I'll be in Ajijic on Sunday for a while maybe I'll see you and yours. Keep living and loving and spreading kindness as you do.

To qualify for my permanente they based my income on the monthly deposits I could show into my bank. Suggest to start your residency process while still working, and adjust things so you can show the largest net deposit each month for a year before you start the residency process. Increase the number of dependents you file with IRS and reduce automatic deductions from your paycheck so your deposits are as large as possible during this year.

I want to see six months bank statements with deposits typically it's going to be a pension or Social Security not income.

Hi Jerry and Lori, thanks for the info. With everything you said in the video, plus even if paying cash closing costs are 6%-8% (per your previous response in another video), what is the benefit of buying vs renting in Ajijic? Seems like if you have enough cash to buy it might be better to keep your cash working for you and rent. What is your experience and opinion on renting vs buying? Thanks!

If you have investments let's say in a mutual fun or an ETF and it's making you more money per month than what Rick would cost to down here. You can keep that investment and take the proceeds and pay for your rent. This is what we did for over 10 years but now we have bought a home and it does give us the security that we don't have to move because the homeowner decides to sell the home. So all in all we enjoy owning our own home.

Hello, I was under the impression that only Mexican citizens could purchase Mexican property?

We have on two properties here and both of them were deeded land. Mexico is very friendly for foreigners buying property in their name.

Can you buy bare land and live on it in a mobile home part time.

    • @JerryBrownTravels

Short answer is yes there's no zoning here but you would not be able to move it in a gated community.
