I just love watching the daily life at the chateau. It's like being transported to fairyland, and Stephanie is the epitome of a beautiful blonde princess!! As you say, everyone is so talented, and I find them very inspiring. I left for France on my own as a widow some 21 years ago. I was so happy living in the French countryside with my dogs. I was the only Brit. but my neighbours made me very happy. I am now 78 and back in England....but at least I have my memories. I do so admire you Stephanie for what you have achieved. Your fabulous chateau is a dream.

In the US, we call them zucchini, and you can make a delicious zucchini bread (loaf), sort of like a banana bread. Delicious for breakfast with soft cream cheese and can be frozen so you can make a lot
I love Succhini bread with walnuts and sultana : very easy to make and freeze very. Well..... I cut them in thick slices and wrap them individualy and freeze . Pop them in the toaster straight from the freezer and voila my breakfast ready . Some recipe than banana bread. I make big batch for the family . It is always available and ready to be used in the freezer. I also do it with carrots . But of course we are not spoil by la boulangerie beautiful croissant au chocolat . Love Stephanie when you make a video juste at Lalande . It cheer me up and make me laugh ! A real joy in my life . I miss Cat , will we ever see her again? I hope so . Love you all .

The pink room looks as though the Toille factory exploded and shrapnel pierced every inch of this room. It's far too much now.
Zucchini/gourgette can be frozen by grating or cutting very small. No blanching needed! I use it for pumpkin bread, pie, or fritters. I love zucchini soup and to freeze it I cook them cut in cubes with onion and garlic, let it cool and freeze. Later in the winter I’ll thaw it, cook it up, add spices, purée it, add cream and serve with toasted pumpkin seeds/bacon … yum!

With regards courgettes, you could make Ratatouille and then freeze batches for lovely winter veggies ☺️. It's delicious on jacket potatoes, with meat and as a side. Also courgette cake 😋

The thing I am often blown away by when I watch your videos Stephanie is the incredible vocabulary that your team have when their first language isn’t English - Maria just said “semi-homogeneous state” - well it took me a few minutes of googling before I could work out how to spell it to be able to include it in this comment. Amazing! Philip does it too. Such intelligence! Love it. Victoria x
This happens quite alot actually. When people get comfortable with the English language they start making "educated guesses" on what the best English word would be in the situation. They take words from their native tongue and "make them English". A lot of European languages descent from the same languages, so the educated guesses are usually actual words or close to actual words (there are some vlogs where you see this happening with Philip)
She might have gone to an english grammer school in Cyprus . They have great schools in Limassol.

Every season in La Londe has it's own beauty and flavor because of the different people that inhabit the chateaux. But I have to say, I am very very fond of the Pavlina/Maria essence; it's so wholesome, strong, humble and fun. They're friendship and teamwork, their determination to always make the best of situations is the sunshine my life needs. Thank you for sharing it with us.

I would absolutely love, love, love seeing all musical lalande doing full songs, full piano pieces, multi musical performances. A full hour plus long show of this for Christmas would be amazing, or any other holiday! Brilliant! (I am a musician too, lol). But, at Lalande you have professional musicians! It was wonderful to hear Maria play Debussy a very french writer! Truly lovely!

Courgettes are lovely stuffed with chopped nuts. Mix the chopped nuts with porridge oats & add hot water & stock powder or whatever flavouring you need.

Here’s an idea! You guys should start an Instagram page targeted towards your local town where you provide the surplus of your produce to the local residents. It could even be nice to make it for free for those struggling :) everyday, somebody could update the Instagram story of what’s available for pick up. You could give it a name like “The Grocer at Chateau de Lalande”. Maybe it could grow big enough to where one of your outbuildings can house it and you can sell more lalande products like lavender, candles, honey, flowers, etc.
perhaps you could put in Liatris Blazing Star in the courtyard gardens? It blooms purple on tall stalks, and blooms after the lavender and lilies finish. it also doesn't take up much space horizontally, so it shouldn't crowd the other plants too much.
I would love to see some Russian sage 'somewhere' it can spread out in all its blazing glory!

I love lavender too and have many plants in my gardens. I trim it out in Jul/Aug for more blooms in Sept/Oct but maybe that depends on the type. I love the color, smell and the look of them. Planting it around your chateau would look great!

I love all the flowers that are being picked and put in bouquets! All so beautiful! I live in So CA and in our drought does not allow that many flowering plants to grow. I am with Dan though - that is too much happening in one room. But, still beautiful for the chateau. Being being your blessing for internet connection, Andrew has the most gorgeous head of hair!

zucchini Tots Ingredients
for 5 servings
TOTS
4 medium-sized zucchinis
¾ cup bread crumbs(70 g)
¾ cup shredded cheddar cheese(75 g)
2 eggs
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon pepper
salt, to pull moisture from the zucchini

Preparation
Preheat oven to 400°F (200˚C.)
Grate the zucchini into a bowl and salt generously.
Allow zucchini to sit for 20 minutes as the salt draws out moisture.
Pour zucchini onto a clean dish towel and wring it out over the sink or into a separate bowl.
Pour the zucchini back into your bowl and add bread crumbs, cheddar cheese, eggs, garlic powder, and pepper. Mix together until well-blended.
Take a tablespoon of mixture and roll it into a tot, repeat for rest of mixture.
Place on a greased baking sheet and place in the oven for 20-25 minutes or until tots are crunchy. Serve warm.
Enjoy! I serve with a Sour Cream dressing

Courgettes are called Zucchini in the US. I slice them into circles, fry them in bacon grease with garlic, then top with parmesan cheese! We also make a quick bread called Zucchini bread, and fritters. Hope these are ideas to help use them up, but I am sure you already have loads of wonderful recipes!
With courgette you can make marmalade. 6 cups peeled/grated Zucchini/Courgette. Boil carefully until clear 12-15 min. Add 5-6 cups sugar, 1/2 cup lemon juice, 1 cup crushed pineapple. Boil 5 min and remove from heat. Add 1 - 6 oz jello (your choice orange, lemon, peach or apricot) Stir until dissolved. Seal in Jars. Some people might add a grated orange to give it more flavor. It's up to the cook. ♥
Selling jars of marmalade would actually be a great idea for the LaLande shop, rather than just the courgettes themselves.
