1. भावार्थ of main words 2. Study the fundamental principal of topic 3. Try to figure out the model of subject/ lessons 4. Remember imp facts of individual topics How to read NCERT 1st Reading - Just read as much you can from std. 6 to 12. Take one subject at a time. 2nd Reading - Try to understand chapter this time. Underline imp sentences or make notes. Read one chapter per day. Read that chapter and and read similar chapter from other books. Eg. If something is there in 6th std. There will be same chapter in 8 std. Or 11th. Understand that chapter perfectly. 3rd Reading - Read same as 1st reading. Try to figure out is there rhythm in reading. If u don't understand something or u missed something try to understand it. 4th - This time U have to correlate current news with ur reading. Eg. If u read about earthquake in newspaper then just revise earthquake from ur books or notes. In this way u will keep remembering it and u will be enthusiastic.

To make notes from NCRT books is somewhat difficult, because every line in the chapter seems important. I think framing notes is not a good job as it will consume time. It will be better for us to study the whole chapter properly, think over that topic for sometime and write roughly on a paper what you have pondered over. Thank u.
