when are you next down id like to show you a place that im confident you will find some gold for your videos. i remember my first years and how much effort i put in also how exciting my first finds were . i will never forget how secretive locals where and how much they didn't appreciate what a small find would mean to me, traveling from surrey makes your trip limited and a big effort so finding something makes it exciting.
Thanks very much for the offer. It won't be till next year now, but I usually go to Totnes a couple of times a year. I'll let you know when I've made plans. Email me (on my 'about' page here) and I'll keep your contact details. Cheers, Nick.
Good luck! I always say if I find gold, this channel will be the first to know, and if I find gold in Surrey it will be on the news!! Local streams are good for practising though.
Thanks Chevsy! I was thinking the same. I'm not certain, but all those stones in one place did look just like an old dump pile. Maybe for gold, maybe for tin, or perhaps just the farmer giving the cows a place to cross the river!! :o)
@@surreygoldprospector576 could well be any of those, or possibility of previous prospector/s damming the river placing the bigger stones to run sluices off of during higher waters? Maybe :)
Yes, that's true. I saw this kind of thing a lot in Cornwall with the old tin streaming works from the 1800s. I think I need to either avoid these areas, or somehow use them to my advantage! Behind the dam might be a good place, but it is usually quite deep and muddy.
Shame, I really liked your home made pan (was it a ready-meal tray), didnt find the garret kit I have got so good, best was a large plastic round plant pot tray (60cm) that had been scuffed and textured a bit for better gold catching and I could fill with a massive amount of material (like 10kg) rocks and soil and really got results.
Well done for innovating! I never really proved mine doesn't work, but for now the Garrett processes about twice as much dirt in the same time. When/if I find gold I might do another head-to-head just to see.
Like the new pans nice looking water 👏👍
Thanks mate! :o)
Great job all around fam. Keep at it. Gold Squad Out!!!
Thanks!
Hi Jason. I hope everything is fine with you
Gold prospecting is a long road to success. Don't give up mate !
Thanks! It would be good to get some gold, but I enjoy being out at the rivers and seeing what I find along the way as well. :o)
Keep at it💪 dig right under the biggest rock you meet👍
Thanks for the tip SG. Gold prospectors are the toughest people - lifting weights in the river! :o)

Im from surrey too, always wanted to go sifting for gold in the shallow stream nearby

Plenty of good looking rocks! Maybe invest in a small pointed spade to get a bit deeper through the overburden. Best of luck!

If you can't swim in it, it's not a hole. Nice video buddy
Thanks mate! :o)
No point in the UK. Everything you find belongs to the KING by law!
True. But, of course I would throw it back if I found any. :o)
