in my HC, I imagined the twins being named after a show as well. But instead they're from a Sudrian kids public access show from 1943, which had religious undertones and was kind of Mr. Rogers's Neighborhood esque, teaching kids to love and care for others.
Absolutely fantastic! When you said they were based on Ertl models, I had momentarily forgot how tiny the twins were and thought you modeled N scale XD! Also love the idea of the S&M box tanks working at local industries after there closure. From a storytelling perspective, it makes it possible for the box tanks to survive into NWR days and still make sense! Of course you're timeline is different, but even sticking with Awdry's original timeline, it's a neat concept! Keep up the great work!
I found your stuff on the sodor island forums today! I read the entire 39 page thread and your websites. I wish I had an ounce of the talent you do when it come to model making and kitbashing. The amount of work you've put into making your reboot is astounding. I really look forward to whatever you do next!
Could you do a tutorial on how to make custom models RC controlled? Anyways I enjoy, your content and hope to see more from you in the future, please do more mocs! -Danny
Working on my own head cannon IOS actually took inspiration from your own workings, as well my AU of the United Kingdom which is dubbed 82M. the 82M UK is very different from the actual UK in that the LMS does not get formed in the universe of 82M instead there is a company known as the Greater Scottish Railway, the LNER & GWR are much bigger in 82M and are the main competitors for the speed runs. BTW I love your model work, do you do commission builds?
Don’t suppose you could do a several-part tutorial as you build Ben? It’s just a shame that you are pretty much the only one in the fandom who ever built a proper model of one of these two. I’m highly impressed! A question about the chassis; is it possible to fit pickups to him, or was the Radio Control the only viable way to go about it? Ta, -Studio: BRUNEL
It's funny when you say it like that but you may be right, I don't think I've ever seen a correctly-scaled version (although this one is about 3mm too tall, it's still tiny). It's my intention to film and document the 'Ben' build, just need to sort out my workspace for filming. The Pug chassis comes with pickups fitted, I just bypassed them. 4 wheeled chassis are just so rubbish for pickup!
Ha! When you put it like that, I don’t blame you for a second! It’s the whole problem with the clearances over pointwork and such, isn’t it? Oh well, I suppose I will have to do the same method as you for my own China Clay twins. P.S. I love how you made mention of the Flowerpot Men in this. It makes sense considering Judy was built to help Punch, and you undoubtedly know what that came from! The only problem with the RWS version of Bill and Ben is as they were both built in 1948, we never actually find out how they got their names, so really, I see your explanation of the names being given later on in the piece as being the most logical, even for the Awdry Canon. Again, been observing your brilliant work on SiF. Keep up the good work! -Brunel
I've always Headcanoned that Sodor had a massive railway museum, which is why there were so many one shot characters in the tv series.

@@studiobrunel7948 Thank you :D
Quick Question, what siderods did u use for your model? Or did I miss it in the vid?
The coupling rods are the Peckett ones but the connecting rods are from an Electrotren 0-6-0. Hope that helps!
@@RailwayManiaNet Yes it does! Thank you so much!
I’m assuming the “double heading/tipping and tailing” aspect will come into play of you ever make a model of Derek
Ooh which one is Derek?
@@RailwayManiaNet the paxman, the big diesel from Series 5 that had "teething troubles"
Will we ever see Ben?
Absolutely! Got to pluck up the gumption to hack into my other ERTL model ;)
This video is proof I can do dead rail with a bachmann thomas
When will you be doing Thomas?
I’ve not filmed him yet, I have one left to publish in the first batch that I filmed, then he’ll be in the next batch :)
Railway Mania ok
Did you Ben
