    Great advice! Too many people are making shirts that they want to make instead of shirts that the customer wants. I think our job is to create what is in demand and find a way to make it look good. Putting yourself in the customer's POV is genius!

    Thanks Juna, that is how I try to think, when I am designing.
    Do you have a video about the customer base for each POD platform? For example, I am assuming, more women shop on Etsy and Zazzle. I would think more women shop, period, but I would think Amazon would have a mixture of both men and women, and I am not sure about Redbubble, Teespring, Society 6, etc.
    Also, what is the better platform, for artists? I think, for Amazon, it would probably sell more simple designs, like you just picked out, but what about the other platforms? Is there any of these platforms, that truly favor artists, that have unique artwork? Everyone has done the "vintage" sunset designs, and I think they are getting boring. I think, I have ADHD, because I get bored easily, when everyone is doing the same thing. I like unique designs. Obviously, those sunsets sell, so it is good to make them, to make sales, but I am sure there are more people, like me, who would like to see some different things, and who are specifically looking to be different.

      I'm seeing a lot of really good artists sell on either Threadless, TeePublic or RedBubble or a combo of them.... Some of them also try their hand at t-shirt contest sites.

    Exactly. What is your take about amazon puting content of famous brands in some of our listing's? Brian did a video about it. I think this:
    (What? 🤯😱😱😱 people that buy there are not stupid 🙄 😒 they check the brand before buying. . If you are not Disney, buyer need to actually ❤️ your design over a famous brand...
    Amazon merch is actually puting a famous brands in front of your possible buyer, saying, hey... you may actually preffer a nice "star wars" shirt instead... 👕
    And even worst... using your paid advertising so people go to your listing and amazon is piggybacking on that to show branded content that will convert more... actually it is a disgrace and abuse.)
    I might be wrong . But it would be interesting your opinion...

    • @DetourShirts
      @DetourShirts  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This is the first I'm hearing about this... I mean I know there are big brands at Amazon but I didn't think Amazon is using our ad money to put them in our listing..... Are you talking about under our listing like "Products related to this listing?"

    • @CaroFERRO
      @CaroFERRO 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@DetourShirts @Detour Shirts Hi Juna, I just saw your message... the branded content appears in some of amazon merch listings. When you scrolldown on a listing, amazon put something called: "from the manufacturer", there are photos of big brands shirts like Disney, star wars and others. This content seems to apear randomly. Ryan Hogue describes it in his video "amazon merch sales are about to go up" but he sees it as a good thing. I am not so sure if you are paying for ads and when people click to see your listing, they also can see the other content:" from the manufacturer" . as I see it, it can affect conversions.

    Are you aware that there is a Sort By: filter menu selector on the upper right of the Amz search results? Selecting Featured (default) will show mostly designs that are currently selling well. Choose Newest Arrivals to see the latest batch of tshirts with no or little sales! It is unlikely customers are using this, but if they did, new designs with no sales history would have a better chance at a sale.

    • @DetourShirts

      I am aware.... yeah most customers don't use that but you could... helps sellers more that customers IMO

    Great video! How about the keywords used together with the new design? What’s your opinion considering the customer view approach?

    • @DetourShirts
      @DetourShirts  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes... keywords are very important... of course it has to match your new design of course but if you are in the same topic then most of the keywords you find in the titles and autocomplete should still work.

    I think most customers think about price - some probably more than others but I think it's at least a consideration for most. Could you talk about your thoughts on pricing?

    • @DetourShirts
      @DetourShirts  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes.... some do shop with price in mind.... some see a low price as a good deal, others see a low price and think low quality... I like to make my price match at least the market value if not higher... I try to price my shirts on Amazon at $19.99

    Great insight. I have been disappointed with the lack of sales of some of my designs, and then applied your process and realized that if someone was searching for a shirt like the ones I had designed, they would have started with a search that was different than what I had keyworded and titled for. So I learned that my design gets a C+ and my keywords and title get a D-. But now I have a better perspective and can improve future products. Thank you!
