I can imagine the consolidation will work similarly to how the former costa ships operate in the fleet. They operate as a “fun Italian style” and I can imagine we will get the Australian style down under. I can also assume we will get the livery & the 3 color funnel, but the whale tail might be something that never comes or comes in a dry dock down the road
sad to see P&O Australia go. I think this is obviously a cost cutting measure and they will bill the existing 2 ships coming over to Carnival as "the Australian experience" version of Carnival until those ships retire and then we'll be seeing all the usual gaudy oldest Carnival ships summering over here and maybe have 1 or 2 of their ships homeport here year round. Not to mention the current ships will be put under a flag of convenience like the rest of the fleet so they can take advantage of poor labour conditions for their staff - cost cutting
I’ve done the legend and the splendor Loved the legend as it had real cappuccino machines on board and catered for Australians tastes. I went on splendor last year before the 2024 refurb. I hated it. You can tell the layout was for Costa. It was horrible. We went through 5 sets of storms and they didn’t close the roof. I expected them to do it as it would have been much more enjoyable. I can’t wait for the new ships. I’m hoping they do a decent dry dock refurb. Hopefully Carnival use the P&O ships that offer much more activities then the splendour did.

Great video as always Jed. Great to hear there wont be many changes to the ships themselves, but agreed it just seems confusing.
So confusing! Can't wait to get onboard and check it all out next year.
Even though the carnival version of the ship is not out yet, I am planning to go on the ship

Carnival shops are very gawdy - Las Vegas dive bar trashy. I have no desire to sail on any of those ships.
Great information! New sub here!
Thanks for stopping by goodship! :)
