I am a Bhopali. I did made a short 7 minutes film with my college mates under a project. We went to the place which has leftovers for this union carbide factory. The place had some kind of very negative vibe which I am unable to describe. And there were street dogs in there, wailing... very very dreadful place but it is still the part of Bhopal's history.
Glad Kay Kay Menon was chosen for this part. I also liked Bhopal express and they did show him stop a train to save lives! So so happy to see him get the part
My father; after finishing work, left Bhopal on the evening of Dec 2nd - to meet my grandparents for a night. His rented place at the time, lied within a couple of KMs from the Union Carbide Factory. After a week or so, when he came back(obviously well aware of the horrors) he found out that half of his neighbours were gone. Some of them lost their lives in the commotion and most in their sleep.

Almost a decade because people with disabilities caused by this disaster were suffering in huge numbers and queues outside government hospitals. Fortunately, my father was at the right place at the right time and that is the tone he uses while narrating these stories every few years - grateful to be living in this beautiful city safe and well alive.
I just finished watching it. It was incredible and it would definitely give you chills and make you cry. The horrors that happened is unimaginable. Thanks to all the actors and the entire team. They successfully delivered it.

Just for info, union carbide plant was situated to the left side of railway line that goes from bhopal to ujjain. As an engineering student studing in bhopal from ujjain, i had seen union carbide plant every week. It looked like dead monster. My friends from bhopal used to tell the horror of that night and how they tried to flee bhopal thru trains in wee hours but were unable to board any train die to chaos, rush, panic. Air and water(chooti jheel) had contaminated and that caused health issues for many years after actual tragedy. Compensation was a joke TBH.
One of my maternal uncle got affected by this ge was bright engineering students studying in nit bhopal at that time and got paralyzed , still today he is not completely fit and there were no supports also from govt , he lwft his engg in 3rd year due to this and later now he us a very good teacher teaching iit aspirants 😢but thinking of his sufferings even his voice git stammered he could not speak properly for 10 years when i was a child i saw how he suffered . Now he is lil bit okay standing on his feet after 29 years of incident

I believe this is going to be a great series.But I think it's wrong to characterize the 1984 Anti-Sikh violence as a Hindu-Sikh riot because it was perpetrated by the workers of Congress party in retaliation of Indira Gandhi 's killing. I don't think it had any hindu emotions rallying it.
Watched it on the release day. Goosebumps all around. KK Menon is arguably one of the best active actors India has. That's for sure. Divyendu was a surprise. Standing out when most of the screen time was with KK Menon itself is an achievement. Hits all parks. hits where it hurts the most.
