When I heard her for the first time, two or three years ago, I thought "Wooooow, I am sooooo big fan of Billie Holiday, have dozens of her albums, +100 songs, and never heard, or knew that she has this cover!" It took me more than 10 minutes to understand that Billie died in 1959, long before Cohen wrote this masterpiece. Then, I realized this is not Billie Holiday. But, Madeline is sooooooo gooooooood! LOOOOOVE HER! LOOOOOOOOOVE HER STYLE ! ! ! ❤🇲🇰
It's stuff like this that people who are considering packing it in when they've had too much realize that life offers so much more than the eternal silence of death. Art lifts us up and sends us forward into the maelstrom with new energy. Beautiful!!!
