    Thanks for this video. I shared it with my daughter at the beginning of the year. She is studying at UQ psych. She just received her results: first class honours. This video played a part in that. Thanks again!

    Great advice esp. the stalking 101 ~:-) And yes, volunteering is so useful! Postgrads/lecturers could use the extra help, and the skills one picks up is invaluable

    Wow, awesome idea for a video. I skimmed through the transcript and saving it to watch in full later. Looks very helpful!
    If you feel like it and have the time, I would love to see a video on how to cope with the emotional aspects of Hons e.g. imposter syndrome, stress, etc. I’m doing Honours this year and it’s seriously made me question my own intelligence (not in a good way) every second day, constantly feeling inferior to my classmates, etc.
    Thank you!

      Thank you so much, El! Oml yes, I would love to talk more about that as I think I really felt that way in honours. Going into masters, it has just amplified so much as well :'(

      @@yash9801 Thanks so much for the reply! Congratulations on Masters btw - that’s amazing❤️ It helps me to feel less alone when I hear that others were/are struggling with similar feelings of self doubt. I think the emotional side of Honours isn’t really discussed very often, so a video would fill that gap.

    Can you work full-time and do honours? Do you think this is possible? I do a lot of uni work at work and work nights 4-11pm? any advice helps thanks.

    Hiii! finding the tips super helpful - so thank you! not sure if you've covered this already but in the course you took for honours, what was the general time commitment week to week? asking particularly in relation to working while studying.

    • @yash9801

      Omg I’m so glad! I posted another video (my most recent one) which goes over some more :) I would work at uni during the week maybe 2 days and week and Saturday and Sunday. So I think 20-30 hours a week pretty consistently, but during October, I dropped my weekend work so I could focus on submitting that. During peak times, I would pretty much wake up at 8 start my work and finish at 5/6 because it was lockdown. I would say I did this pretty consistently and honours was definitely the hardest I have worked when compared to masters tbh. It’s because there is a pressure to attain high grades, whereas I can do my assignments last minute in masters. Don’t be scared tho, your motivation will come when you need it and as you gain momentum it becomes easier! Good luck :)

      @@yash9801 just watched it!! again, just really enjoying getting insight - well done for putting this all together! so that's not too bad, in that I expected (and have been told) that it's really difficult to manage/not recommended to work much during honours at all, which is SO unrealistic.. believe you did it full time over the course of one year too so this is a great gauge. looking forward to more content x

    • @yash9801
      @yash9801  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@samanthaboediman7341 Yeah a lot of people tell you not to work which is such a privileged thing to say and expect. Yes, i did do honours fulltime! If I was to do honour this year, I would not expect to get the same marks or be able to work as much. 1) Having an online recruitment study (set up due to covid) meant that I could do university work anywhere and did not have to commute as much 2) Being in lockdown meant that I didn't socialise and didn't feel fomo so I could spend that time working. 3) At my retail job, it was just click and collect's which meant I could do uni work and also conserve my energy with minimal customer interactions. 4) I lived at home which meant that during honours which meant that i could afford to take a month off work during thesis submission time as I didn't have a landlord asking for money. 5) I am an introvert so being alone for 2 years straight did not phase me and my mental health did not suffer as much during the lockdown. So don't hold my number to a standard or put pressure on yourself, because I had a lot of things in my corner during honours. Just do the best you can and be kind to yourself :)

    Hi Yash, Thanks so much for this video this was super helpful as I am going to be commencing my honours course soon. Do you have any research strategies that you learnt in your honours year that might be different from undegrad? Would appreciate some content on this if possible. So grateful for all this insight you're shedding on honours and congrats on your amazing achievement:)

    • @yash9801
      @yash9801  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I would not say there is a top university for psychology. However, Melbourne uni, Monash uni, Deakin, RMIT, ACU, and Latrobe are quite popular
