic relationships with their mothers. It’s extremely toxic to the point where you rather make sure a stranger is straight than their own mothers. So if that was the case with Blac Chyna, I see why she hasn’t helped Tokyo Toni. People seem to forget how Tokyo Toni has treated her daughter in the past. Her mom is the exact same way Jennette McCurdy says her was when she was on iCarly.

Let me remind everyone that Code Switching goes both ways. I grew up in the hood but I enunciated well and I didn't use slang. I took speech classes where proper enunciation and grammar were required to pass. My teacher made sure we didn't use slang, colloquialisms, or spoke with a southern accent. As a result, I was constantly made fun of because of it. I remember my mother's friends making fun of me because they said I sounded like a business receptionist when I answered the phone for them. I had to learn how to code switch to a black-cent, inorder to blend in. We need to talk about how we treat Black people who don't talk "Black."

I can say once I was at the Popeyes at westend mall in Atlanta and as I was at the window paying for my food, a homeless man came and knocked on my window asking me to buy him a meal. Shit scared the heck out me! I reached for my gun as a reflex and it could have ended really bad. I say that to say the employees may have came up with this rule because it can get dangerous. Now I don’t understand calling the police that was extra but I do understand them implementing such rule. It’s a liability.

Honestly I can see Popeyes point of view it use to be this homeless guy that would come to my job almost every day I worked at wingstop he would come in twitching,scratching,screaming, chasing people to there cars for money. We would give him food sometimes he would take it and eat it other times he would just leave it. Leaving trashing in the store. At the end of the day nobody had to deal with cleaning up his mess every day, dealing wit customer complaints cause they feel uncomfortable wit him doing all of this. At some point enough is enough, just because you work at a fast food restaurant doesn’t mean you turn into the soup kitchen.

That actually did happen to me. A female pastor, who was not even supposed to be a pastor, was preaching about hair. She had her's cut short and she made everyone in the congregation wear the same do, exactly. She was using the scriptures to try to match her own point of view manipulatively. I DID get UP and WALKED OUT. Never went back!
