@@MrDmacc1 A copy of your appraisal license will want to be submitted with form RE 227 as well as any other documents that can assist with substantiating your two years of fulltime real estate experience in the last five years. Feel free to email us at ncinfo@accreditedschools.com and we will be happy to try and answer any questions!
thank you so much for the video. I have 2 questions: 1. If I want to do the combined application, when do i need to submit my finger print? 2. I am currently work at the Air Force as a reserve Chaplain, do I get the expedited processing too? Appreciate your reply.
Thank you for contacting us! You will need to do your fingerprints (RE 237) prior to submitting the combined application of RE 435. Also, only honorably discharged veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces are eligible for expedited processing. • In order to obtain expedited processing, you would need to submit a copy of your U.S. DD Form 214, NGB-22 form, or Honorable Discharge certificate to confirm your condition of discharge, along with the application, supporting qualification documents, and fee. • If you do not have one of those forms and send it to the PO Box, applications received to this P.O. Box from nonhonorably discharged veterans will be processed in received date order. I hope this helps!
This video is helpful. Don't understand why they can't break it down more simply on the dre website and I have to resort to watching a youtube video to find out.
Okay so if I did the combination application and I fail the exam since I already paid the $305 in total that means that the next time I apply I only have to pay another $60 because they will hold the $245 license fee for 2 year from when I applied. The only reoccurring cost to retake a new exam within those 2 years is the $60 correct?
Correct! You would just need to pay the $60 to retake the state exam. Once you pass the state exam within that two year period, you will receive your license!
@@accreditedschools thank you! You should make videos of filling out the applications and mailing process so we can do it with you and make sure we dont miss or forget anything kinda like a follow along....just an idea (:
We would love to be able to do something like that because a lot of students ask, but the DRE does not want people instructing “filling out the forms” because we aren’t the applicant or DRE. Thus, we try to give detailed instructions of the process but not about the actual application completion! Once you have the form numbers and know the process though, it becomes a lot easier to apply. Getting to that point though can be confusing, so that’s why we created this video. :)
Hello. Quick questions: If you go the combination route when applying, for whatever reason do not pass the exam, does the money you pay for licensing disappear? You said just about every time you send money to the DRE its non-refundable. Does that money stay in the system until you do pass?
Thank you for checking with us! The license fees are non-refundable but the the DRE holds it for the two years from approval of your license application. Thus, if you fail the state exam, you can pay to retake the state exam and once you do pass the state exam within that two year period, they will issue your license! If you decide to not proceed or can't pass the state exam, the license portion is non-refundable. I hope that helps!

You can get your real estate license as NBA (no broker affiliation), but cannot practice until you place it under a broker. Thus, you are able to take your time finding one that you feel is a good fit!
The CA DRE requires paper applications so you will have to mail, hand-deliver, or (they may allow) fax. They don’t have it as an online application at this time. Hopefully they will have it as an option sometime in the near future!
@@Austin_SOLDanoRealEstate We have never received solid confirmation that they accept applications via fax, but I have heard students submitting via fax. The DRE fax number is (916) 263-8943 for Sacramento HQ and Licensing.
Which documents are required along with the RE227 form for licensed appraisers? You mentioned proof will a copy of an appraisal license satisfy the this requirement?
You will want to send in a copy of your appraisal license! You could also send in your resume, certifications, etc. as the DRE also states "Care in preparing the claim of qualification and presentation of adequate supporting letters, resumes, or certifications will facilitate qualifying an application... Be accurate as to dates, etc., as incompleteness or inaccuracies will result in delays and additional correspondence."

I have a question My driving license is from Georgia I moved to California in 2020 stayed one year in rental and in June 2021 bought house I have US passport Am I good to apply for application?

