It’s because the person who casted for the show didn’t even watch it or read the manga. I saw her interview and she was just talking some bs like “Mitsuba seems like the type of guy to have this voice.”

I haven't watched the anime but it seems to me like the casting made no sense but the voice actors still did a great job and from watching these clips most of this is actually more funny than I found the manga to be (the manga is still my favorite though)

Like bruh I see the same complaint about a character sounding like they're in their 40s when the voice actors are literally around their 30s-40s what do y'all even expect?
I just relised this today Why do I only see hanako, yashiro and the blonde guy with the staff(sorry forgot his name) in the girls bathroom and I do not see anyone else
I haven't reread tbhk in a couple of minutes, so apologies if I'm not completely accurate: The bathroom Hanako is from is a part of the old school building of Kamome academy that was simply expanded with newer architecture instead of destroyed and rebuilt fully new. Because of this, not too many people go into the old school bathrooms or the old building in general, preferring the main, newer building area (and who knows if the old school bathrooms are even functional anymore cus we dont see characters actually using the bathroom in it). So, it's easy to not have other people in the old bathrooms when no one else would really want to go in them Of course the reasoning could also just be for plot convenience. It would be awkward to write a cool bathroom hangout spot with a bunch of people coming in randomly
