Knockdown Shooter Tips Shooting: - always balanced base - laser focus eyes on rim - follow through - lots of backspin - focus on every shot - track shooting percentages and improve every week - turn your misses into makes Shooter’s Mindset: - always shot ready - confidence is the secret sauce, believe you will make every shot Yw
Last one doesn’t work me atleast, I always expect the worst when I shoot but at the same time being calm. When I think I am going to make the ball enter the rim every time, it just makes me miss.
This is spot on. As a shooter myself I always visualize or take a mental picture of the shot going in the rim before shooting it. Always being shot ready is key and shooting with a quick release also works because you're getting a clear look at the rim before the contest and you're shooting without thinking too much
Balance and shooting on the strong side of your body or where your body feels most comfortable with comfortable feet placement for your body as well as a comfortable snap on the wrist. I like to have my shooting hand directly on the middle of the ball for that back spin. Most people say square your elbows, but I believe in squaring your shoulders and being comfortable. If your body is straining with a specific shooting form then it's not the proper shooting form for that person.
I feel like following through on your shot is a personal preference, there are many times that players in this video follow through and don't follow through. Examples 8:10 & 8:44. Sometimes players follow through on their shot based on if they simply feel like it or not, the key is fluidity.
I’ve watched hours of shooting videos on TH-cam and they do the same basic trash blah blah blah. This is straight heat. The perfect video for any shooter of any level. Love the work brother.
Hi! I’ve watched nearly all of your videos since I was in elemantary school, and you have helped me a TON with my game & most of the stuff I know comes from you. I am now averaging nearly 40 points per game in high school (probably not as impressive haha, as I’m not from the US and I’m sure American high schoolers are a lot more competitive). I’ve got a scholarship to Northwest Missouri State, a D2 college. Thank you for all you have done.
That's great! You are an example of consistency! I'm older but I plan to get out of my comfort zone and practice! Maybe you'll be in the nba one day, keep it up!
So glad this video exists. For some reason I’ve always been super inconsistent as a shooter and recently I’ve been putting up Ben Simmons stat lines. Today in a 5on5 pick up with my friends, I counted my stats. 2-12FG 4pts, 15reb, 12ast 💀💀
You technically need to shoot a little differently depending on the situation. I'd recommend shooting actual game-like shots instead of just stationary jumpers: - Going left or right - shooting towards your strong hand side requires some extra rotation against that direction, since you can't fully rely on your base to be perfect at full speed (think Kyle Korver/Redick fading and turning on their catch and shoots) - Mid-range vs. 3 - The further you go out, the lower the set point and earlier the release. You can see this with most shooters, especially Trae imo
coach thanks so much for this your helping me out a ton learning to fundamentals so well explained i can’t thank you enough for puttin the time in for these vids
What has really improved my shot was working on my off-hand motion. I no longer mind my shooting hand when I shoot. I guess you could make a video on that as well.
@@EzeAsuoha that means that the motion you make with your shooting hand loses importance when you start focusing on your off-hand. By the time the ball leaves your shooting hand, your other hand has to be completely off the ball. When you practice that synchronization your shooting percentage increases right away. I hope that helps!
these videos are great. been trying to develop a good shot on my own and ive only recently been getting somewhere. lotsa tweaks but I finally feel good about it.
Hey coach! Can you please make a video of player breakdown of Luka doncic his footwork I love it for slow players like me i really love the videos so informative!
I have been a pretty bad shooter all my life and i did everything everyone says but in this video it talked about the shooting pocket and i went to the park and noticed a difference immediately
this is kind of hard to do but remembering to shoot the ball in a way where it spins you way so it doesnt circle around the rim and can sometimes affect your shot if it is wonky. to know if your doing it right when you shoot it should slowly bounce back to you
What Steph said about shooting really resonated with me. "Focus on your feet before focusing on the hoop". The rest is just practice. And it actually work for me. The follow through came naturally and all i needed was to plant my feet solid before and after shooting. I havent played basketball in like forever but that feeling of a perfect released knowing its going in still lingers
Can you please do a video on ball pickup?? Like when you are driving to the rim and help defenders try to swipe at the ball, so you have to pick it up, can you teach that please, the different ways and how to not get the ball stolen
Hey appreciate this video man. I go play with some of my co-workers every week and I always feel dumb that I can't make any of my shots, this video, and my dad, really helped me to realize anyone can become a great shooter I'd they put the effort in and work on being consistent and confident tot the point you know when the shot is going to go in. Thank you for making these videos, they have really helped me have a more positive outlook in my game in general. Keep up the great work 💯
Finally! Tips from me: I level my shoulder when I will shoot notice their elbow making 90 degrees or making their elbow straight before shooting sorry for bad English
Bro i just make sure when i get the ball my guide hand is holding the ball with fingertips only while shooting hand get full palm grip. I also kinda turn my guide hand perpendicular to my shooting hand if you get what I mean.
@@CoachFrikki how should i do it without a rebounder? i really want to improve my shooting but there is no open gym in my city i must go to a local outside court and also school is taking up my time
How can i increase my control on the release when i have small hands and the guide hand needs to help me more than being just a help hand and shoot with one
There's a Basketball league in my school and I'm grade 10, I want to join it but I feel like my body doensn't want to, I wanna make memories with my friends as grade 10 but so many people might watch, and when I picture that in my head I get anxieties and nervousness. It's like I want to play Basketball but my Brain is saying "There's alot of physicality on basketball leagues, What if you failed? Choked? Or do embarrassing things?" I still can't decide whether to join or not.
a lot of people told me to shoot with my elbow tucked in but when i shoot with my elbow out a little bit it's more comfortable for me and i get more power and i shoot from the middle, is that good or should i fix my form?
Nah, I remember seeing on a post on Insta that elbow out is fine. Also, like he says in the video, we all have our unique shooting form. Stick with that form bro. Have a wonderful day.

@@Adoof_3.0 That is the whole issue, expecting the worst never helps. If you know you put in the work than expect it to pay off.

I've been waiting ages for Coach Frikki to post a video exactly like this. Thank you so much I needed this a lot.

I recently broke my wrist and I'm 2 weeks away from fully recovering, what drills would you recommend for coming back. It was my off hand btw.
flexing both ways and then progress to with light dumbell and also dribbling

Great Video! Sometimes I go over the correct way to shoot and things but sometimes it’s not consistent, do you know any good drills to do for my shot?

If your better without back spin don't change it

you should probably change it anyways. you're getting by with talent but you could be much better
