I recently started doing DIY for making LED panels and came across your channel -- I have to say, sanding the acrylic is such an amazing idea - thank you! I will be trying this out and I subbed to your channel.
Just letting you know I found you via random suggestion of the LED video wall on my home page. Cool videos and ideas. I'd say this one could use some polish (or a collab with a woodworking channel could be neat), but the idea is solid.
@@Tech-Random I have posted a few videos about arduino powered RGB lighting so I can certainly appreciate the hard work you put into these projects. Subbed instantly.
Thanks for the support! More are joining each day and I’m starting to get sponsored so I can make better content. I’m excited to see this channel grow!
The wires are just held together with masking tape haha. I laid down a long strip of tape and stuck the wires down and wrapped around it. I have no idea what sand paper grit I used, honestly I just used the finest grit I already had. Hope that helps!
Thanks for the video, found this from instructables. Only thing I would recommend is for video content like this, a little more in depth on the controls for the colors, wiring, sound reactive part and such in the video would be great.
New sub, not from Instructables but from HackaDay. Looks like you are trying hard to make that dorm room different. I look forward to more videos Chris.
I just get my songs from the TH-cam audio library so I have no clue what the name of that one is. I'm going to start adding a list of songs to my descriptions though since a few people have asked.
great project, though while watching i saw several ways in which it could be done a bit different to make things a bit stronger and a bit less light bleedover.
They could definitely be a bit stronger. I imagine they wouldn’t hold up if they fell of the wall but they’ve done pretty well so far. I hope you try and make your own design, it’s a fun project!
Yes the supply I used can’t power very many LEDs. You’ll want a 5V supply but to get the amperage you should use this equation: minimum Amps = #Leds * 0.05
Great video, as always. I feel that I stumbled upon you from Thingiverse. QQ: What did you end up replacing the strips with after not liking the single LEDs being visible. I may have missed your fix when watching; guilty multitasker.
I haven’t actually fixed it yet. What you see in all the shots is still a 30 led per meter strip. When it’s placed above eye level it looks way better!
Also, for your power supplies, check out Andreas video on re-purposing old server power supplies that can be had for the cheap: th-cam.com/video/0IX3euYOb5E/w-d-xo.html
I’m working on setting up a project I can sell. These lamps are super easy though. If you get the parts I’m sure you’d be surprised how fast you get it working

Sick video and that breathing rainbow looks awesome.
Glad you enjoyed!

Super awesome project as always, Chris!! Can't wait to see even more vids!

I'll support this! :D
You could probably easily integrate a self built Fibonacci Clock with these lamps. Very cool project!
Great idea. Might look into that for a future update
What is the tubing that you used around the wires? And what grit of did you use when sanding the acrylic?

I want one😍😍😍 Always killing it Chris! Love your videos :)

Hey, cool video! BTW, what's that animating-pixel-thing reflecting in the smart mirror?
Check out the first video on my channel. I made a wall with clickable light up tiles!

Thanks for the sub! I’ll show off my new room in my video this weekend ;-)
I love your DIYS! Do you have 2 power supply for the two lamps?
Yep. Each lamp has its own 5v 2a supply
very good videos, keep it up, greetings from Argentina
It seems very cool, Yes I´m going to try to do it and in some days I hope to tell you how it was....And by the way, very a good job. Thanks
Good luck! Hope it turns out good
What was the intro song you used? Nice final product too, you deserve more subs

Woohoo! Thanks for the support!
do you need a bigger power supply is we go with the 300 leds

@@Tech-Random Your description says LEDs * 0.5 .... that would be a lot of Amps!
Yes. Yes it is
DONT STOP DOING THAT
Came back here just to like the videos.
Means a lot! Thanks for the support
There's a WLED fork that include sound reactive functionality "atuline
WLED"
I’ve seen it and I’ve used it since I made this video!
theres a PR to add this to the main code, hopefully in 11
