This hymn originated in the pre-Civil War South. It was sung by African American slaves as an expression of Hope. They knew God was the only true source of healing and restoration. I love this song. It expresses the steadfast faith of our past sisters and brothers, who in spite of their suffering and oppression, never faltered in their love for Jesus.

I heard the Lord say where your heart is that is where your treasure will be. Lord let our heart burn for you and only you. Why? because you're so faithful and loving in the name of Jesus. I’m struggling with addiction right now, and this is all I want(You can have all this world but give me Jesus!) There are some days I just wish I didn’t have to deal with it, but it’s a constant battle. I have faith and complete belief that God will pull me through! I will continue to believe and seek him!

My parents became barren after they gave birth to their first child which passed away a couple of months later, concerning their lack of production after they actually had given birth to the first child was caused by satanic activities. As Christians, they had to consult a pastor, hoping that jesus could make what seemed to be impossible, possible, thenafter they were prayed for, months later my mom found out that she was pregnant by me, I was born through his name (Jesus). As for me growing up realizing how blessed I am, I also face deadly challenges and I've been recently wrestling with the spirit of Antichrist, I mean like the devil literally had been fighting for my soul, trying so hard to convince me that God isn't real, I mean how ridiculous is that?, so whenever I had those thoughts I would get here and listen to this song, the devil is the #LOSER, and I will forever be a child of God:).

I was diagnosed with chronic anxiety, depression and insomnia, and Jesus won the victory. I still cry listening to this song, because it helped me through that time, and every time my heart is filled with pleasure and love for my king. Steffany reminded me of myself, as that 5 year old a little girl I was, praying with my grandmom. I was raised as a Christian and had some time off believing, trusting, praying- teenage years. Now I'm 23. Year ago I started believing again. Like for real. I know Jesus is my savior, has always been. God above all things, He is, we believe it or not... And I know in my heart, there's something magical & there was something when I was about 5 years old on my knees, now 23 praying late after work before going to sleep. There IS something... There is everything! There is His guidance, His heart... His beautiful, always loving heart.

5 years ago I was invited to a Bible study and that same day I gave my life fully to God but I didn’t know what that meant. That same night I came home and went to bed and played some random 1 hour relaxing Christian music to fall asleep and after two songs I fell asleep. I woke up at the very beginning of this song out of nowhere with my heart burning like crazy!!! It was so overwhelming that I couldn’t go back to sleep. Praise God!

Iam a father with a very big emotional hart and one child, I would like to have more, but that was not possible through medical restrictions of my wive.. If I heard you speak out like this, for example in church, I would give you a hug. I would think of what I could do to help with your pain.. Your pain.. it hurts just to read it..its simply to hard to bear, no matter how old you are!
Please don’t be hard at yourself. I want to compliment you for speaking out! Writing this reaction. That takes courage! See! Already you are strong! Now I can try to support you a little bit. Keep doing so and others will help you to! If you need support keep asking for support around you! But seek your support wisely and safely in the right places. For example by people you really trust in church.
It will take many years of time.. but you will get stronger every year. Take a good peaceful walk through nature when you feel down.. and nature will become a friend for you, that will never go away. And furthermore be good for yourself.
If there is one that understands you than it is God. He did not want this for the World.. That’s why he send his Son.
Only you know the depth of your pain. In the future, when you are strong enough, take your pain and let it become a strength, a different form of intelligence, an arrow of goodness for Gods Kingdom. To help others with simular grief, reaching their goals with their talents.
Others that feel alone in their grief. Only you will understand them! You will become a brother/sister and a father/mother for many of them!
And when you help them, you will notice that at the time that you helped the other…. you also helped yourself with another bit of healing…

For so long i’ve dealt with anxiety, which little did i know was health anxiety after my father suffered from deep depression, i was scared for him , my mother who dealt with it and myself. In 2019 i experienced my first ever panic attack, the Lord has been guiding me and i can confidently say he has transformed me, slowly but surely fears shackled are being unleashed and he is walking with me everyday. Lord you make me and my siblings so happy, we bless you. He will aid you, he is your God. He loves you, forever and always. ❤️

I'm struggling with an addiction right now. Sometimes i feel as if God isn't there, cuz I'm still stuck in it. It isn't his fault, i guess I'm just not strong enough to do the final push after God carried me to the top.
I know it's too much to ask, but please pray I get out of the shame I'm in and be one with Jesus, who I'll never stop loving.