Hello! I have a question, I am not a US citizen and I am a non resident. The 435 format requests my social security number, what if I don't have one? Is 435 format for nonresidents ?
The DRE requires you to be a US taxpayer if not a US citizen to get a real estate license in CA. Thus, you would put your taxpayer identification number for the social security section!
i paid my application fee on march 1st. its now may 1st the time frame for apps is as of may 1st processing march 6th. still havent received anything. am i missing something ? im getting really anxious please help

And or see what days and times are available or me to see so when I’m ready to take the test I know what date to take my test? Thank you
The license for salesperson is $245 and broker is $300. The state exam fee is $60 and $95, respectively. Once approved with the DRE, you can schedule your state exam with eLicensing. You can also look at available dates here: secure.dre.ca.gov/PublicASP/CurrentExams.asp
I just passed my exam and I am filling out the license application, a form I printed out wants me to give my credit card info, and I'd rather write a check. Can I forgo this step of giving card info? And also with the finger prints, when I go to a location they'll know what I need done? Sorry for the questions I just don't want to mess this up.
Congratulations! I apologize for the late reply, but you can send a check made out to the Department of Real Estate. When you do your fingerprinting though, make sure to bring form RE 237!
Hi thank you much for the info. I just saw that the DRE has cashed my check how will i be notified if i got approved and ready to schedule my examination. Will I receive a letter through the mail or will I get an email ?
You know the DRE has received your application and put it in line for processing once they have cashed your check or ran your card. Now it is just the waiting game to hear about approval. The DRE will email you if you are approved, but if they need further information from you then they will send you a letter in the mail. Keep track of the date they cashed your check because that will help you with understanding their current processing timeframes. You will want to keep checking it and it can be found here: dre.ca.gov/Licensees/CurrentTimeframes.html
Hi, there's also an online application that allows us to include all the information in this video. Is that a viable option? Also, I realized that on my certificates, LiveScan, and application I am missing my middle initial while my driver's licence has the initial. Is this going to hinder me in any way when I go to take my exam?
So will the DRE send a License application right after I pass my state exam ?? Or do I need to go to the Dre website and print out the license application myself after I pass the state exam and send it to them??
If you originally submitted the examination application of RE 400A, the DRE will provide you the license application after you pass the state exam. They will usually mail it to you. However, if you'd like to get a head start, you can complete RE 435 and select "License" instead of "Combination" and submit it to the DRE with your fingerprints and remaining fees. I hope that helps!
For the Broker Application with education, does DRE allow for 4+2 years real estate degree? I did a 4 year in Civil Engineering and 2 year in Real Estate?
Also, does the experience count if I worked in engineering field where I was tasked to do real estate/design proposals? Can we send both education + experience?
Great question! The degree has to be a major or minor in real estate. Thus, your bachelor's would need to show the real estate degree rather than an associate degree. I hope that helps!
It would depend on the type of real estate experience you were specifically doing, so I would take a look at this form: www.dre.ca.gov/files/pdf/forms/re227.pdf. The DRE will take the real estate degree or experience to fulfill this requirement. :)
Great question! The state exam is not offered online. The DRE only offers the state exam at one of their five locations and I don't foresee that changing anytime soon. Face coverings are required during the examination.
Hi Brandon, it is too late to switch to the combination application at this point since you've already been approved by the DRE to take the state exam. However, I recommend getting your live scan fingerprinting done (Form RE 237) and completing form RE 435 by selecting "L" for the license portion. Thus, when you do pass the state exam, you can submit the license application right away and get your license sooner. They are about 2.5 weeks out in processing license applications!
It looks like the DRE is two weeks in processing the original license applications. Thus, you should've already gotten processed if you sent it in five weeks ago and they had all the documentation. Here are the current processing time frames: dre.ca.gov/Licensees/CurrentTimeframes.html. I would make sure they cashed your check or charged your card then contact the DRE.
I'm not sure about whether that specific item on the application will delay your application. They will be able to look you up based on your social security number to see if you have had a license previously, but they may want you to attest Yes/No. Your best bet would be to call the DRE to verify!
