If you think they are getting worse then so is the beloved Platinum Games since they released a trailer for a great looking hack and slash okami style game called World of Demons...for mobile LOL Its the way japan is, they have a huge mobile phone market so they make tons of games for it and do get popular even here in the west. Koonami was correct lol.

Me either, most anticipated 'indie' of the year for me, and in my top 5 overall. Also my most anticipated on Switch... yeah, I know everyone else is screaming for the first party titles (which I like too), but I really just can't wait until I have the option to play Bloodstained either on my big screen or on the go. :)

I know that, I am a big castlevania fan but it does not change the fact that my eyes like bloodstained less in screenshots, also I don't know if bloodstained has any other original team members than IGA and yamane, seems like it's made by random people around the world ( I will buy bloodstained and ignore grimoire because I still use flip phone from the 90s, so don't use fanboy rage on me).

I think Konami created this game solely because of Bloodstained's popularity. Since the game is coming out this year, and Konami being Konami, might want to grab Castlevania fans's attention away from Bloodstained. It's their way of screwing around with IGA. Of course, there's no proof of that, but it wouldn't be surprising. Either way, the new Castlevania game should have been for console.

First they created an MGS slot machine, then they created a horribly bad MGS Survive game and now they made it into the lowest common denominator by creating a mobile game of Castlevania.

Plus based on what I found out grimoire is a seudo-sequal to Dawn of sorrow. The plot being arikado (alucard) getting a letter that the grimoire can bring back Dracula and arikado goes with the explanation being the grimoire somehow able to bring characters from previous games (and Soma since HE'S STILL ALIVE AT THIS POINT), and his assistant

We're watching it and we like it so does it matter what we call it? I can't wait for the second season. I have high hopes.

They just released the 8 bit version of Bloodstained a few days ago as it was one of the stretch goals. I recall 4 playable characters, maybe more. It looks good. Check it out if you are up for a new game.

Never gonna happen. I'll stick with Bloodstained which is the best chance of that style being revived properly. Should be out later this year, so not much longer before we know for certain, but with Iga running the show, and a full all star voice cast, it has a lot of potential.

To be fair they seem to be going back to the previous canon but it isn't right to not have Igarashi on board.
Why is Konami still using Simon Belmont's original look? Come on. Castlevania 1 took place in the late 17th Century. Last time I checked, people did not dress up like Conan the Barbarian in the late 1600's. I can see Simon looking a bit more like a Puritan warrior, rather than a medieval barbarian.

It was KickStartered by none other than Koji Igarashi, the man who's shaped the major release CastleVania games since Symphony of the Night and a TRUE master of gothic horror and visual storytelling. I'm a proud backer and everything that's been released as far as previews and updates go has been breathtaking. It's a masterpiece. With CastleVania and the rock-bottom Konami encountering Koji's vision and the labor of love that it has become, it's simple to say: "The king is dead. LONG LIVE THE KING!"

Guy’s, we legitimately know nothing more about this game than it is cooperative and on iOS. Having played a few iOS titles myself with a steel series controller, I am not terribly worried about the only valid concern that was stated in this video with the information we know about. That said, let’s put out the fires, call back the pitch-fork wielding villagers, and just see how this develops. Konami is likely aware of what the fans want and they in turn wish to make a profit off their IP. Bringing Castlevania to the mobile platform under the right circumstances can very easily turn out to be just the boost that the title needs.
This is for the Japanese market so it makes sense to be released on iOS. Just needs a Android release.
Here's what Konami really needs to do. Go back to being the Konami they were 20 years ago.

It's because Konami can't handle the Castlevania franchise. It's better this way; either the IGA timeline or the LoS timeline going to work, so let's the legend rest in peace and maybe in a century, we get back the good Konami and the good franchises.
Konami could revive itself with Castlevania, but seems to choose not to. SOTN was the first game I ever played and it will forever be my favorite. Just want more is all.

Anyway, to toss my opinion out here: while the show looks nice enough, I'm not such a huge fan of the art style that I would want more media in that style. But to each his own!

An iOS game could be a great addition. Especially given that your main concern is the controller but there are so many Bluetooth controllers that I would love to have a portable Castlevania other than gba or ps1 ROMs on tablet
Well... I can’t say Castlevania wouldn’t work on iOS, since there have been several obvious clones that have played really well, but with Konami the way it is right now I just don’t see it being any good...

All of the Symphony of the Night clones...er, I mean sequels they did on DS/3DS were fun, but really just smaller versions of the original with a few twists and different characters. I can't wait til later this year when IGA (the creator behind the original SOTN) and his team release Bloodstained. Finally we'll have a really successor with that game play style to enjoy. And with it releasing on many platforms (Switch included!) I can play it on the big screen or on the go.

I think the game would be fun if they ported it to Switch and Ps4 but I hate trying to move characters with a touch screen controls.
