Caught Fish in a Thunderstorm! Exploring Drained Lake!

I caught fish in a thunderstorm with ‪@heartsonfishing‬ while out exploring a drained reservoir. We were able to catch a multitude of species despite the low water levels. We hiked out over an hour along the shoreline to reach the good fishing spots; however, we were caught out in the middle of a thunderstorm while we were out there. I do not recommend fishing in a thunderstorm. If you are caught in a thunderstorm seek shelter.

That was a monster white crappie you caught btw kinda jealous lol. The vertical bars are how you can tell. Super rare in Maryland but that reservoir particularly seems to have a good amount. Congrats heartson and awesome video Jon!

Thanks! Yeah we got caught in the storm while we were like 40 mins hike from the car. Returning would have been the same as waiting for the storm to pass. So we stayed

The bite has slowed down big time as the fish are heading to the deep parts. Early day is still the best bite from what i've observed. A friend caught a 5lb there last week so there is always lunkers lurking! Good vid man!

Yeah it feels like they’re heading deep earlier this year. I’ve never caught a 5lb bass that would be great!

Man ur lucky I have terrible luck with fishing and the biggest thing I caught was like a Black Crappie and it was small

I don’t always catch fish. I’d say I only post about 1/3 of the videos I film. Exactly because I don’t always catch fish. Just keep trying man! You’ll get them👍🏽🎣 good luck!
