It is worth noting that a great deal of this information is outdated (or has been retconned). - Ashamane is the name of the Druid Feline spirit, she was killed during the original Legion Invasion, the actual name wasn't introduced until Legion. Druids which follow Ashamane are known as "Ashen Druids". In addition Legion makes it clear other prominent wild spirits were indeed revered druidic deities (Agamaggan the Great Boar), Lord Renard introduced in Shadowlands, and Ohn'ahra solidified in Dragonflight though introduced in Legion. There's also no small implication that virtually all of the Troll Loa's and the August Celestials are also wild gods - Suramar was NOT the capital of Night Elven society, Zin-Azshari was. I also incorrectly attribute in the footage the capital being Vashj'ir in the shimmering expanse. -- Suramar is located on the Broken Shores and was simply a major Night Elven city which isolated itself following the Sundering -- Zin-Azshari is located in what is now Nazjatar. -- Vashj'ir was simply a major Highborne city. - The Highborne did not leave Kalimdor voluntarily. This was actually established as far back as Vanilla in the in game book "The Exile of the High Elves" which includes a story that approximately 7,000 years ago Dath'Remar Sunstrider lead a rebellion in Ashenvale that resulted in an arcane storm which did immense damage. Also given Legion my statements regarding Demon Hunters and Glaives is entirely outdated.
The night elves are my favorite race ever, one of the major reasons I play the ALLIANCE! It is very sad that they have suffered TREMENDOUSLY over the past several years though, may the children of the stars reclaim their ancient glory, forever and on.
I noticed the biggest military contributions of the Night Elves are their Siege Weapons, and to a lesser extent Sabers (more deadly than other Alliance mounts, but only Night Elves can ride them so really specialized.) They seem to use a lot of guerrilla warfare, using stealth and ambush to engage their foe.
More of these would be so awesome, I love how in depth you go! Would recommend making one about Trolls maybe? Seeing as they're one of the oldest races on azeroth and they are in some way a part of most events during the warcraft timeline.
This is cool! I didn't know about the other Druid gods. I'm happy you mentioned and reiterated that Kaldorei are NOT tree loving hippies, by and large. It's an important detail that people forget, or just don't know. Also putting stress on the matriarchal society thing A+.
The first Druid to access the Emerald Dream was Malfurion during the War of the Ancients. Those portals to the Emerald Dream were not night elf 'managed' until after the war.
I found a Night Elf RP guild on Moon Guard, but they don't do much. I'm still hoping to find a guild I can do some Nelf RP with. They're really cool to me.
I think it's great! A few points - the Highborne were more exiled by Malfurion and Tyrande 'cause of the arcane storm that they called down than they were like "we need our magics so we're gonna head out, good luck you guys," though as you said, that's a whole big other story. And I think that there are probably quite a few males around while the druids are in the Emerald Dream, though it's definitely a matriarchal society. Just, you know, there are probably a fair number of dudes who aren't druids. I'd love to get some Worgen, Dwarf, and Gnome lore if you have any to spare!
theravenandthedog Oh yeah definately and that's probably my mistake for not making that a bit clearer, that it was only the druids who were napping during those 10,000 years. the Males like Jerod Shadowsong who left and disappeared probably wasn't the only male up and doing things. Though I would suspect based on how the Night Elves act in general that the Males would have stayed more internal to the Night Elf Empire (so more in Hjyal, Darkshore and the more core Night Elf Territories) probably not seeing many on the front lines or being very social until after the 3rd war had come to pass.
im not a rper nor know anything about warcraft lore but damn night elves are pretty cool haha i have like 5 night elf druids at lvl 100 atm one of them being on moonguard so i thought i'd come research about them.. thanks for the video!
I know this is old but when blizzard retconned night elf lore to make them evolved trolls it was an insult to the elves race and there players. Also the belts having lighter purple skin isn't from walking in the sunlight that's a natural skin tone even during there time in the trees. Also this was 4 years ago they tyranda and malferion are married
Could you possibly do an updated version now that Legion has come out? I created a Night Elf Mage and would like to play it right now that the Nightborn are around.
【Crosshair Hat Finns】Thanks for the info :) I am not on a WoW Classic Era RP server since RP:er & HC:ers go not PVP on BGS:s and i only play PVP so gotta go PVP server but i get so immersed into the game :)
Illidan did not use the Skull of Gul"Dan to corrupt felwoods, the Legion was corrupting the woods and Illidan destroyed the skull absorbing the power of the skull.
Now about Shandris. strongest warrior on Azeroth? :O I mean, I'm no lore expert and I assume you know much more than I do, but I just want this confirmed. She's stronger than Varian, Bain or Vol'jin?:O or any other major warrior that lives in Azeroth? (I'm sure there are plenty)... Anyway, would love a response. Nice video!
I don't know if there's anything definitive to prove or contradict this, but I get the impression that night elf civilians are basically nonexistent, it really does seem like practically everyone in their culture is in one of the various military or spiritual castes. So that's kind of interesting. Also, I get the distinct impression that female night elf birth rates are much, much higher than males, given how utterly female-dominated most of their society seems to be. I feel like that kind of might explain why males are generally discouraged or looked down upon in martial roles, since they are needed for reproduction. ....I feel like this probably also means there are a lot of night elf lesbians. Like, a LOT.
Addendum: perhaps night elf men are considered more easily corruptible in their society, since you have major figures like Fandral and Illidan (for as true as that may or may not be, it's probably the cultural attitude at large) as well as just about the entirety of the satyr race as a testament to that.
"I feel like this probably also means there are a lot of night elf le" I don't think they're a very sexualized people at all. You shouldn't project the modern corn viewing mindset onto them.
Calvary or cavalry? Calvary is a place connected to the story of Jesus. ❤ I am sad that the only way to experience Darnasses is to level a new character.
Well there is two mistakes I can find in this? Firstly is a minor one, your pronounciation of Kalimdor is wrong, you say KalMINdor, but it is KalIMdor! Secondly! The High Elves didn't go there themselves, they were banished by the rest of the Night Elves, because of the sundering. Else, really good video!

May the stars guide you 🌌💜

(Not tryna be a 'pics or it didn't happen' dick, genuinely interested here .u.)
why did I watch this whole thing.
I found a Night Elf RP guild on Moon Guard, but they don't do much. I'm still hoping to find a guild I can do some Nelf RP with. They're really cool to me.
I can't remember the name of the one on my server (wyrmrest accord) it's is a female sentinel specific rp guild.
I finally found one too! Starbourbe Lagacy ob Emerald Dream. They are the best.

Pretty sure I just heard you say that sargeras was corrupted by the legion but he created the legion.
The night elves are the best race in all of WOW! :)
When i saw the teir 2 hunter set i was screaming about haw cool it looks when night elves wear it

Laurentiu Ionescu I think it still played a part of the corruption if i recall. Maybe, idrr.
You are my freakin' hero
Kalmindor?
I believe Zin-Azshari was the capital and Suramar is not in the sea

@@ZetaNiGHT Queen Azshara...
I really enjoyed this!
The dark trolls did become night elves. Confirmed.
I think I got motion sickness from your video. :( Enjoyed the Lore-Part, tho.

It wasn't because of the sundering. It was because of an arcane storm they caused later on.
I don't give a shit about all that gibbersih I love trees and that's that -.-
“Say-ter” not “Sateer” lol..
Eh, I think either is fine.
I think his pronunciation sounds more Nordrassillian.
