    I just got this camera. Would you mind passing me a manual? I want to know how to operate it. There are too many buttons on it that I don't understand. I hope I can be exposed correctly on the film.Thanks for your help ❤❤

    Hey! Just got my hands on one of these, and I’ve never used a film camera before. I’m just wondering what you meant by using 16mm being split into 8mm? Should I buy 16mm or 8mm?

      You should buy one roll of regular 8 mm film. Do not buy super 8 film. The one roll of 8 mm film is really 16 mm wide when you purchase it, And only 25' long, but it will end up being 50' of 8 mm film after being processed, split and spliced by the lab.That's why you have to turn it over when you're finished filming the 1st half of the roll.

      @@minimumexpectationsdiy6013 Gotcha!! Thanks for the response. After looking on the internet some more, I discovered what Double 8 film is. Is this what you are using? Or just standard 8mm?

      @@whotfisBriX For a regular 8mm camera (not super 8 and not single 8) I use double 8mm film. As I mentioned, the double 8 is 16mm wide. Film one side, flip it over, and film the other side. Then send it to the lab for processing. You'll probably want reversal film as opposed to negative film.
      Try the Film Photography Project. Lots of info, and you can buy film and processing from them.

      @@minimumexpectationsdiy6013 awesome! One last question - would 33ft work? I saw a video that one of the people from that company made, and he used a 33ft - I’m in Canada, so there’s another website that sells the exact same 33ft roll as the video for cheaper than having to pay duties and shipping. Would this work?

      @@whotfisBriX I don't know about 33 feet, but the Nizo camera uses a 25-foot roll which is split and made into 50 feet.

    I just got this camera! I don't suppose you would be able to share photos of the manual at all?

      I'll look for the manual and see about scanning it for you. When done, I'll try to attach the images to an email or to a message on this site.

      I have scanned the manual's pages into one file, but can't find a way to send it to you. Send me your email address and I'll send the file to you.

      Congratulations for this amazing video. This helped me a lot to load the film in this camera. I was using another technique but yours is definitely much better.
      Would you mind to share the manual? Can I send you my email address in a message?

    So is this technically a 16mm camera...? Like, can you not set it up to be split into two 8mm reels, and just let it be 16mm?

    • @minimumexpectationsdiy6013
      @minimumexpectationsdiy6013  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, it is an 8mm camera that uses regular 8mm film (not super 8 or single 8). It just so happens that regular 8 is really a reel of 16mm film that's 25 feet long. You film on each half, giving you two side-by-side 8mm images. Then the lab processes it and splits in down the middle and splices it end to end. This is the way all regular 8mm camera operate.
      Converting an 8mm camera to 16mm would be a very difficult project-not worth trying in my opinion. It would require a new drive system and different lenses. Used 16mm cameras are available on eBay.
      Some of my other videos describe this process.
