Nice to finally have full integration. The record button worked from first launch of the Smooth 5, you just had to choose Smooth 4 in the menu. I’ve been using that feature since day one.

Thanks for watching and subbing! I haven’t tested that, but you can’t normally do it in FP, so I don’t think it can be done with the gimbal. In FP you can zoom in/out though while recording, but I’m not a fan of doing that unless you’re shooting sports or maybe news.

@@iphoneographers Check out the settings/device/volume Keys Trigger Recording setting. Turn on blue tooth on the phone and turn this on. Don't know if it will work with a crane but it let you turn on and off recording with a Smooth 5 before they integrated it.
No. There’s no photo capability in Filmic Pro. However, when shooting 4K you can easily grab a still frame in post to use, especially for online (like a thumbnail, etc.). For serious photo stuff you need another app. Filmic actually has a photo app called Firstlight you might checkout.

@@iphoneographers I have always been concerned that variable shutter speed might make the video look strange but I have to admit what i've shot seems OK and in the native app on an Iphone we have none of these choices. So perhaps I am trying too hard to make an Iphone into a DSLR instead of just making Iphone movies 😎
By locking the shutter using a third-party app like FiLMiC Pro you can get great results. That’s one of the number one things I recommend doing along with adding an ND filter when shooting outside and suddenly your iPhone footage will no longer look like “iPhone footage”. :)
@@iphoneographers Thanks, I do that but often film homes inside where light levels vary greatly in one room. I do better with the reticle mode in auto with the exposure reticle on the leading side of the pan or other movement to give the camera a chance to react. In that manner, I'm actually able to pan across a window looking out onto a sun-lit yard and see the yard in the shot vs a white rectangle. Everything is a compromise but if there was an auto ISO with fixed aperture and shutter speed I think it would help with that.
Just re-tried Filmic Pro. 13PM. Recordings say the iPhone is out of space, but "not to worry since they are stored in FP's gallery". Turns out only 5-10 seconds of each video were (e.g. of a 30m long recording). I have 100GB+ free. I did several tests and basically, no matter the setting, anything longer than 5 minutes throws that error and it's NOT saved in the gallery, except the short clip version. If I use the stock camera, 4k60, I can do 1h38m dolby vision before the iPhone says I'm out of memory. I'd love to use FP over ZY Cami, but it utterly fails to save your videos.

Do you use the wide lens the most Or is the 77mm worthy of the upgrade meaning the native tele is better than the 2x lens + tele lens, I want a specific look 👀 with this gimbal and I’m just curious what you would pick or just wait for the 14 and hope that the lens will have better returns / coverage? I have the se right now and it’s great with external lenses. I hope that was clear to understand
The new 3x is an inferior lens/camera IMO. It’s nice to have the longer reach, but it’s softer and considerably worse in any kind of low light. And Tele on Tele doesn’t work really at all. If it was me being 5 months until the 14 is released I’d probably wait and see.

So tele on tele is not a good idea, just stick to tele on wide, and forget the 3x tele on anything other than daylight, completely makes sense and it makes me feel better about my purpose, I will definitely need to check out your beast grip videos for the 3x tele and revisit them, and yes 5 months couldn’t come any sooner but I will be patient! Can’t use tracking with Filmic Pro. Haven’t tried the Cami app for that yet, but it’d really be the one to look at.

I’m having trouble mounting my s21 ultra in vertical mode on zhiyun smooth 5, have you had any luck in doing so?
I have not played with that much I shoot mostly everything horizontal, but I’ll look at it again.

It’s my favorite smartphone gimbal right now for sure, so yeah it’s worth it IMO.

So no follow mode capability in Filmic Pro? I just got this today after returning DJI OM5 and only could utilize follow mode via ZY Cami. S22
