I played college football, and when one is sure one can compete with an opponent, one usually concentrates, but when one is intimidated coming into the game, there is a separation from what one is experiencing, and one's thought process, hence lack of concentration.
22 yard filed goal on a 4th and 1 with 3.5 minutes left in the game, after playing against the 2nd string defense for the entire 4th quarter. Mark Richt were you trying to win the ACC championship or were you trying to tell people at lest we weren't shut out. That call to kick a field goal pretty much summarizes the amount of fight and will to win that the entire Miami roster and coaching staff had going into that game.
You guys have come a long way since Golden. Give Richt another year or so to get his players in there and you guys will be a powerhouse in the Coastal.

I remember a certain Big East championship game a few years ago. Donovan McNabb and Syracuse put a beating on the Canes in that game. A few years later, Miami fielded the most dominant college football team of all time (2001) and I believe that history will repeat itself. Miami is coming.

The funny thing is that 2 years before they played #10 University of North Carolina in the ACC Championship game in the same stadium in Charlotte, NORTH CAROLINA and the crowd was 70/30 Clemson fans and the stadium is equidistant from both schools. I also remember a Halloween night game at Wake Forest on ESPN, and it looked like a Clemson Home game, the crowd was about 75% Clemson fans. They travel really well!

Miami had a qb who could not throw the ball, yet they run an four receiver offense. Classic example of not coaching to your talent. Rosier (Miami QB) shoould only pass 15 times a game 20 at the most. Talk about putting a player in a position to do what he's not good at. I wasn't happy when they hired Richt in the first place. This offense was offensive.
I thought Richt would have done a much better job. Clemson was a very good team, but Moami was well capable of keeping up with them imo. The coaching just wasn't good enough. That's always been a huge issue for Miami.
