its bc the oled panel. regular panels require a backlight. oled panels have a light diode for each pixel and can be turned off. So it allows pixels to react individually and faster, hence the true blacks and colors. I have the asus oled 27" and it is fire as hell.
@@lukeswanson9183fps matters a lot more than resolution in some games. I am sorry, but maybe people wanna know what problems you had with that. If you talking about “regret and dont buy” so, people are waiting for facts and advices. Otherwise its empty trashtalk.
Awful monitor. Firstly, it has a purple tint when off, which bleeds into the overall color when on. That also means it doesn't reach true black, its black is more like a dark gray. Secondly, it's glossy. Only the people who buy OLED TV's or see reviewers that have OLED TV's think glossy is good for a monitor. Glossy works for TV's because you're viewing from a distance. Glossy on a monitor means the entire room reflects in the screen like a mirror, even when it's on. Anything dark on the screen will be like a mirror. Only narcissists that like to look at themselves all the time would like that, and people who only use their PC's in a dark basement would like that. For people who use want to use their PC's during the day or actually have lighting in their home at night, a screen like this is just awful. And finally, it's already proven to have poor color accuracy, to the point that it's not just about vibrancy, but also contrast. Sure it can make some colors pop, but you also lose detail in the picture itself. Compared to WOLED, QD-OLED is like if you took an IPS monitor and upped the contrast setting to make colors pop, but details started to disappear because it's oversaturated. That's the main problem with QD-OLED. Without that extra pixel for brightness, you have to make up for it by making the RGB pixels brighter, which the color filters can't handle, so you get vibrant colors, but without any detail in the gradation. It's like if you had RGB of 200,100,100, then set RGB to 240,100,100, but they looked like exactly the same color. Oh and finally, QD-OLED also sucks for use in any lighting because it doesn't have a polarizer, which means it allows lighting in a room to reflect into the panel itself, which makes the blacks even more light gray looking. It's soo bad that it almost makes black no better than IPS on low brightness, which means all you really get compared to IPS is some extra contrast and vibrancy. Basically, QD-OLED is being sold as the new big thing, except it's actually just cheaper for them to produce. They're selling the budget manufacturing as top tier when QD-OLED should be half the price of WOLED.
