  • In the following sequence, we will simulate the operation of The Best Control Pump System by Pearl Water Systems.
    For the purpose of this test, we will imagine that the suction line is coming from a lake, a pond, or lifting from a well or a tank.
    0:13 When not to use an Automatic Pump Control System?
    It is important to note that this type of system will not work properly in boosting applications, so it is not recommended to connect it to city pressure or a well pump. You can also see the shower, simulating the outlet or an irrigation zone. The pressure gauge will display the pressure in the system during the test.
    0:28 How to assemble an Automatic Pump Control System?
    At this time, the pump is connected to the pipe, and we are ready to start the test. Connect the controller into a power supply, and the pump will receive a command from the controller to start working.
    0:44 What happens to the Pump Control System when there is no water demand?
    When there is no water demand since the shower is not open, the pump will boost the pressure, and after ten seconds with no flow, the controller will stop the pump. The whole system will go on standby, and the pressure at this point will be equivalent to the maximum pressure the pump can generate, also known as the shutoff of the pump. In this specific case, the maximum pressure is 70 PSI, and the pressure will remain at this point until someone turns on an outlet.
    1:13 What happens to the water pressure when the water demand is increasing?
    When the outlet opens, the pump will start working and the pressure in the system will be equivalent to the maximum pressure that the pump can make at the demanded flow. In this case, the shower demand is seven gallons, and the pump will boost sixty-five PSI. If a second shower is opened, the water demand will be higher and the pressure will drop to sixty. If a third shower is opened, the demand will be higher, and the pressure will drop to fifty-five PSI. The pump will continue to operate as long as the showers remain open. If a shower is shut off, the pressure will increase as the water demand is now lower. If another shower is shut off, the pressure will increase again, and if the last shower is closed, after ten seconds without flow, the system will enter standby mode. The pressure in the system will remain at the shutoff pressure until there is flow demand again.
    2:03 What are the advantages of using an Automatic Pump Control System?
    One of the biggest advantages of these systems is the capacity to protect the pump during a dry-run situation. In order to show this feature, there is a valve on the suction line. If the valve is shut off, the pump will continue to work, but the controller will recognize that there is no flow and no pressure, and it will shut the pump off after ten seconds. In the following sixty minutes, the controller will make five attempts to re-establish normal operation. If the dry-run situation persists, the controller will enter alarm mode and the system must be restarted manually.

      Hello. It depends on the pump that you use; you have to select between the 3 different models that we sell. 22 PSI turn on, 32 PSI turn on or 42 PSI pressure turn on elecronic controller.

    Hi there. So we have a unique problem in our house that plumbers haven’t been able to solve and I think this might be the solution. We have city water and our main house pressure is 75psi. But if we turn on just one fixture (like kitchen sink) the pressure drops drastically to 50. If two fixtures are on the whole house begins to dribble water only. So looking for something that can sense when those drops happen and only boost or maintain higher pressures when it’s necessary because a drop. Will this help?

    • @PEARLWaterSystems
      @PEARLWaterSystems  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello. A boosting system would definitively help you boost the pressure in your house, as demand increases. Keep in mind that the pump will always work as soon as pressure goes down,(when you open a Fawcett). What you are looking as solution, requires a more sophisticated system with a VFD (variable frequency drive), which is way more expensive.

    Sir, an Electronic control board unit is attached in my 0.5 HP motor pump. The electronic unit is same as like as in your video shows. No other pressure controls in the unit. Then How can we adjest pressure bar with this unit. ? Please mention.

      @baby thomas you can adjust the pressure by connecting a presure switch or buying an APC with Integrated Pressure switch inside of it..

    How this electronic device works? How does it stop when there is no water? How does it start when the water flows afain?

    • @SteveMcDonald-ku1ze
      @SteveMcDonald-ku1ze 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      The electronic module has two reed switches assoicated with magnets inside the pump chamber. One is the pressure switch which detects the full or dropped pressure in the chamber. When the pressure drops, the pump will start. It will stay running as long as there is flow. The other switch is associated with the flow valve so that while water flows, the valve is open and so is the switch. When flows stops (tap tuned off) then the valve closes and the switch operates causing the pump to stop running. The chip used is usually a LM4093 or similar, which is a quad 2-input (Schmitt trigger) NAND gate. It is wired as a S-R latch, with one reed switch input as a Set and one switch as a Reset. The pump is controlled by a relay, controlled by the output of the latch. I have also used the dual comparator inputs of a LM555 instead. It has a smaller footprint, and is just as cheap and reliable.

    For 10 sec, when the pump is on, and the taps are off, doesn’t it affect the pipe fittings?? Please Reply!

    • @18183
      @18183 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      When you design a system the maximum pressure that a pipe and fittings can sustain must be more than the maximum pressure of the pump. Ideally pump max pressure should be half that of the pipes

    My water pump take time to start working sometime even an hour for it to start "pumping". What do you think the reason this happen? And how do i fixed it?

    • @PEARLWaterSystems
      @PEARLWaterSystems  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello.
      There could be many reasons for that. It could be pressure, it could be lack of incoming water flow/pressure. It depends on your installation...
      We highly recommend you to contact a plumber or an experienced contractor to check your system.

      I have the same issue. Had plumbers crawl through our household plumbing and declare there is no leak and yet the pressure drops from 70 to 18psi within two minutes. Consequently, the controller has the pump constantly cycling (one minute pumping to build pressure, two minutes to lose that pressure). Could it be a case of air in the system?
