    As Pete Fountain said when he was asked about advice for young musicians, "play the f**king trumpet! I have spent way more than $100,00.00 dollars on reeds and I only ever got only two that were good." Pete however was good. Mr. Ridenour your system has made almost every reed I buy pretty good. Too bad that I am not.

    This sounds like a good argument for synthetic reeds, which are much, much more consistent than cane reeds.

      Not really. The point of adjusting reeds is to make them work with your own setup and artistic needs...you can't do that with plastic ones. You only can adapt to them or not
