Great breakdown! I would've liked to hear more about why mostly location-independent companies choose to gather in expensive urban areas for network & agglomeration effects. Also, I'd love to hear your experience & opinion on working as a PM instead of a SWE: do you do any coding as a PM? Do you have any interest in working as an individual-contributor engineer in the future?
Hey Mikie. I found your video by searching "work in Silicon Valley". Funny you worked in Seattle but I watched the whole video. Thanks for sharing your perspective that, living in a tech hub isn't a necessity anymore, if you don't have to commute to the office. I would really love to hear your thoughts on this again, for example in summer next year. Congrats that you could change your scenery from SD to SEA. Hope that you have been enjoying the weather there
Ya its a good question. It'll be pretty tricky because different countries have different labor and tax laws, combined with currency differences. So I think it will really depend on the specific company if it can accommodate that.
Super interesting and relevant. I second the day in your life at the seattle job video.
Thanks! I’ll def make that video once I start working

Thanks so much! I start work in little over a week so I’ll probably get back to your questions in a future video once I start!
