This was powerful. Even if he hadn't lied on her that family was toxic and the "Mother" clearly had jealousy over a little girl, that is just sick. I was thrilled to see she now has a husband who will love & protect her without condition or hesitation to make up for her awful childhood and she got her happy ending that she deserved while that family just got more toxic among each other. Now she can save another little girl from going through what she did because she didn't focus on suffering from her trauma and instead she used it as experience to change the lives of other children in the same situation for the better.

The mom is ridiculous for calling her those names and speaking to her that way. Adopted or blood that's **NOT** cool AT ALL.
imagine if her adopted father was there then the mom will get yelled by him and the mom will get kicked out of house and son will get disowned and aunt will ended up been shaunted by rest of the family
The mom was the character I MOST hated. I think at some point she figured out the truth, maybe the son kept showing signs of sexual perversion and pedophilia and she realized it must have been him abusing her. I think that was why she left her step daughter the big inheritance, an attempt at redemption. Too bad she did not make amends while she was alive. I guess technically she did since she was alive when she wrote the will but you get what I mean.

I was accused to being gay in the 7th grade. I was too naive to stand up for myself and had miserable years in high school. The ending is truly inspiring.

15 years later I hope Matthew learned a valuable lesson and taking accountability when he lied and being creepy to Monica. Monica grew up and she’s married, Monica and her husband kicked him out to the curb and they’re making sure that Aaliyah is safe with Monica.
NOT ENOUGH. They need to get a RESTRAINING ORDER and help the girl testify against him so that he can go where he belongs PRISON. He looked pretty tough with his big muscles. I wonder how "tough" he will seem in PRISON especially if he is in there for CHILD ABUSE.

The husband came out of nowhere like he heard something like a fire 🔥 in the woods nearby.
People like them really trigger me. Her mother was wrong for believing her son over her daughter and for sending her to live with her abusive aunt. Thanks to them, she was called names while she was in college, beaten for not maintaining a family, and her niece had to be taken away. What these people did was unforgivable and now she wants nothing to do with them. I don’t blame her. Her mom never apologized and her brother had the nerve to show up after 15 years trying to get his daughter back. Sadly, people are shitty, and don’t change.
