Oh, please. It goes both ways. If hot dogging and grandstanding is the norm now (which I'm fine with), there are going to be receipts. "Disrespecting the game"? What does that even mean in a world where hot dogging and jiving and wearing clown costumes in the dugout after you homer is all acceptable? Baseball is a business. Not a sacred pageant or a religion.
Hurting someone's feelings or showing someone up in a direct way (as opposed to an indirect way with a clown costume) is not the sin you want to make it out to be.
I personally find it more 'disrespectful' as a fan when competitors are overly nice to each other and all fist bumping each other before "big" games. It tells me that winning is not all that important to them and that my investment (financial and emotional) in their success is frivolous. For what it's worth, you know someone like Neris cares about winning and losing at least as much as the fans buying into the product.
It's not like he threw a shattered bat near someone the way Clemens did in the 2000 World Series (and I think too much was even made of that). He trash talked Rodriguez. Big deal. Do you have any idea how much trash Jordan and Magic and Bird threw at each other and others in their day? And basketball back then was all the better for it. Hardly "disrespecting" the game. It MADE the game!

@@Icecreamforcrowtoo Celebrating and getting in someone's face are two very different things. I for one really appreciate the changes in the game where celebrating has become accepted. The losing end stings a little harder and believe me I know the feeling well. This was different and I stand by what I said. It was not sporting behavior, and it soured the game. It was disrespectul to Julio, both teams, the fans, and the game itself. But I'd be lying if I said there wasn't a part of me that thought Julio had it coming for having such a stinky September. You never know what might happen at a baseball game, which is why you drag your @ss down to the stadium, pay exhorbitant amounts of money and cheer for your team. There's seriously nothing to cheer about here it's a spirit of the game problem, and if you think this is ok I hope you never coach kids

In some countries, "coño" means "pussy;" but in other countries (and Dominican Republic. . . and almost every other Caribbean) "coño" is used the same way as you use "fuck." When we admire something, we may say "coño" as a interjection, if we hit our little toe with a door, we will DEFINITELY say "coño." If we get angry, we, many times, say: "COÑO!" In other words, is a very versatile word to express our feelings.
