It might not be much, but it's at least something that happens for you failing. This game? Uh uh, you don't win or lose anything playing it. As Maverick said you don't even have to make any inputs during Crash Boom Bang's gameplay other than story cutscenes to move on in the story.

But you want to know what the WORST thing about it is?
This game was developed by Dimps. You know, the SAME Dimps behind DS Games like the Sonic Advance and Rush Series, and well as Sonic Colors? Street Fighters 4 AND 5? The Dragon Ball Series? Kirby and the Amazing Mirror? HOW is this the SAME Company that did those games well, yet FUCKED up the Crash Series so GODDAMN BADLY? HOW?!
Well, I decided to check and Sonic Advance ad Rush series ALSO had Sonic Team developing it. At the same time, you can look up the developer teams behind each game, I'm certain that the team behinds Sonic Advance/Rush/Colors on DS is different from the ones in the Dragon Ball series as well as Crash Boom Bang.
May be the same company, but not necessarily the same team.
Metal Gear Survive also fits the criteria you gave. It feels more like a game that was made out of spite for Hideo Kojima. A direct death sentence from a resentful and angry Konami. Essentially their way of saying "If I can't have the franchise, then no one can!" And proceeded to kill it in action. On top of trying to outdo EA in terms of sleazy microtransactions. Who the hell charges players for extra save files?! This is extortion! And the worst part is that I feel bad for the people who were forced to work on this game. They didn't want to ruin a beloved franchise, but the higher-ups say otherwise, so the devs really didn't have a choice. Is it any wonder why they hid easter eggs in the game that outright mock Konami?

It's no wonder that my brain blocked most of my memories of this game. Also, Luigi has competition for the 'winning by doing absolutely nothing' phenomenon. Time to see if it's possible for Cortex to win by doing absolutely nothing in Crash Bash xD
I don't think it's possible in bash, many of the mini-games require player input to score, making them impossible to win by doing nothing. Bumper ball, polarbear maybe, but the pogo stages would be impossible, aswell as every boss.
@@DeadlockDrago Very true; it's still worth a shot in the bumper balls, polar bear fighting, and maybe even tanks if the AI decides to be stupid and suicide into each other

I once bought Crash boom bang for $17, played it once and then never touched it again. Years later, I traded it into a game trading store for $7. I used that $7 to buy food, which was MUCH more satisfying to eat than this game was to play.
I'd like to give viscount a little credit. In that world, when you want someone to find power crystals, especially exploring dangerous, ruin like areas that could be filled with dangerous traps, why would you NOT call on crash? he's done that like 5 times by that point right?
Not to mention dumb enough to not question it like in the second game.

So something like Crash Bash but with more mini games, boardlike mechanics, a more engaging yet silly plot, and characters from the games.

As a kid years ago, I used to really love this game. I don’t know why. It’s been years since I played it and last time I did, I still enjoyed the game. It wasn’t until after I sold it that I heard negative criticism towards the game. If I were to play it again, I would probably hate it but for giving me something to play on and enjoying it, it’s a nostalgic guilty pleasure for me. I don’t know if anyone else feels the same way

This is the most in-depth review of this game I have ever seen... ABOUT FUCKING TIME!
Just about every other review barely even scratches the surface when it comes to this game. They just boil it down to "terrible Mario Party clone" and leave it at that.
You actually went through all the effort to mention every single aspect this game has to offer and explained why it is so bad.
Doesn't stop this game from being a guilty pleasure for me; I just get dumb fun out of it...
There was just one thing you didn't mention... and I don't mean the Motion Panel aspect from another comment I left.
Did you know that there are certain mini-games you can play ONLY under specific conditions? Some can only be played as Battle Royale, some can only be played by landing on a normal Battle Space, and some can only be played by landing on the same space as another player... And it also depends on the map.
So if you want to play/unlock every mini-game (but why would you?) it's even MORE tedious!
You kind of make me want to get it just to look at it laugh, choke and cry.

I found a way to help with mic minigames. If you put your finger on the mic and then slightly move your finger while keeping it on there, it'll respond in game as if you're blowing into it. This is because for mic minigames, they're actually responding to the feedback it recieves rather than the amount of air you blow in. I did this as a test with some mic minigames in Mario Party DS(I had my suspiscions) and found that my theory was right.
Also, how funny would it be if there was a surprise update for Nitro-Fueled where Viscount is brought in with a new 3D design, a complete voice, and a haughty attitude that fits perfectly. I do have this thought that he and Wally Wumpa(that wumpa fruit dude from Tag Team Racing?) would despise each other. And that a possible trailer for their surprise reveal would end with Wally throwing rotten wumpa at Viscount, who simply wipes it off his face with a glare that reads "I'm supposed to be poise, but for your ass kicking, I'll gladly make an exception" before lunging at Wally and the two tussle like Cortex and Crash did in Twinsanity. With Cortex calling them out for being ridiculous and asking Crash if they themselves would ever stoop to that level, with Crash nodding as a response.
Sorry, that idea of Viscount joining Nitro-Fueled has been living in my head rent free, I needed to spill it, sorry for the overly long comment, your vids are awesome and they inspire me so fucking much creatively kskskskskksksksksks have an awesome [INSERT TIME OF DAY HERE] k BYEEEEE!!!!!!

