    Do you know these U shaped bricks that are used for filling up with concrete? You can use them as little huts. If it's clay bricks, they will slowly soak up water like a sponge, thus cooling itself by evaporation if you soak them for a few minutes under water until the bubbles stop. There are so many different shapes of clay bricks, so you can construct anything for them, roof and floortiles, all very cool. It can also be combined with DIY water-drippers for gardening

      Will a paper towel and a sandwich bag with ice work?

      @@BenBezyif you have a water bottle, you can fill it with water and freeze it, then wrap it in a sock!

    I was up every two hours changing their frozen bottles ..and checking them ..I've just bought a portable ac unit ..I'm not going through last week in UK again with no ac for all of us

    It is expensive but I run the AC for them as much as possible. I'd rather be broke from paying a high electricity bill then have one of my pigs pass away from the extreme heat. I know they can get hot 🔥🔥🔥 faster than me because of their hair. The only thing that bothers me is they don't like to drink water. But I give them plenty of watery veggies like cucumbers and romaine lettuce and anything else that holds water.

      A lot of people say their guinea pigs don't drink much water. But if they are having a lot food with high water content, as you say, this may be enough. It is always important to make sure they have a bottle of water though even if they don't seem to want much. Make sure it's working properly too, just in case they are not actually able to get the water from it.

    I used to work at a pet store selling these things. When I'd have one that didn't sell in less than a week I'd put it in a plastic bag then put that in a long sock and go out back where I would flail it around and hit it into the concrete wall several times. Then I would take the bag out of the sock and throw it on the roof of our strip mall. Certain there are still dozens up there today, and I still have the sock I used all those years ago. I tried other things also but this was the cleanest. The first time I did it I didn't use the plastic bag and when I hit it into the wall as hard as I could the sock looked like a bloody tea bag. So yeah put it in a bag first. Hope that helps!!

    I might be getting a guinea pig soon, one big issue tho is that I live in the UK and the houses here are built to keep the heat trapped in due to the extreme cold during the winter.
    But that means that a heatwave here is insane at home. How would I keep my Guinea Pigs cooled down in this case?

    • @GuineaPiggles
      @GuineaPiggles  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We are also in the UK - we have lots of tips in the video which will help protect your guinea pigs.. By the way, if you're getting a guinea pig, we strongly recommend having a pair rather than just one as they can get very lonely on their own :)

      @@GuineaPiggles Yes I know haha. I will definitely make sure to get 2. The annoying part is that I've watched so many videos on how to care for them yet I feel like I've learned so little.
