  • Terry Rozier. Is there anything to be said about Scary Terry that he hasn’t already proven on the court? He played in 80 games during the regular season, mostly as the backup point guard to NBA All-Star Kyrie Irving. Following Kyrie’s injury, however, he stepped into a larger role, and averaged career numbers across the board. He finished the season averaging 11.3 points per game, but it was more like 14.7 points per following the end to Ky’s season. Then, when the lights got brighter and teams got to game plan for the Celtics’ guys more, TRo got even tougher. As the starting point guard for the #2 seed in the Eastern Conference, Rozier rose to the occasion, averaging 16.5 points per game with 5.3 rebounds, 5.7 assists, and 1.3 steals per in 36.6 minutes a game.
Essentially, what I’m trying to say is that if the former Louisville Cardinal can carry over the momentum of masterfully filling in at lead guard from Brad Stevens, then the sky is the limit. Obviously he’s still young (he turned 24 in March), but he’s learning the game from a genuine genius of a head coach, an NBA champion in Kyrie, and world class players like Gordon Hayward and Al Horford. Who knows if his future is to remain in Boston? Whether he does or not, boy oh boy, is he going to be a problem for years to come.
