New student of yours! :) You said Fresco is better than Procreate... Now to learn Fresco... I need help though. lol But I signed up for all your classes in skillshare and have watched about like 10 youtube videos! You are awesome! Glad I found you!
Great video as always Chris! Been binge watching and feel so much improvement with your information. Your style and delivery are perfect for me and I really appreciate the work you put into this. Riso layers are stumping me no matter how many times I watch your video but I am not giving up! Keep up the great work!
Thank you! I appreciate that!! The riso things can be a bit confusing. They do have a smart PSD kit that has actions to do it for you which is pretty cool. (With a little less control)
i found a need like in other tutorials, and is that it would be helpful the click arrow to be visible so we can see the movements and clicks your are doing precisely. as sometimes i get lost and have to go backwards many times to make sure where u are cliking at. hope many "youtuber digital teachers" read this so can follow it haha! thank u so much for your videos! ive got u as my fresco mentor now ;)
Thanks Chris! I've searched and searched - even IA - and can't find an answer. Is it possible to select a layer without selecting it via the layer thumbnail? In Photoshop, I can tap on a layer in the canvas and select it. I haven't found a way in Fresco to do that. I'm working with 9 million identical circles - each on its own layer - and want to just tap one to select it. No beans. What say you?
What is the difference between clipping mask and locking the transparency? They seem like they do the same but 1 is just for pixel layers. Thanks ahead of time
A clipping mask is non-destructive meaning that what you do on the mask can be turned off without effecting the original art. Locking the transparency changes the image itself.
Is there a way to change brush size more quickly, where I can resize without having to open the brush menu and clicking on size button before I can adjust?
I needed this video. Idk when. Probably a long time ago. I procrastinate. Thought about how I might make that last sentence into a ProCreate pun. Fell short. Maybe next time. K bye.
Thanks so much! I have used Procreate Dreams a bit, it’s very cool, although for most motion stuff I still find myself using Fresco. That’s mainly because the stuff I typically do is more about adding movement to an illustration rather than full on animation, like a short or something.
The layer names not being visible in the layer panel is so dumb (I know you can see them if you open the properties) Makes working in fresco kind of a pain sometimes. Every other adobe program (and procreate) you can see the layer names. But in fresco if you have a bunch of layers it’s a mess cause you have to click through like ten layers properties to find the layer you’re looking for. Maybe Adobe would listen to you if you told them to make the freaking layer names visible
Who knew that The Little Mermaid was essentialy created as a method of understanding Pixel vs Vector layers? What other universal truths are waiting to be discovered in Disney movies?
So jam packed with layers of gold nuggets
Glad you think so!😊
This is the most comprehensive Adobe Fresco video I've found to date. Thanks for taking the time to be so thorough. Good stuff!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks!
Decided after years of not drawing I wanted to learn how to on my tablet and your videos are a God send keep up the amazing work!
Thank you so much 😀
Pics or it didn't happen.
Fresco just became free as part of my Photoshop sub. So I'm trying to learn about this app. Thanks for this useful tutorial.
So informative! The Little Mermaid clips were spot on 😂
So glad to hear! And glad you like the clips, lol.

great video! this makes me hopeful about focusing on fresco.
Glad you liked it!
Nioce. Very helpful. My top tip is holding the Touch Short cut and double tap the layer to quickly turn visibility on and off. Great video Chris!!
Oh that’s a good one! Thanks for sharing.
Priceless info, thanks, Chris!
Glad it was helpful!
Brilliant - thank you
Glad it was helpful!

Not that I know of… there maybe some way to make a custom command, but I don’t know about that.
AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME! Thank you!
Glad you liked it!
It’s SO much 😭 I need some videos where we work on a piece together to learn 😢

Haha I’m here for it when you remember!
Am doing a portrait, but for some reason I can’t find where to dim down the picture to copy it
In the layer menu you’ll see an opacity slider.
Bookmarking the hell out of this one.
🤝😊
I'm jazzed there's people like you making Fresco content. Have you messed with Procreate Dreams much?
Thanks so much! I have used Procreate Dreams a bit, it’s very cool, although for most motion stuff I still find myself using Fresco. That’s mainly because the stuff I typically do is more about adding movement to an illustration rather than full on animation, like a short or something.
I just wish there’s a private layer like Procreate has!
I only use Adobe fresco 💯
👍

I do agree that would be nice. Anyone can suggest features within the app. Maybe we should all do it.
