Selmar is so purposeful in everything he does. I love his tender touch and care with the beautiful Chateau de Lalande. And I thought the video of him making his mother's apple pie recipe was just the sweetest! Stephanie you and your mother are so precious too! Everything you do together has such a sparkle of elegance and whimsy. Dreamy!

This is going to be a spectacular Château when it’s finished and I am so thankful you are the person who has a vision for everything that is laying around. I know people who would just throw it in the burn pile and burn it. You can always donate some of those things like the birthdays that you don’t want to a historical Society group and let them help you figure out who might want them for their historical renovations so that you’re not terribly overwhelmed with trying to keep everything. There’s a balance between saving things that are useful and trying to keep everything because, you know, it all has a history!! The WOOD Especially has so much Cressman ship in it and I am like you I could never get rid of it. In time, you will find the right place for those pieces and you have plenty of rooms for them. I am so thankful you have a lot of support and God bless all of the volunteers to come and help you as well as the other craftsman that come in to make the Château everything it is….. and is going to be. There are certain areas I’m especially excited to see the renovation for. As an interior designer IA started my studies in architecture first and I truly love and appreciate history first and I’m so glad many of you are putting your work on TH-cam so that we can learn and enjoy your process but also see firsthand the history that’s involved in Realization of the shit toes.
I love your Easter TH-cam that you did was fill up and Anna and I thought it was just about the most authentic video I have seen in a very long time. God bless you for your originality in that video but also the kindness and love you put in to your video.❣️❣️ it was just like something out of a story book and I’m never going to forget it. Thank you for these wonderful videos and sharing your life with us. I look forward to more videos😊♥️♥️🌈

You can create a map of a regional tour of activities and include your shop as one of the stops. Wine tastings, too. Your volunteers can operate it.

The trail ends there, but there is a chance I’m related to a certain LaLande clan from the Quebec area. If I’m related to them, I can trace that family back to a LaLande family in 1026 in Paris.

I don't know why I find these places more fascinating than the finished rooms lived in by the wealthy people who built the chateau but I do. To be able to go back in time and see the working estate and speak to those who lived there and worked it would be magical. How many servants must it have taken?

I’m with you, Stephanie . Here is an idea! Open the bread oven room wall with a wide door and a barn door on rails to close as required. Loved the tour and the old treasures from around the estate. Also, perhaps all the treasures, architectural design bits should be stored all in one place so they can be photographed and catalogued for future use. Will help loads in your design process. Love. Love the grey and blue floor tiles.

With respect, such a bread oven is reliant on the ambient atmosphere ie. air flow, humidity, temperature etc.... that's one of my favourite videos so far.Thank you Stephanie and your intrepid videographers! You asked for suggestions. Well I would love to see an art studio and workshop space in there (being an artist) Perhaps the wood hanger or upstairs from? I would be an amazing multi-purpose arts space. Art studio, come theatre, come gallery! It could even host great rustic medieval feasts! Imagine that (more more important then storing wood! ;) ) I would love to see you retaining/creating some of the diverse functions the spaces towards more self-sufficancy too. Imagine a wonderful artist colony and community being around that courtyard! :) I have so many ideas... oh also I would love the little rose room near the pizza oven please! Xx

Stephanie, you remind me of my older sister. Along with my younger sister we talked endlessly about opening a little shop where my younger sister would offer her paintings, I would offer my sewing wares and my older sister would come up with the ideas. The shoppe name was to be "The Sisters Three." The dream died when my older sister pass away from a long illness. But I can visualize the dream every time I watch your vlog. Thank you.

You have an Alladin's cave. So many rooms to explore, so many secrets to uncover. And you have a treasure with you, Mommy Isabelle. Do fulfill your dreams for this apartment and share with us the progress. Meantime, be safe and well to all in Lalande.

Every time I watch your videos I am immediately inspired to view my little apartment differently! In fact I now consider my apartment complex (6 units) as a chateau, and my space as beautiful nook in the building. I hop up during, and after, watching and go about changing and beautifying and it's thanks to you

What a wonder LaLande is! Those outbuildings are wonderful spaces! You may want to keep in mind though as you move something out, say the roosters, it will need a new home! You'll need a new chicken coop and a woodshed, for example. You may want to keep some space for a garage and a workshop. And don't forget, imho every house needs a "junk room," whether an attic, basement, garage or somewhere to store *stuff* (seasonal decorations, odd bits for the house/chateau).

I love seeing these videos around Lalande! It's a TON of work but you seem to enjoy the journey-which is important, as it is a definite work in progress to restore and make use of all of Lalande. Your care and attention to detail in your renovations is very evident. And you show great artistry in your decor and fabric choices. You have a very good eye for design and Lalande can only benefit from your care. I only recently discovered your channel and I'm glad to be a part if your journey 😄

Stephanie, please open a gofundme for renovating the stable rooms. It has been successful for Michael. Then you would have funds to start getting those rooms set up. A lot of people can contribute to one time offerings rather than monthly. And a lot of us want to do both! Please consider it. Love to you and Mummy. You two are adorable!

I could see a whole village of people living in a tent city with workers and craftsman loving every moment of it. Once that pond gets restored it would be a little working village. Sponsorship from a tent company wanting to use the experience and the chateau history to show glamping and their products. What an opportunity to be apart of a much bigger goal. Workers, cooks, grounds keepers, artists and Stephanie and Mummy hosting. That field across the road made into a whole little city.

Stephanie already lives like that in a way. With better heating of course. You may be on to something with that idea. I wonder if one of those society type trusts would sponsor it and organize it or just throw money at it to get it going. The only thing is making sure the work was getting done by qualified people and not turn into a homeless shelter and soup kitchen.

But Laundry..that's my thing. I believe you really hit the jackpot with Selmar,he is such a kind man with a huge heart. Very lucky to have him there. And Diesel as well.

@Tammy Burchett ~ freshly laundered washing, blowing about and dancing on the washing line! One of life's pleasures ( well for me : ) a neighbour and I reckon that we must have been washerwomen ( or laundresses, if we feel more refined: )! in a previous, and obviously happy life, as we love our laundry, and is how we got chatting ... apart from running a home, with three children and a lovely husband she is also a whizz in high finance in the city, so is no slouch, me neither ... in fact whilst most of us have been in lockdown, she has been required to go into work ... There is something therapeutic though isn't there?! ... Let's trust that you get to LaLande at some point to help out! My fingers are crossed for you, Dee Dee ~
