But the problem which I am having in my mind is.. where do I start with ?Where can i learn the basics of this and move on to advanced? I need to learn the basics of Ma2on pc first..but how can I do that? I was wondering since like a few months trying to get info for this stuff. finally got here :) Thanks for helping new learners like me.
Hey man,to start with I would recommend watching as many videos as you can and then just play around in MA2 onPC,if you dedicate yourself to learning it,it will become second nature in no time. Its taken me around 10 months to get to where I am now with no formal training and only learning on Saturdays and Sundays. For tutorials subscribe to my channel,Christian Jackson has some good videos,Console Training is pretty good and then also just ask questions on TH-cam and ma-share.net
I didn't know there was a way to do this on the MA2. It's a feature I use heavily on Chamsys and Avolites consoles and I miss it everywhere else. Thanks for the tutorial. I'll be using this for sure.

Hi ethan i have trying to get this thing figured out since a long time..i explain it..i dont know if u r familiar with a function in avolite called locate with no pan or tilt..i wanted to know of there is a fuction like tht in grand ma 2 series..i have figured out a way to keep a default position when ever u hit clear by making a position pallette as my default but i wanted to know a way to locate the lights with the last kept position..plz let me know if there is such an option in grand ma 2
Hey Ethan, I've got some Martin MH1s and MH3s in my setup, for which I've assigned various pan/tilt patterns to the executor buttons. I'm trying to make it so that one executor for pan (for example) kills an existing executor effect button for tilt when activated. I hope that makes sense. Is there a way?
i am having a similiar issue as others where the grand master and blackout button bring everything to home. the default to "react to master" is "on" and it wont let me change it to "off". How do i fix this?
Hey, how do you run these Movement Effects in a Sequence? Are these just empty Cues and the Effect is somehow triggered by CMD? Or is the actual Effect information stored in the Cues?
i have a problem with that. if you turn off the effect Then you have to release and turn the executor to full again (the original not the remote one) when youre other effect is running. can't find a work around for that
The way I run my showfile doesn't allow for that,also since I use around 7 effects per fixture type I would have to use multiple pages which I dislike and having one executor for an effect for multiple types of lights is something I personally would never do. It also allows me to "switch on effects" before they are needed so I can bring them in slowly or so I can have them fire at the drop of a song. If you prefer to run effects on faders,I totally respect that. I have nothing against that I just personally do not like it. Let me know if you have any more questions.

Hi - so the Effect Size Fader works perfectly but there is one little problem with it: when you press and hold down the Blackout-Button the Movement Effect also stops and this looks pretty strange in the show. Do you have any idea how to avoid this? Is there a function in MA2 where you can say something like "Ignore Grand Master" on an Executer?

Any idea why my remote fader causes the effect size fader to snap between 0 and 100%...the effect size fader works as expected gradually decreasing the size of the effect as you move the fader up. It's the inverted remote that is troubling me; I have triple checked the Assign Options and both Execs are set to Temp. (Note: I notice "Release First Step is not present in either exec's assign options)
Hey saw you changing a speed fader in, im having a trouble making it work. I tried to change a value thru top panel control-> mspeed but it didnt make any diffrence (slower or faster a movement) in ma3d and also fixtueres in ma3d seems to move much slower than yours, can u please help me:)
Well,all the speed fader is doing is being referenced by effects. To do this simply press assign and tap an exec,go to function in the assign menu,then to special masters at the bottom. Then select one of the options under "Masters 3 Speedmaster". Once thats done go into your effect and select the speed master under the speed group option

Which part can't you get to work? The invert or the actual stomp part? Make sure you have an effect running when storing it and double check the fader setup. If its the invert part make sure the fixture is setup correctly. I've put my email in the description so if that doesn't work,send me an email with your showfile and I will check whats wrong.

Jonas. the movement effects are just stored in action buttons on screen 3 and set to "Toggle"

Instead of saying "Stomp Group X" say "Stomp Effect X thru Y" or use a user variable such as "Stomp $BEAMMOVES"

You would have to set the dummy fixtures react to master off in the patch

Sorry, I did not understand one thing, did you create a more DIMMER patch just to make a flip? Or I got it wrong!
The inverted dimmer is there so that I can set it up so when the fader is brought up the size gets bigger

LCBLIGTH LIGHT the only DMX Profile you need is the inverted dimmer in order to setup the remote input

Possibly an issue with the DMX profile of the dimmer? As in an check if "Snap" is active
Same problem, it would snap between 0 and 100% thousands time per second!
it does not worked for me. grandma set the fixture "form" value to Stomp in the programmer. It doesn´t fade or release.