Boom Bang! isn't the only Japanese developed Crash game. The god awful DS port of Mind over Mutant was also developed by a Japanese company, ironic as it never left American & PAL regions. It was also quite the downgrade from the underrated gem that was Titans DS.
Funny enough the main console versions of Crash: Mind Over Mutant actually proves you can do anime-esque designs for the Crash Bandicoot characters and have them be good.
Reminds me of how Mega Man on the Game Gear was published by US Gold (European company) Yet was only released in North America.

Yeah, Crash Boom Bang has always been the game that has no love or passion in it and sadly I did played that too and now I don't have it anymore.

I never did enjoy Boom Bang, since it was, as you said, a real slog to play through; the only good things to it, to me, was that Crunch was using his initial design, instead of the CTTR one, and the costumes. Still not a good game, though. Thank you for going in-depth on it, though, this was an interesting watch! owo

Boom Bang is basically Mario Party but with the gimmick of everyone moving at the same time from the only board in Mario Party: The Top 100 fused with the mediocrity of Sonic Shuffle
So what's next? Twinsanity? Enter the Dragonfly? Titans and Mind Over Mutant? The Legend of Spyro Trilogy?
I actually liked the Titans games, and Twinsanity. And Mind over Mutant proved yes you can have anime-esque designs for the Crash Bandicoot cast of characters and actually have them be good.
Is it just me, or did the Crash series look like a Nickelodeon cartoon series during the post-Naughty Dog pre-N. Sane era? Nitro Kart and Tag Team Racing are good examples of this.

Nuts and Bolts never came out for the Wii. It was an XBox 360 exclusive, due to Banjo-Kazooie developer Rare having been bought out by Microsoft, the creator of XBox, at this point. The game's failure led Rare to making Kinect games for a time, then they went ahead and made Sea of Thieves and are apparently in charge of creating a new Battletoads game.
If this is the Racing with Ryan review you have my deepest sympathies I played this game and I deeply regret it.
Crash Boom Bang makes any of the ND Cube Mario Party games look like masterpieces. And this is coming from someone who liked Star Rush, by the way!

My first games on DS were Wario: Master of Disguise (even though it didn't aged well, but I liked bosses themes in this game, as well as Allergia Gardens), WarioWare Touched and Mario Kart DS
I only managed to complete the game once because any other time I've tried to play it, I couldn't get past the volcano level. Of course, in this game that means that not even the ai managed to complete the volcano level.

To this day, I still don't understand why the internet has such a huge hatred of Mario Party Advance. I loved that game growing up. Sure, there was one event that you had to be an extreme button masher to have any hope of getting through that I didn't beat until I used a thing from an old board game my parents gave me years back to get through it, but aside from that one moment, I enjoyed like every second of my time with it! I have no clue why the game gets bashed even in videos I didn't expect to be mentioning Mario Party in general, but that game is way better than a lot of the franchise that happened after 4, where the single player is complete garbage.

Thinking about it, I think it’s possible that the Nintendo DS could handle ports/remakes of the original PS1 games along with the Spyro trilogy. I’m a bit surprised that game devs didn’t try to ride on Super Mario 64 DS by porting/remaking PS1/Saturn games to the DS.
I think they didn't do that because of the backlash Mario 64 DS got from the Mario fanbase in terms of the controls.
GatorRay4life yeah but the original Crash Trilogy was made with a D-Pad in mind. Plus the internet wasn’t as big, it’s likely they would’ve only noticed any backlash towards the controls via reviews
It definitely was able to handle the original Resident Evil, "Jill Sandwich"-tier voice acting and all.
Sony has the rights for publishing and distribution of the OG Crash trilogy, OG Spyro trilogy and the OG CTR and after buying Naughty Dog in 2001 and Insomaniac Games in 2019 they also have the rights for the source code of those games and because of that Crash and Spyro games made by ND and IG can't be ported to non-Sony platform/s.
Dawid Ciszewski maybe I should’ve meant remake instead. Considering that the NSane trilogy and Reignited Trilogy were made from the ground up and were able to get ports to other systems.

Here's a fun fact I have a fun fact for this game, the Japanese version of the game is the only time Crash's Japanese design appears in game and was changed to resemble his Twinsanity design worldwide.

I may be the one and only person in the world who actually likes Pura's design in this game (He's always been my favourite Crash character)
I did play this game exactly one time when I was younger, and I never remembered it being that bad... but then again, nothing about it was memorable to me (except for Pura), so I guess that shows how worthless it really is...
